Cloud loves Aerith so much

Why do the English subtitles for dragon ball super refer to the characters by their English dub names. Both db and dbz used the jap names in their subs.

>he doesnt call barret "bullet"
>he doesn't call tidus "tida"
>tells people its "aerith"

Best way to spot some low power level piece of trash.

My FF7 manual printed by Squaresoft themselves proves you wrong.

I refuse to make the first fictional woman to make me feel love sound dumber by making it sound like you need a lisp for her name

>shitty english translations

nah

>not calling her mommy gainsborough

How are you supposed to pronounce Aerith? I'm willing to accept the spelling but saying it out loud feels awkward.

I play in Japanese, so I don't have to think about it. I always go back and forth between Aeris and Aerith when talking about her though.

Stop placing so much emphasis on the fucking -th sound. Do you pronounce Earth as “Earttttthhhhhhh?”

Cute!

I'm still mad.

whats a bra?

This looks straight out of a trannies instagram. (Yeah, I know men make for best grills)

Aerith is a canon prostitute.

It's been consistently localized as Aerith in every one of her appearances aside from the original FF7. The only people who were calling her Aeris were either in massive denial or hadn't played an FF game since 7. Nevermind that it was also the game that spelled Midgardsormr as "Midgar Zolom" and had the line "This guy are sick" so it clearly couldn't be trusted as a localization in the first place. It's like people who pretend to be Star Wars fans but don't care about anything that isn't the movies.

Why is that vampire taking his pet slug for a walk?

>It's like people who pretend to be Star Wars fans but don't care about anything that isn't the movies.
I agreed with your argument until this point. SW expanded universe is complete hot garbage, just like the FF7 "Compilation" expanded universe.

She's a prostitute.

it was pooping all over his castle

FF VII's localization is indeed really rough. It's worse than most people realize. Though the translation of エアリス to Aeris I can't call a mistranslation because the translator wasn't told what they were going for, and when dealing with made up names, you just have to pick a translation you like, and Aeris was a valid translation at the time. Wouldn't be valid now of course, we've known for at least 17 years what it's supposed to be now.

you got trolled

FFVII has the strongest waifu game of any vidya ever

Aerith Tifa Yuffie Jessie Elena, all top tier
you even have Scarlet for the audience that likes femdom and Lucretia for the cucks

To be fair, even Square has used "bad localization" as an excuse to make fucking awful sequels and spinoffs.
>Tseng gets run through by Sephiroth
>Party very clearly finds him dying
>He doesn't show up for the rest of the game, it's even implied that Reno's taken over his "leadership" position by training Elena
>oh btw Tseng's alive and also so is Rufus lmao no one ever really dies

Oh right, Scarlet. I'm interested in seeing her in the remake.

>エアリス

THERE'S STILL TIME, WE'RE NOT GETTING THE BOAT UNTIL 2022 AT EARLIEST ANYWAY SO WE HAVE TIME!

I figured out Tseng wasn't dead before Advent Children released from context clues. VII tackled death extremely seriously and with utmost respect. If Tseng was dead, the game wouldn't have made fun of Elena's grief in the Icicle Inn.

I guess you could really say....

AerisDies

Oh wait that's actually a really fair point.

I'll give you Tseng, but Rufus showing up again is pure bullshit. Especially in that fucking mobile game where he's ACKSHUALLY the creator of Avalanche. Fuck that nonsense, I've read fanfiction that makes more sense.

Yeah, Tseng and Rufus being alive really get me. At least you don't see Tseng crushed to death, so you could argue that he managed to scamper away, but the last time you see Rufus in FF VII is inside of an exploding office.

Mobile Dissidia game

Cool game on a shit plataform.

>Especially in that fucking mobile game where he's ACKSHUALLY the creator of Avalanche.

What? They made Rufus the founder of Avalanche?

The problem is Aerith pronounces like a retard with a lisp and Aeris actually sounds like a pretty name.

>big budget Arcade+PS4 game
>worse gameplay than a chibi mobile game with a cash shop

Is it good? Looks turn based

Haven't played it myself, but from what some people have said it's pretty solid for a mobile game

Attached: DFFOO_Judgement_Bolt.png (1920x1080, 1.93M)

No one is complaining about Marth's name sounding lispy, even though it's literally supposed to be Mars.

So, do you have the same problem with it being Sephiroth and not Sefiros?

Attached: 1540752402266.jpg (1081x669, 63K)

Yeah, I agree with you on the others.
He was bankrolling its founders with money (and information), so he could overthrow his father.

shut up Kiryu go back to faking your death.

Yeah in Before Crisis, Rufus is the creator of AVALANCHE because he's a rebel with a cause striking out against daddy.

It is 10,000% as retarded as it sounds. They were letting literally anyone at Square make fucking FF7 fanfiction and selling it as canon. Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Advent Children, it's all garbage.

Just fucking call her Earth then since that's clearly what they were trying to do with their shitty fucking language. >but that's retarded. So is Aerithhhhhhhhhh.

Bartz.
Terra.
Aerith.

only one girl isn't dying
and it's jessie

Wait for the episode Aerith DLC or X-2 type spinoff where you can revive her at the end if you clear 100% of the game.

What are you fucking saying about me, faggots? Shut your whore mouths or I'll stick a healing rod up your asses.

Attached: fuckos.png (498x410, 311K)

>X-2 type spinoff where you can revive her at the end if you clear 100% of the game
I'd fucking play it even if it's as bad as X-2 itself

So were "flower girls" prostitutes or not?

>or X-2 type spinoff where you can revive her at the end if you clear 100% of the game.
more like it will be in the base game as a true ending through which Nomura will speak cryptically about during the advertising of the game
>For those who want the best ending possible, please try to fully complete the game!

If this looks like a tranny to you Yea Forums has officially rotted your brain.

Nothing to indicate that. The rumor you here is that "flower girl" is a euphemism for prostitute, but she's not even called "Flower Girl' in Japanese, she's "Flower Seller", or 花売り, which is a gender neutral term. I even brought it up to a Nip once and he got a kick out of it.

At least im not a zoomer

No

Attached: 1557450321890.png (371x329, 223K)

The difference is that aeris is a made up name and sephiroth is an established word you monggoloid

Does that mean we need to start calling squall leon?

Because we played that game for fucking years calling her aeris before compilation trash came out. Of course a filthy zoomer like you would never understand

An established word that in most cases, including in the Final Fantasy series itself, is spelled Sephirot. You fucking retard.

