Someone will replace Isabelle

C O M F Y

Fun. Not that I expect Yea Forums to know what that means anymore.

Just a nice little thing to come back to everyday for a while. Check the shops, talk to your villagers. You put 20 minutes into it every day for like a year and then you're done.

The series was actually pretty cool on the Gamecube and DS, but it's so bland and innofensive now, it's super shallow, the writing is boring, and it has an actual waifubait mascot. Only dumb girls and emotionally stunted furries can possibly enjoy the newer games.

Someone should make a Bingo card for AC threads. Throw in the free space and we’d already have a winner right here.

>doing menial tasks and talking to fictional animal people is fun
at least in vns you can jerk it once you get to fuck one of the girls

New Leaf is easily the best animal crossing, you've outgrown the series and you don't even realize it. Isabelle is no different than any other recurring non-villager NPC, having more things to do makes for an objectively better experience in games like AC. Animal Crossing was never "offensive", just how stupid are you?

isnt pocket camp basically the perfect animal crossing? they will continue to add furniture and animals and shit and holiday events. plus collectables and shit.

8 million years in bingo maker website. Don't say I never do anything for you.

It's absolutely the best in every aspect except dialogue. 8 personality types and they all amount to "nice and friendly" with only minor deviations.

very nice
I'm always the
"New Leaf was my first, why does everyone hate it?"

Comfy

>tfw want to play the gamecube version on a emulator

Won't make it any less correct.

this but unironically

No, the series has changed. The creators of the series that drove its vision have since left and the newer dev team tries to appeal to a different demographic, namely grown Japanese women rather than boys and girls.

We need one of these for every kind of thread

You need to move the fuck on. I started with Animal Crossing on GC, but it is objectively inferior in just about every possible way to the newer games that simply add more features and things to do. The writing was not ERMERGERD SO MUCH BETTERZ, take off the fucking nostalgia goggles.

fucking this, so much.

>REEEEE FEMALES REEEEEE

nice

He's right though. Women were a mistake.

It is comfortable to play Animal Crossing

>grown Japanese women

Why the fuck would they cater to them? AC of all

You know what, you're right. Without women we wouldn't have you, and it's a shame that isn't the case.

> The one who still remembers Magician's Quest
It's like you read my soul

It’s relaxing and zen af. It has intrinsic value just like every human being.

Shhhh, it doesn't need to make sense, it just fits the narrative they're pushing.

>just like every human being.

Does it work though? Does it do something?

yep

It’s true also what is he drinking? A milkshake?

I’m getting my wisdom teeth out next Monday and I’m going to be drinking a slot of milkshakes and ice cream.

nah it's boba tea

I ended up putting it on my 3ds, I just wished Konami would fuccking translate the sequels

I liked the original a lot but I was also a lot younger. I don't think I would care for it anymore. Now there are much better alternatives with a lot more to do like Rune Factory.

Out of curiosity, what objective value is that?

Sequels?

A little
I really only feel attached to villagers I had in previous games these days, I don't really even remember who was in my last New Leaf town besides Monique, Peanut and Hazel because I had them in other games
That's why people shit on New Leaf, it moved away from friend simulator and became chore simulator

Ah you poor summer child. Konami made 3 (COUNT THEM THREE) other sequels to MAgician's Quest in Japan. The sequels didn't really add much to the game itself, just more spells and students and better graphics. The original game never did well compared to the Animal Crossing games on the original DS, so they just never bothered to translate and release the sequels in the US

I feel like the GC writing was too far off in the malicious direction, while everything after is too far in the nice direction. I just want a mix, dude.

Interesting but it sounds like they barely tried with the sequels then, shame.

In what way has it "changed" to better target women? This series has, since day one, been about designing clothes, hanging out with cute animals and interior decorating.

You are so wrong is insane.

I feel that wild world strikes a good balance for me.

Gradually etching a small digital corner for yourself one day at a time. It's basically designed to create a habit.
If you could play Animal Crossing continuously instead of small chunks every day, it would lose a lot of its impact. The calendar even ensures every day has something slightly different to do for at least a year. Your progression is limited every day, so the only thing you can do an unlimited number of times is talking to the characters, creative endeavors like interior design, and fishing, which are other things people like about AC.

Maximum comfy and cozy

When I was an introverted kid with no friends it was a social sim that kinda helped me through some things.

Nostalgia and generally wanting to chill and decorate a house keep me going now, but if Switch doesn’t change some shit or overhaul the dialogue I dunno if I’ll be that interested.

Pretty sure the 3ds sequel added a nice big shopping mall.

It's cute and a fun time waster

Yeah, they added a big mall, and you can open up your own shop and make jewelry/clothes or whatever you want to sell. I don't speak moonrunes, so I can't play it to see what's actually changed, but the main think I want is just better graphics, they 3ds looked so much better than the original game.

I got new leaf on 3ds due to a Gamestop employee who I made friends with talking me into it. He said ”i know it looks gay, just try it."

I couldn't put the fucking thing down for a while. Tons of activities, solid gameplay... It's a good game.

And no, I'm not a furfag.

A fucking amazing soundtrack that compliments the activities nicely.

describe why this game is fun without using the word "comfy".

Not
>Fuck Isabelle (Lewd)
>FUCK ISABELLE (REEE)

Son, I am disappoint.

