Don't let the shills tell you it's much worse than windows it's not tho gaming is gonna take probably 3 more years to hit 1 to 1 with windows
Don't let the nerds tell you it's better, it's more open source and thus you could program your OS to your hearts desire, but even for a newbie KUbuntu is easy you will still need to familiarize yourself with the terminal even tho most of what you put in there will be copied off of a website.

A) Already played through enough The Dark Mod and DOOM maps
B) Not enough people playing Battle for Wesnoth
C) Steam has always been an incredibly shit piece of software, and this is no truer than on Linux. Given the absolute lack of proper download controls, you'll find the launcher trying to automatically download gigabytes of Linux files for each installed and compatible game until the total numbers in the dozens or more, and this all wigs out if you're a dual-booter and launch the Windows version of Steam
D) AMD hasn't made proprietary Linux drivers for my GPU for years
E) Mod loaders for Linux are a pain in the ass to find and a bigger pain to get running
I've got it installed, but it's still going to be a while until it becomes the main OS I play games on.