Attached: temp.jpg (320x180, 20K)

Aeris is my waifu. Stop sharing her images on the internet. Cease and Desist or else.

No because his game is still Squall he's just going by Leon after his home was blown up.

Never happened. Aeris is in my house right now. She is my wife. Do not share her images or fabricated stories invented by the CIA jews.

Are they really going with Aerith for the English dub?

Attached: 1554262757080.png (740x537, 783K)

Yes you fucking retard.
Just like KH1, 2, and RECOM.
Just like Dirge of Cerberus, Advent Children, and Crisis Core.
Just like literally every time she's been in a game with voice acting.

Fuuuuuuuuuck I wish dog girls were real. Did you know the female dogs vagina clenches around the base of the males cock when he cums? And stays that way until the penis goes flaccid? It even throbs to provide further stimulation, her pussy literally milks his balls dry. Sometimes for 45 minutes striaght. I want to see a puppy girls tail wag as she happily takes every thick jet of my cum, dousing her cervix in my glaze of sperm, guaranteeing that I'll impregnate her. Why can't they be real? I don't want to live in this world of corrupt, vile, niggardly world. People like us are too pure for this game.

>spelled Aeris officially in Japanese
What did me mean by this?

Her name is flowerslut. Get it right.

Except that Sephiroth's name is written セフィロス and Sephirot's name is written セフィロト you retard.

Just because they were retarded with all that shit doesn't it's any more acceptable to be retarded with the Remake.

The Japanese don't even have that dental fricative in their fucking speech or language.

Attached: 1448505306159.gif (300x139, 758K)

Your translation error 20 years ago has been dead and buried by every other instance of this character.

god boomers are autistic

Not having a "th" sound in Japanese and subbing "su" in instead.

What im pointing out is that you cant call sefirot/sephirot as sefirosu because it was already established! Do you have a reading comprehension of a dog?

They have "phu" which would be much closer to "th" than "su".

Phu? You talking about ふ (fu)? Well don't ask me about that, I don't know why they do what they do, I just know what they do. They also have "ji" but use "gi" in "enerugi/energy" instead, and Final Fantasy is Fainaru Fantaji instead of Fainaru Fantashi instead (though I have seen the word itself occasionally spelled as ファンタシー/Fantashi).

SeeIt's like Yea Forums has taught you that every time you see a well defined jaw you should think "man" when you should actually be looking at the adams apple for that. Take a break from Yea Forums before you become too much of a brainlet to change.

It doesn't matter what the English text says since all the characters will be speaking japanese and say エアリス (e-a-ri-su).

/thread
It should remain Aeris.

So if the Japanese themselves don't know what they're doing, why should some translator be trusted as a concrete source?

>since all the characters will be speaking japanese
>the trailer is in dub
>when the fuck has Square Enix ever had dual audio

hello I'm Japanese
Japan don't have "th"

Aerith エアリス (Earisu)
Sephiroth セフィロス (Sefirosu)

Since 2013 with lightning returns, FFXV had it, why wouldn't this?

>dat glorious Garnet booty
Mmmm....

Attached: RearView_01(Alt).png (750x1000, 598K)

Huh? I'm not sure how we suddenly jumped from puzzling language decisions to why translators should be trusted as a concrete source. I'm not arguing about Aeris/Aerith, and there's nothing to argue about since the owner of the character has decided on an official translation for her name.

Back to discord, tranny

>the 30-year-old boomer

What are you implying? The second one is the pronunciation of the word "air" so are you saying they should have spelt it as "Airis/Airith?" because that would have been pronounced like "Iris/Irith"

It only has changes I dislike*, but I still overall like it and her. It's kinda weird.

*) Hair, tits, ass, coat, dress, wristbands.

Just hope they don't fuck her personality up and make her a generic pure girl like in everything after FF VII.

fuck you! the translators are obviously "TH" lovers that fucks trannies

>why translators should be trusted as a concrete source
I'm assuming that's OP's source for confirmation.
>the owner of the character has decided on an official translation for her name
Are you going to give a source for that then?

Yeah that's the biggest concern. She was actually a bit of a minx in OG 7, but after that she became mother Theresa while Cloud became Squall.

I wonder if FFVII remake is going to have the best Aeris gore

yikes, imagine having your perfect 2D sprite waifu of your childhood be turned into this disgusting CG abomination, sony sure knows how to fuck everything up huh, best of all is the absolute losers in this thread defending it

I pretty much will, I hope the porn is good

>the name of this final fantasy character has been established since a non-final fantasy game

I hate you people.

I'm glad she finally has an English voice that isn't shit, to bad they replaced Sephiroth and his voice actor, he was perfect as him

Shouldn't she be called "Earth" instead? Or am I just a brainlet?

Attached: 1518290813153.png (645x729, 97K)

Shame we won't hear the vastly superior Sakamoto though.

>Are you going to give a source for that then?

For Aerith? That Square-Enix decided on that? That's not a new thing, it's 17 years old. Do 30-60 minutes of basic research and you'll find all the proof you need. I just commented on the Japanese having no "th" sound, I don't care about the name argument, so you've got to do the legwork yourself.

But it is "arisu" in the Japanese. "Arisu" is phonetic Japanese for both "Alice" and "Earth"; her name is meant to have metaphoric relavence to Cloud's. It's just that translating an english word into phonetic Japanese and then back into English is a hilarious game of telephone.

Imagine liking a character so shitty people doesn't even know her name.

The mental gymnastic...

And it came from the company that owns the character, so I don't think it matters what game it was decided in.

I haven't heard Sephiroth voiced since KH and Advent Children. Is his voice actor still cartoon Superman? Sounds a lot younger than normal

>the west likes ff7
>racist japanese can't handle that
>change literally fucking everything the west liked about these characters
>weebs eat it up
FF7 is fun.

Everything about ff7 after ff7 is not fun.

Just because there's no "th" doesn't mean they can't have a name with a "th" sound in it
e.g. Granblue has a character officially named in JP "Thalatha" (that early weebs called Salasa because of the "th" thing)

remember when final fantasy was about...fantasy?
not this weird modern fantastical shit
series was ruined because of the dumb future shit in ff7

People don't take to retcons very well. Atlus changed the name of Persona 5's MC from Akira to Ren, and the fanbase is still arguing how to refer to him (not unlike the Aerith vs Aeris debate). Regardless it's Square-Enix who have the authority to determine the names of their characters, and they say it's "Aerith." End of story.

Attached: 1556971433305.jpg (707x1000, 75K)

You are a very confused individual. I never said that they couldn't. Here, I'll do you a favor and re-post the post of yours that I replied to, and my response.

>spelled Aeris officially in Japanese
>What did me mean by this?

>Not having a "th" sound in Japanese and subbing "su" in instead.

It's purely informational, I never commented on the translation.

>actually I'm a centrist

my bad, I was just skimming over the thread i am not anyone you were talking to previously

Wasn't it Akira in the manga or something? Where'd Ren come from? I haven't paid attention to Persona 5 in two years.

And I should care about a corpse why?

Earisu Geinzubūru
this is how japs pronounce it. Do you see "th" there?

>Do 30-60 minutes of basic research and you'll find all the proof you need.
Burden of proof lies on you if you're going to claim that.
>I don't care about the name argument, so you've got to do the legwork yourself.
If you don't care, then don't bother saying something you aren't willing to back up.

I actually wonder why people don't consider stuff from long time ago a spoiler. Why ruin it for future generations? I didn't want to know who dies in Hamlet, ruined twists for me.

Well it's such common knowledge among the fanbase and has been for nearly two decades. At this point it's like telling someone to prove that airplanes don't use magic to fly.

That would be pretty cool if they did remake FF9, keeping it's overall visual style of course. At least it's nice that it's got newer ports now so people can enjoy it. Feel pretty bad for the FF8 fans since it's the only one of the PS1 FF games to not have had any recent rereleases.

It's so much nothing that I'm glad I don't fuck with this. I'd be so glad that I didn't feel anything. What I feel extremely longingly about, or emotionally about, are these amazing stories. I'll related 1984 to you guys, since I think it might be something you've read. Like, that emotional connection, where you actually like them....even love them, and it's getting taken away from you. That is actually an amazing story. The guy full loved her, and they were taken away. To love an imaginary being rather than each other. They were ugly people where their life was so awful, that they could find that attraction. We as a people, should never become so low.

the newer ports look like dogshit.

You're extremely bad at this.

>Aerith’s name is meant to sound similar to “earth” due to her connection to the Planet. In the September 1997 issue of the Famitsu magazine, it is said “Aeris” is the transliteration of the word into katakana: “earth” turned into “earisu,” Aerith’s Japanese name.

で、でも、日本語は難しいよっっっ!!!

Is it bad that I kinda like the English pronounciation of Earith? Like Eer-ith. Rolls off the tongue a little better.

She has to die, otherwise she can't be an omnipotent spirit in the movie to help Cloud and save everyone from the geostigma.

Aeris just sounds better. It's more comfortable phonetically. For both English speakers, and Japanese speakers. Aerith sounds like someone is trying too hard to make their OC unique.

There's a reason most fictional characters don't have names with TH in them. And the ones that do, get their named shortened.

Good thing Nomura already said they aren't being restricted by the Compilation shit then.

Oh, so they're going to remake the Compilation and ruin everything all over again.

Give me some more sources if you're so sure then. It's basic logic that something needs to be recent, have actual citing/referencing, and several sources to be considered credible.

what are some good aeris doujins

>If it's straight from the company's mouth, but is two decades old, it's not credible because it's old.

Told you that you're only getting spoonfed from me once, kid. Time to fend for yourself.

They should kill someone else just to subvert expectations and throw logic and reason out the window.
Their original idea was to have Barret die, but went with Aerith because that was going to hurt more.
But now everyone will go into the remake expecting Aerith to die.
So kill Barret instead.

Not if you're using the spelling of "earth" rather than the english pronunciation.

And the Eh-Ah sound is pronounced as a dipthong, making the resulting word sound a lot like what a Japanese person would pronounce if you asked them to read "earth" out loud without ever having heard an English speaker do so.

You do understand that the Japanese are not flawless beings of perfect translations, right? Doing a dirty translation of an English word into romaji is exactly the kind of thing that happens all the time when working across languages.

Seeing as how it's a game from the same fucking company, yeah.

the ones where tifa has a huge cock and they cuck cloud all the time

Not like they can't just make an alternate ending where she can live. If DQ8 could be given a random and obviously fanservicely alt ending where Jessica is suddenly in love with the hero, they could do the same with the FF7 remake.

Holy shit, so a girl named "Earth" is killed by a shinra agent, while shinra at large is literally responsible for killing the planet? It's turtles all the way down

Ha

>straight from the company's mouth
Prove it, get the actual magazine.
>it's not credible because it's old.
Also because it isn't a first hand source, fails to reference a first hand source effectively, and is the only one of its kind. You'd know that if you actually took the time to read my whole post.

>Her name isn't Aeris, it's Aerith, pronounced "Aeris"

Attached: 1557196701562.jpg (638x1000, 92K)

>And the Eh-Ah sound is pronounced as a dipthong

What is your source? I don't care whether the devs fucked up when trying to name the character using an English word. I only care for the fact that, officially, unquestionably, her official Japanese pronunciation is Eh-Ah-Ree-Th. Is it wrong? Whatever, but that's what people at Square that had any involvement with her story/character/appearence called her, like it or not.

アース is Earth, you idiot. Stop giving lectures on a language you don't know.

Day 1 player here and a gacha vet. This is one of the best gacha games out there.
Also better than NT.

>her official Japanese pronunciation is Eh-Ah-Ree-Th. Is it wrong?
Yes, there is no characher for "th" in Japanese and here, it's spelled with the character for "su" at the end.
I can't think of a single time I've seen "earth" actually said or written in Japanese over "chikyu" the name in its own language.

Attached: aeris.jpg (1024x1408, 178K)

>it's can't be this because they don't have "th"
Too fucking bad, that's a shit excuse you have.

>Yes, there is no characher for "th" in Japanese

I know that you bakamon, I didn't mean wrong in that sense, I meant wrong as it was intended to be エーリス under the proper circumstances. Never the less the intention behind that "su" is to transliterate the "th" sound. Therefore while in Japanese they literally say "Earisu", the corresponding English pronounciation as per Japanese nomenclature, should be Eh-Ah-Ree-Th. Jesus.

I'm not using it as an excuse, you said it was her official Japanese pronunciation which is literally impossible.
As far as I can tell, there isn't actually any proof one way or another what her name really is so arguing about it is pointless.

>Eh-Ah-Ree-Th

it's an upbeat kind of strange funkish forest feel

The three best ff girls are back now. I can rip ty god.

Except there is, it's Aerith. It's been confirmed as such, pointed out as being a reference to earth. End of discussion.

Have you ever heard a Japanese person pronounce her name? Do you know what a dipthong is? Are you going to tell me that the "ea" in "earth" is pronounced as "eh-ahrth" too?

youtu.be/plRHuvLhD_c?t=167

"アース is a pseudo-transliteration of the spoken word, "エアリス" is the transliteration of the written word.

Are you trying to say that to be "Aeris" in English, the intention would have to be エーリス in Japanese?

>It's been confirmed
The only "confirmation" I've seen from this thread is a single unreliable source. That isn't enough.

>it's unreliable because I say so

Attached: bentama.png (233x278, 113K)

not him, but if it's one source, it's unrelieable

>a single source can't be reliable
GEE, GUESS THE SUN ISN'T BRIGHT BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY BRIGHT THING IN THE SKY

Maybe it's supposed to be Eris

>Have you ever heard a Japanese person pronounce her name?
No, but who cares? Kana is absolute, you don't just pull dipthongs out your ass for a language with a different character system altogether. Zack in that video literally says "エアリス", which is pronounced in English as "Eh-Ah-Ree-Th", that's the beginning and fucking end of it. You may not catch it because it's fast, but that's what comes out of his mouth.

>アース is a pseudo-transliteration of the spoken word

Pseudo my motherfucking ass, rules for transliteration are consistent and documented. Gib source or get the fuck out.

See.

Wait, so her name is supposed to be Earth?
The japanese are more autistic than I thought

You're just being disingenuous at this point, give more trustworthy sources or accept that you may be wrong.

エーリス would be the correct transliteration for either Aeris or Aerith, so yes, that is correct.

if one only fag says snow is purple then snow isn't fucking purple, unless he gives more evidence

Aerith's original Japanese name is エアリス Earisu, pronounced [eaɾisɯ] (About this soundlisten). This was transliterated to "Aeris" in Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Tactics, but in later products has been changed to "Aerith". Both transliterations have basis, as the Japanese "su" (ス) is used when transcribing "s" (/s/) and "th" (/θ/) to Japanese. However, official Japanese material uses the spelling "Aerith", and developers have stated that "Aerith" is a near-anagram of "Earth"

Ah yes, because "car" and "caa" sound exactly the same. Please take you google-translate certificate of expertise out of your ass, the cocks out of your mouth, and actually learn you some linguistics.

>No, but who cares?
Maybe the developers who chose the name?

Japan loves to make the smallest random thing connected even if it's deep or not.

Pottery. Pure pottery.

Shame they already blew their load on Terra. At least that sounded like an actual name.

So are we going to start in Midgar or are we going to start aboard the FFX airship for the birth of the Shinra corporation?

Japs do this all the time, offload shitty sounding names to us by scribbling some letters together, then smushing it backwards to Japanese which sanitizes the way it sounds by forcing it into normal Japanese syllables.

Her canon name is Tina.

This is at least better, but it's still a secondary source. I can only trace it back as far as the publication details, not the book pages themselves. The most I can give is that it has a fair chance at being credible.
What's your point then?

>Ah yes, because "car" and "caa" sound exactly the same.

Neither do "furiza" or "doraiba" sound like "freezer" or "driver", but them's the rules, take them to the fucking nips.

>Maybe the developers who chose the name?

The same developers who made Zack in that video go "Eh-Ah-Ree-S"? What you read in kana is often what you get sans the exception of actual dipthongs like "ei". No ass backwards rules like in English and its whole Ghoti = Fish mess.

>What's your point then?

My point is that if Kitase and his team were truly competent regarding the issue of transliteration, then there wouldn't be a disconnect between the final latinized name (Aerith) and the kana read (エアリス).

Aerith = エーリス
Earith (Eh-Ah-Ree-Th) = エアリス

Their intention was most probably to go with Aerith because it's the name that mostly resembles the pronounciation of Earth, and while エアルス is relatively closer, they may have thought it didn't fit the feminine nature of the character like エアリス did. The point of contention is that Earth is not transliterated as エアリス, but アース, with the most phonetic resemblance being "エールス" (which would have become エーリス had they known that beforehand), but they probably were already set to calling her エアリス for the Japanese market because that's the proper name she was referred as during development, and so it must have grown too much for it to be changed last minute.

Proof for this is simple to extrapolate: why didn't they leave Earith in the manual and instead switched to Aerith? Answer: they must have caught up to their mistake and did whatever was in their will to fix it, but not to the point of changing their own regional name spelled in kana, just the internationally known one.

If things went with zero missteps, Aerith's Japanese name would be エーリス, and that's that. But since she's known as エアリス, Eh-Ah-Ree-Th is the most accurate way to refer to the name of the character, unless you think the language of the people who are responsible for her inception is irrelevant. And don't give me that "language is a living being that constantly evolves" shit.

>Japan
>not a rule-conforming hivemind

If you did that as a Japanese, people would immediately think you have problems.

I meant to write Su but that I realized it didn't make sense in English and forgot to fix it up. Keep grasping.

He absolutely does, but he isn't in love with her. He's in love with Tifa, and has been since he was a punk kid. Then they fuck and adopt children together.

Attached: 5e4f8f10cb586eb92467d13e043e620f.jpg (960x2047, 222K)

You're a fucking idiot. Transliterations mean nothing. Typing the English word out in an IME and converting is not how you make the Japanese word. エアリス is not a word, and it's not Japanese-English for Earth.

It's used in fantasy stuff pretty frequently.

Fair enough, but it's just conjecture without any official statements, the whole situation is just way too inconsistent. I don't see why it should matter as much as it does at that point if even the developers themselves made choices based on their preference.

>Then they fuck and adopt children together.
Might want to rewrite this sentence user.

>It's used in fantasy stuff pretty frequently.
Really? I'm not very much into Japanese fantasy type things but from what I understand, the planet always has some completely random name.

Switch port?

Manjaw/10

Not high fantasy isekai, but a lot of more "grounded" fantasy. Also, stuff with angels and demons and more western influences will use it a lot.

>Transliterations mean nothing.

What the fuck are you on about. Unless you plan to make two names have two arbitrarily different pronounciations, of course they mean something.

Could you give some examples? The closest thing I can think of to grounded fantasy is Berserk.

Imagine being autistic enough to care if a video game character is called Aeris or Aerith

No, you damn idiot.
> "Arisu" is phonetic Japanese for both "Alice" and "Earth"
This is just wrong. It's not a matter of opinion, and you clearly don't actually speak Japanese. That just not what that kana means or the sound it makes at all.

Honestly, off the top of my head I can't think of any because I don't really pay attention to it enough to care. Captain Earth and Gabriel Dropout (the OP song) are the only things that jump right to mind. It's used when they're trying to sound more western.

What's more autistic is how one side believes it's more right than the other.

You're talking to

Not

Well you can play the game and she's called Aeris so I feel like that makes me pretty right.

Purely from the way it sounds, Aeris is superior.

>tfw ywn impregnate girl like Aerisu

Attached: 47d.jpg (437x431, 23K)

And you can listen to the damn developers who plainly state that her name is Aerith and a bad localization is what gave her that false name. Funny how this board rags so hard on English dubs but not English localization

>she's phonetically knows as Earth
No she's not. Phonetically they aren't even close. 和製英語 is the attempt at making a Japanese word that's phonetically close (and easy to pronounce) and the word for that is アース. Literally no Japanese person would ever say エアリス to phonetically mean Earth. Why do people who don't speak the language insist on arguing about it using second hand bullshit they read online?

Aeris "Iron Jaw" Gainsborough

Looking forward to seeing her die in high definition now.

I want to run my fingers through her bangs.

Attached: sak.jpg (847x579, 79K)

No.

I only want to see Tifa's design while she's doing her somersault kick

The ones where you pretend they pronounce the th sound in her name? Yes, I did. You're an idiot. Stop reading shit online and try actually asking a Japanese person to say エアリス.

Read again, I said she's phonetically known as Earith, not Earth.

Arisu is phonetic for Alice. And I clearly do moonspeak.

Earth, on the other hand, is chikyuu. Easu if kana. Now stop pretending and commit to your tekunobureiku fucking virgin.

Hey look it's Tina, Lock, Mash, and Stragus! How do you think they'd fare in a FF6 Remake?

Attached: ff6cast.png (252x96, 7K)

Th is functionally identical to Su in Japanese. Just like Ra is functionally identical to La.

>Easu if kana

user no, don't embarrass yourself, I'm trying to achieve something here.

>she's phonetically known as Earith
She's literally not.

>Easu if kana.
>Easu
エアスってなんだ?今まで見たことのない言葉だ

Except you said phonetically when it's clear you have no idea how these words are read and what they sound like. Again, stop reading shit online and actually learn the language and use it practically. Phonetically it's not pronounced that way at all.

>She's literally not.

By Earith I mean Eh-Ah-Ree-Th(S) as mentioned multiple times in my posts. You'd know that if you took a second to read them. I fucking hate English, the most stupid idiotic caveman language to ever come out of this fucking geoid.

Attached: blog.jpg (663x456, 59K)

>th: an uncommon and unnatural end for a name with a genderless feeling
>s: a very common, natural, practical, and feminine end to a name
Even the developers themselves agree.

>By phonetically I don't actually mean phonetically, I just wanted to show off how smart I was for knowing that when English is turned into Japanese, th becomes su since they're incapable of making that sound
>Please ignore my incorrect usage of the word, and please ignore my inability to actually speak the language
>Grrr, I hate English

Keep telling yourself that, kiddo.

>can't even justify your shitty preference
Sad.

>wimin
>fesh
what am I missing here
one of these is incorrect

Only sad things is you

>su since they're incapable of making that sound

So you're now resorting to putting words into my mouth, pathetic. Th is transliterated into Su by convention, not because Japanese people are incapable of pronouncing Th. But it is clear from official material that's what Aerith's name is intended to sound when not put through the filter of kana transliteration. So unless you have a better word to express what I mean by "phonetically" without going "nuh-huh! not in my ass-backwards language" then please hand it out or fuck off.

>Th is transliterated into Su by convention, not because Japanese people are incapable of pronouncing Th.
You don't know Japanese. You sound like a linguistics undergrad who learned a tiny bit about a bunch of languages and think you're impressing people here with your limited knowledge.

>So unless you have a better word to express what I mean by "phonetically"
Phonetically has to do with the sound the fucking word actually makes. Stop trying to redefine words for a half assed explanation about a language you don't understand. Whether or not the creators were trying to make something close to "Earth", it doesn't change the fact that ス is not phonetically equal to th.

What is this argument even about?

Aeris.

People who don't know Japanese pretending to be experts on the language, its sounds, and its English loan words.

My FF7 manual which I just scanned to prove you're a faget shows that the packaging and manual were created by a Sony Computer Entertainment America guy and "Beeline Group Incorporated". Not Square.
The PC version of the manual (where it also reads Aeris) was done by Eidos.
The UK manual (also Aeris) was done by a Sony Europe guy.

The original Japanese manual, actually done by Squaresoft, is the one that reads Aerith.

Attached: ff7m.jpg (3007x1681, 1.43M)

And yet they chose Aerith to be the name since 2002.
So fuck yo shit.

無作法なこれであってはならない!

(...and Barett)

>Yea Forums

What do you mean? Every English release of FF7, including several after 2002, including those with updated script fixes, uses "Aeris".

Who cares.

All what matters is fact she is beautiful, cute, pure and perfect.

I want to shove my cock up her ass

And yet in Kingdom Hearts and other materials, it's Aerith.

Aerith has always been her name

She was called AeriS in final fantasy VII
You know, the game she's actually from

She looks amazing

And yet your rhetoric is still not impressive or insightful, nor does it address the substance of that post.

They never do.

The first English translation is canon and will always be canon. There can't be any mistakes. Even if the original Japanese devs intended it to be Aerith, they can't because their whole race is unable to pronounce 'th' sound and never will be able to because it is in their genes.

Doesn't matter. Nomura was involved in both and is her creator. It's his word on what her name is. Deal with it.
Whatever, kiddo.

>some loser who can't pronounce the th sound
>any authority at all

It's always been aerith, the faster you deal with it, the sooner you'll get over it.

>the creator isn't the authority
How do you function being this retarded?

Attached: hankdisgust.jpg (610x457, 26K)

Little known fact: Yoshitaka Amano's first illustrations of Aeris preceded Nomura's design.

Do we even know it was Nomura who named her?

You'd think if he or whoever actually had a strict intentional western pronunciation in mind for localization, he would have, like, told someone before it was a finished product. Otherwise it's like authors trying to add extra lore to their novels after the fact. Or making sequels to FF7.

Glad I'm never gonna spend $200 to replay this piecemeal showshow so I couldn't care less what those creatively bankrupt hacks do.

Attached: source.gif (194x284, 1.12M)

Aerith is getting a lot of attention with this new teaser.

But that doesn't change who's gonna win the Cloudbowl.

Attached: true love.png (589x663, 55K)

You're assuming they won't bastardize the characters.

After Cloud kills sephoroth he talks about “going to meet Aeris” because he’s stuck on her

アース (a-a-su, "earth") and エアリス (e-a-ri-su, "Aerith") are very distinct, they clearly weren't trying to call her "earth", that's retarded

>implying Aris will die in the remake
It's too tempting, keep shit the same right until that scene for maximum reaction video clips for maximum marketing.

And this is why she's been absent from every trailer

Is this an admittance of underage on your part? Or are you really bad at spelling?

Please do not post this gross ginger midget ever again, thank you.

Reminder that basic readability always trumps pun preservation, Aeris is the only sane option for an English translation. Aerith sounds fucking stupid, and makes anyone who says it sound like they have a lisp.

Developers aren't the word of god when it comes to translating to a language they don't understand.

エアリス is Aerith. But to my ear and when reading it feels like a Japanese loanword for 'heiress'.

It's pronounced Aeris.

Aerith has always been the correct localization.

see:
That is pretty official

>wow, she looks exactly the same as she does in all the other extended universe shit and kh
OH MY GOD TALK ABOUT THIS GUYS

I agree. No sane person on Ears would ever sink to pronounce it like that, and if you do, you should be srown in jail.

エ- eh
ア- ah
リ- ri
ス- su
Ehahrisu is how it is pronounced. If it were 外来語 it ends up sounding like the English word: heiress.

>eh
You're an idiot.

Yes, that's the thing, it's still pronounced the same in Jap, it's just that they push their shitty English pronunciation onto foreigners they they don't have to subject themselves to.

If you can't play it in Japanese over 20 years after the game launched, you only really have yourself to blame anyway. Funny to see weebs actually defending this shit though.

全く同意だ

When you throw エ and ア together it doesn't make that sound you idiot.

This. Aeris is canon. Aerith is not.

not according to the remake, porch walrus

English isn't my mother language sorry if that does not sound good to your ear, but エ sound is phonetically said 'eh'. Why am I an idiot?
Watch this:
youtube.com/watch?v=w-WuEPC4vrk

It's literally a spelling of Earth, mate.
E is エ, a is ア, r is リ since the i in ri turns silent, leaving you with r, and finally, th is spelled ス in all foreign words.
Hence Earth = エアリス; not at all different from how Bullet became バレット (convention of bu/gu turning into バ/ガ in Japanese, rest is self-explanatory).

エアリス is her only canon name. Aeris is the best way to translate this into English, and Aerith is the product of dumb nips thinking they know better than people who actually speak English.

Behind every translation hackjob, like HotD2, RE1, and all the MGS games past 1, there lies a nip who thinks he knows best, or is forced into the job to save hiring a real translator.

The number one rule of translation is that you only translate INTO your native language. Never out of, because your grasp of a second language is generally much poorer, and filled with mistakes that nobody will correct for you.

No it's not, you idiot. え and えっ do not sound the same. You know neither English nor Japanese.

Japs are so fucking stupid.

Katakana is phonetic. So yes エ and ア are always said the same.

You're arguing the most pedantic point possible. It's obvious he used "eh" and "ah" to avoid the obvious issues that arise in English when you put e, a, and r together and get ear.

Because English has no widely accepted phonemes, he made an approximation. And now you're sperging out about fucking tones.

>The number one rule of translation is that you only translate INTO your native language. Never out of, because your grasp of a second language is generally much poorer, and filled with mistakes that nobody will correct for you.
Pretty much this. You can pick up nuance reading or listening to another language you're effectively fluent in, but trying to write that way in a language that isn't your native tongue in is an awful idea.

You're the kind of idiot who read a textbook and doesn't understand Japanese pronunciation. There are actually differences in intonation. You've been lied to.

No, I just now what these letters and kana actually sound like. ESL retards who don't know English or moon need to stop posting.

Her name is Aeristhsthsthsthsthsthsth, it's 100% true, I heard it from a guy who knows a guy who knows a girl who is related to a guy who walked by the house of some guy who lived in Japan once.

Just fucking say alice then.

Thank you for understanding what I said.
I don't know why you keep calling me an idiot, and then make up things that I did not say. Of course エ andエッ are not the same. I didn't say the were anywhere.

>There are actually differences in intonation
You are arguing about pitch accents and the like that are completely outside of the scope of this conversation. What's accepted in one half of the country is considered strange and marks you as a rural peasant in the other half.

For all intents and purposes, you can consider things like エ and ア to be pronounced the same every time. The wide differences between letter pronunciation based on where it is in the word, what that word's root language was, and what day of the week it happens to be that we see in English? Japanese variances are so minor as to be barely noticeable to foreigners, and would be at best considered regional accents.

The difference between え and えっ isn't the difference between e and eh. That's a vast oversimplification of the role っ plays.

It has to be Arisu

Attached: Arisu_SR9+.jpg (640x800, 101K)

>I don't know why you keep calling me an idiot, and then make up things that I did not say. Of course エ andエッ are not the same. I didn't say the were anywhere.
Because エ does not sound like eh. えっ sound like eh, you idiot.

>You are arguing about pitch accents and the like that are completely outside of the scope of this conversation. What's accepted in one half of the country is considered strange and marks you as a rural peasant in the other half.
No you fucking idiot. If you think that 5日 and 何時か are pronounced the same in 標準語 when spoken by the same person because the kana for both is いつか, then you don't know anything about Japanese. Why do idiots who don't know the language insist on arguing about it?

>For all intents and purposes, you can consider things like エ and ア to be pronounced the same every time.
If you're an idiot who's only learned the basics of the language, then sure.

Alice doesn't stay in keeping with the rest of the nomenclature, so no.

The main issue I have with Aerith is that it doesn't actually improve matters. You aren't any more likely to see that her name is related to earth with this.

The problem lies entirely in the way westerners attempt to read new names and words. Ear-- is completely out. You're going to end up with people saying "Urr". Air--, again is no good, you instantly replace the meaning with a false one, and there's lots of ways to misread it. "Airth" would be about the best you can do for meaning preservation, it'd sound terrible as a name though.

So "Aer" is the only option, but this instantly kills any Earth based pun. People are far more likely to associate this with Aether. And when you combine that with "th", it makes the association even stronger. Aeris is the best option for a readable name.

But that's literally the same problem in reverse. They're both 'supposed' to be planets, but Mars sounds better and 'Earth' basically sounds retarded for a girl's name.

Aeris is effectively Japanese canon, and Aerith is western canon, but nobody wants to deal with fucked pronunciations that only exist for Japs to admire on paper.

>If you think that 5日 and 何時か are pronounced the same in 標準語 when spoken by the same person
I mean, they are. What's next, do you think 雲 and 蜘蛛 are pronounced differently? There's a slight pitch variation between these words, but the reality is that most people just distinguish based on context, because pitch isn't 100% reliable. You wouldn't use both terms in the same type of sentence, so it's not an issue.

youtube.com/watch?v=w-WuEPC4vrk
Please watch this video. Japanese has pitch changes, and inflection but none of that changes
エアリス since it is phonetic they are always pronounced in an easy way. They do not match up to English alpha bet. エ is not 'E' ア is not 'A' and ウ is not 'U'. You keep calling people idiot, but you come off looking ignorant.

>reading is hard

Attached: (You).png (640x360, 272K)

>I mean, they are
You're a fucking retard. Try actually talking to Japanese people.

She was called Aeris when I played FF7 back in 1998 so I'll keep on calling her Aeris.

>people buy games because of reaction videos
i hate current year

>Japanese has pitch changes, and inflection but none of that changes エアリス
Can you point me to where anyone actually made that claim? Someone said that the エ is pronounced as eh, and that's just straight up wrong. You don't actually know Japanese.

>japan literally has no way to show they want to pronounce th properly
>try their best given their limitations of their language
>americans say fuck you

Please show me what エ looks like in English to you and what エッ looks like. I never said they were the same, but if there is a better way to type them into English while keeping their original sound please show me.

I smell bullshit because Japs still made tons of prostitution doujins with her based on the fact that she sells her flowers

Attached: MC06.jpg (1054x1500, 252K)

Man, you don't even have a video or something? I get that you think you're hot shit because you've been in Japan for 6 months and you've picked up enough Japanese to participate in basic conversations about the weather, but nobody fucking cares about pitch accents, and it still has nothing to do with the topic.

>but if there is a better way to type them into English while keeping their original sound please show me.
E or Ee, and Eh. Saying that エ is eh as was done in this post here
is completely wrong, and stupid. People who don't actually speak Japanese (as in, don't use it to speak to Japanese people regularly) need to stop talking about the language.

I've lived in Tokyo for years, am fluent in Japanese, and don't use English in my day to day life anymore outside of hanging out with my one gaijin friend here. That's some nice projecting though, できない君.

Capitalize and punctuate motherfucker.

I'm not saying the spelling or pronunciation is wrong, I'm just going to nig the Japanese pronunciation for myself. It's easier to deal with crazy spelling than pronunciation, and that's a theme in English. Spell it how your ancestors did with vestigial letters strewn about but let us bastardize it to sound right.

Except, no. Tifa is pitifully friend zoned. Maybe she'll wise up and go for Johnny.

to my ear Ee and Eh sound the same and both would be okay translated from エ.

>living together
>raising children together
>running buisness together
I get why ACC showing a rough patch in Cloud's life where he leaves his family is confusing, but the movie is literally him getting over his issues and returning to them.

>to my ear Ee and Eh sound the same
Then get new ears.

Ok, the thing is this though. If they *could* pronounce 'th' 'correctly', they wouldn't have named her 'Aerith' because it would be obvious how retarded that sounds. It works in Japanese because they basically pronounce it Aeris, but with a slight inflection, and don't have to subject themselves to the full 'th' sound.

>E or Ee, and Eh. Saying that エ is eh as was done in this post here
I think I see what your issue is now. Oh god, it's funny.

You see "Eh" and think purely in terms of the English interjection, "eh", a term with a hard stop. While we're both reading it as a phoneme "eh", which doesn't imply a stoppage. Good old English pronunciation, always hot garbage and poorly transmitted.

You're sperging out because you think the interjection "eh" is the only one that exists, and that this guy is saying eh...ah... or something. Maybe you should re-learn English.

Johnny's married now though, even he got fed up of waiting.

>ESLfag completely incapable of understanding English phonetics trying to tell native speakers what they mean
You're the idiot who cries about English in every thread. How can you actually be arrogant enough to think that you can tell native speakers what the sounds in the languages are and what they're talking about. If me writing えっ made you think "user must have just meant eh as a hard stop" then your English might actually be as bad as your Japanese, which is non-existent.

>You're sperging out because you think the interjection "eh" is the only one that exists, and that this guy is saying eh...ah... or something. Maybe you should re-learn English.
No, you subhuman retard, I'm not talking about eh as a punctuated interjection, I'm talking about the phonemes you'd hear in the word "ape" versus the word "every". Learn what fucking phonemes in English are.

Spoiler alert

Learn formatting, faggot.

Attached: aeris smug.jpg (467x700, 69K)

This is what I have been trying to say. Thank you. Asian language is much more clear and easy. I never have trouble with them.

YAMEROOOOO

>You see "Eh" and think purely in terms of the English interjection, "eh",
Did you learn English entirely from ESL anime fansubs?

If you think え is the e in "ape", then you have much bigger problems than I thought.

Learn English. Maybe all that time spent betraying your native country and invading a foreign land has scrambled your fucking brain.

Nah, I learnt it from a few decades of being a native English speaker. Go on, tell me how "eh" isn't a decent enough approximation of え. It's closer than "E", for fuck's sake.

my uncle that works at nintendo told me that the game will be in development hell for another 5 years

>If you think え is the e in "ape", then you have much bigger problems than I thought.
日本語の発音も英語の発音もわからないくせによくその上から目線になっている

>Go on, tell me how "eh" isn't a decent enough approximation of え. It's closer than "E", for fuck's sake.
Because you clearly have no grasp of sounds in either language, and you're not a native English speaker. You're an ESLfag pretending to know 2 languages when you hardly know one of them.

I used 'eh' to represent え earlier in this thread and was told that I was an idiot over and over.

Because that's wrong. No one pretending that it's right actually understands English and Japanese sounds.

>上から目線
Are you the same guy who overuses this every fucking time he tries to type in Japanese? I've seen you around, you should really nip that shit in the bud.

>Because you clearly have no grasp of sounds in either language, and you're not a native English speaker.
This is just pure reaching. Go on, go through my posts, point out any indication I'm a fucking ESL. You won't find any, aside from maybe some stilted sentences because I've spent 20 years on the fucking internet and can't type a paragraph to save my life anymore. When you have to resort to these kinds of petty lies, you must at least subconsciously know you're out of fucking arguments, right?

I am confused. To me the 'A' in 'Ape' is really close to 'え', but if you were to spell 'Ape' as 'Ehpe' it sounds just as close to 'え'. Is there a difference between the two? If I were to say "Ehpe" or "Ape" to a native English speaker would they know the difference?

>To me the 'A' in 'Ape' is really close to 'え'

Attached: ok_gif.gif (320x236, 1.01M)

What about the 'Ehpe' version? Would a native be able to tell the difference? Assuming that my accent is perfect?

Do you realize 'ape' is pronouncrd 'eip'? There's a clear i sound after the e.

>Yea Forums - linguistic autism

That's the gist. Ad hominem and pedantic garbage with a hint of elitist bullshit and a touch of actual knowledge seeking. Stay classy Yea Forums.

Everyone will be expecting Barret to be the next in line to die.
Kill Nanaki. His relevance to the plot basically flatlines after the first Cosmo Canyon visit anyways.

>E or Ee, and Eh.

E and Ee are respectively い and いー you humongous faggotron.

no that's i and ii, dumbass

Literally directed by the guy who designed the fucking character

Why is every Aerithfag stuck on that phrase? That shit never made any sense in any context. The promise land is the life stream and Aerith is dead. If he wants to 'meet her there" then he should have just fell to his death in the northern crater or killed himself when he had Geostigma.

And I'll be calling her aeris till the day i die. If people have a autism attack because of it and act like a faggot you can fuck off back to whatever cave you live in and be a loser away from me don't like it? to bad!

Attached: 1553597934900.gif (360x346, 170K)

it seems like you had an autism attack

I've watched enough weeb shit to know that japanese would pronounce that Aerith as "Erisu", reason why translators though it was Aeris.
This is not rocket science or something that needs any knowledge.

I'm really pleased with the aesthetics of the remaster, glad to see they dropped that ugly pseudo-gook style and stuck with the pure Aryan looks. Based Uematsu.

nope
english language is an abomination
>type something
>speak something entirely different
e*glish might as well use chinese writing

It was always Aerith, why do people keep bringing up the "Aeris" meme

Attached: jxeev2hl25rz.jpg (1536x2048, 449K)

Chinese characters are always pronounced the same way though.

Let's talk the underrated, deep, patrician waifu of FF7

*dead waifu

Meh. If we're talking nonparty waifus, Elena was superior

>have fun!
I like her personality already.

She's a fucking QT! To hell with the other shitty girls

>Then they fuck and adopt children together.
in that order?

>dainty feminine porcelian doll

>"waah tranny"
>"waah manjaw"

I guess being an incel weeb actually does cause long-term brain damage.

>Sexy while sporting realistic female body armor
>Headband
>Spunky tomboy personality

Perfect!

Don't care
Aeris sounds better

>>dainty feminine porcelian doll
I mean isn't that appropriate for Aerith? If I had one complaint it's that she doesn't look alien enough. Maybe it's just me but she always kinda looked a little different from the rest of the people in the game, I figured it was because she was a Cetra

Attached: aeris.jpg (338x319, 83K)

This. Also she and Tifa were "actually" friends. I don't know why the community likes to pretend that Aerith and Tifa were ever friends with each other. They bearly talked to each other and were mostly cordial with one another.

Can't wait to ride the train with her and have her explain how the tunnel system works like 3 times

Uhh... Aerith and Tifa talked to each other all the time. Tifa cried when Aerith died. I don't remember Tifa ever actually talking to Jessie.

I don't get why people are so resistant to calling her Aerith like they're not aware of all of the weird translation errors that existed back then. I remember VII and IX having a bunch of terribly translated monster names, like Midgardsormr becoming Midar Zolom.

They always intended for it to be -th, but Aeris just sounds better. It was a happy accident.
Aerith is too on the nose.

It feels weird seeing her wear her original outfit again after all this time.

>it's an "everything I hate looks like a tranny" episode

Please leave.

>Final Fantasy VII
>2D sprite waifu

This is a sad attempt at bait. You don't even deserve this (You).

because Aeris sounds like a name and Aerith sounds really ugly
Plus that's what we got and nobody told us it was wrong unless we got on the internet and encountered the weeaboos that insisted her name was the ugly one

They better not change the name of the Midgar Zolom. Midgardsormr makes it sound like some generic monster because there's already a bunch of Midgardsormr generic enemies in JRPGs. Midgar Zolom made it sound like a unique beast, and the name made sense because it's in Midgar's region

Aerith fucks black men

But it's over by Kalm.

Kalm is right next to Midgar

Steiner looks weird here.

it's actually closer to the chocobo farm
2000 gil for a chocobo lure? why you dirty motherfucker...

That would be Cloud

>a little too on the nose
THIS

It's NOT too on the nose in JP because Earth is not a native word. The language gap keeps 'Earth' at an arm's length away. The only way to keep this gap in English is to carry over certain JP-native aspects of the name, like the "-s" sound. And just like the 'i' in "ri".

Gay

Wait. Wouldn't underaged people say Aerith since only the oldfags who played FF7 in 1997 would assume Aeris, and every major game since called her Aerith?

It’s Gil Roshi

i c wot u did ther

I'm mad because there's no blood

If you're interested
1st page
>Flower 1 Gil
2nd Page
>Handjob 10k Gil
>Titty 30k Gil
>Sex with Rubber 1m Gil
>Sex without Rubber 3m Gil
I assume the 1k Gil blocked is either blowjob or kissing.

I hope the dub will absolutely butcher her name.

>blowjob cheaper than handjob

What kind of thought process are we currently on, user?

Honestly this. The more people who switch to Japanese the better.

You don't think much when you're being a whore.

>a non-final fantasy game

Yamenasai

I have the original game and her name is Aerith.
Retcons will never be canon.
Enjoy your episodic kpop simulator FF15 rehash, retard.

AERISFAGS CONFIRMED ON SUICIDE WATCH

I will still call her Aeris and there's nothing you can do about it!

Squall looks more like a Leon than a Squall

It shouldn't be legal for someone to be this cute!

Too bad all you faggo fantasy losers don't read Japanese, then you could just play the original and call her エアリス instead of somehow managing to be more pathetic than a weeaboo.

Why would oldfags play any game after VII? There are plenty of VII fans who have played literally nothing else and they're not missing much.

In Japanese it's Earisu. Became Aeris because they don't have a "th" sound. I'm not sure how it became th instead of s.

>you're underage for not fellating an old busted localization
you're mentally underage for persistently ignoring what the creators intended in favor of n-no, it's how i heard it when i was a kid!