It's OK man we're all anonymous here.

>you've outgrown the series
Not hard considering it hasn't developed since the GC. I can get just as much as much enjoyment from some mobile games.

Intrinsic value means that a thing has value just by existing as opposed to the abstract values we put it on everything.

>it hasn't developed since the GC
Just fucking stop, it objectively has developed since the first game, New Leaf has tons of shit the GC game didn't have.

Its okay to say you don't like it, you don't need to downplay everything about it and say its shit or women ruined it to make yourself feel better.

I'm gonna move this goal post and say sure, but they've also removed enough that it may as well be a stand still. There's no excuse for the game to not be more than what it is.

I don't know. I tried to get into this series many times, but there's nothing to do. You earn money to buy furniture and clothes, but mostly of it it's just for show. There's some sort of luck/charm stat to them, and that's it. You don't explore or overcome any sort of challenge. It's slow and the villagers say the same thing everyday. You collect useless things to fill a museum and talk to your many pallet swap neighbors. Really boring game, would not recommend!

Attached: 837982716.jpg (960x960, 73K)

I'm just waiting for the new trailer to drop, that way there could be something new to talk about, regardless if it looks good or bad.

>I'm moving the goalposts
Right, so you're wrong.

Its okay if you don't like it anymore, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the game, it just means you don't like it. It has objectively evolved and developed since the first game.

post your favorite songs:
youtube.com/watch?v=J36o0MZ7EzU

Almost guaranteed it'll be the E3 spotlight game unless they have some other huge new first-party game we don't know about.

How would you feel if it looked like this?

Attached: mk8.jpg (1600x900, 510K)

technically fire emblem, mario maker 2 come out a couple weeks / a month later so those probably get mentioned as well
honestly you should just expect like 5 mins of animal crossing max, they gonna put out another direct closer to release date with more info.
it has been how nintendo do shit for first party for a while now

>Can customize a house and town to your personal liking.
>Can collect a hell of a lot of things like pictures, clothes, umbrellas, decorations, fossils, bugs, fish, paintings, statues, music, furniture, and so on.
>Can befriend a bunch of your neighbors and help them out with things to earn special pictures from them.
>Constant progression system so you're always earning something new, be it a house upgrade, a new item you need, a new tool, a new building, etc.
>Holiday and special events to keep you coming back for unique items and dialogue.
>Social aspect in the newer games to show off your town and trade for unique items from people in different regions.
>Fantastic music.
>Very comfy atmosphere.
It does so much right and it just a great series to relax with.

Attached: Hamphrey is the best.jpg (400x480, 90K)

its insane how many different clothing and furniture options are in each game.

Don't forget that the more games they go they keep giving the player more stuff they can get. I mean hell, they added shoes with NL and there's at least 50+ of those.

What's the best AC to emulate?

Fine, is there something wrong with that?
I'm sure they'll have plenty of stuff to show but we know nothing about AC and its launching presumably a few months after E3. I don't know what else they'd focus on at E3 unless they have another big title we don't know about, we already know plenty about FE and its never a huge seller and Mario Maker 2 launched days/weeks after E3. I think AC will be the game they focus on, like Smash last year.

No, there is nothing wrong with that. I think it looks nice.

am i imagine it or last time on the 3ds new leaf we can also design our own pattern and use it as flag or clothes to wear?
i swear to god i remember we even have a website to make correct pixel to resemblance the picture we wanted

You could make your own patterns in the GC game and use them for flags in Wild World.

You've been able to do that since GC. They even had eReader cards you could scan with specific patterns.

look nice. desu i wouldn't like this if it was a normal sims game like harvest moon because if the town isn't tight packed you gonna waste a lot of time a day just running around
but for the time system of animal it's nice

Actually yeah that's a good point, FE has been enjoying success since awakening but it never got to the number of animal crossing on handheld. I just checked and apparently new leaf moved 12 million unit as of sep 2018, that is pretty fucking insane
December sound a bit too later, but it shouldn't be later octorber to november because it is usually time of pokemon release

you're a real piece of shit you know that?

easy bro, it's just tom nook, not projared

bump

Normally I'd like that, but I like to start a game, play to completion then move on. I don't want to have to do a little bit every day and turn it off when I run out of things to do

Personally, I think it's a game series that you'll either find fairly boring, or you're going to like it a lot. It isn't really a game for everyone.

welp, simulation genre is not for you then

>but I like to start a game, play to completion then move on.
You can still do that. Ultimately everything in the game is a self-made goal and you're the one who decides when you want to put it down in the end. If you just want to pay off your debt then that's fine, if you want to catch only the bugs and the fish before being done that's fine, etc. Yeah, it's on a realtime clock and you are restricted once evening comes around, but ultimately it's up to you if you end up enjoying the game or not. Not everyone is up for the concept of being limited and that's perfectly fine.

I'm expecting August/September for AC, then Pokemon carries the holidays.

And New Leaf was charting in Japan well into 2017 and even 2018 IIRC, it has insane legs.

what was so great about the dialogue in the gamecube version? the animals just gave you tips about the game. there were no interesting conversations to be had.

Remember not to use a straw, user

That's fair, though I find when I start a game I get fully invested and only focus on that until I'm done with it, so if I had 4 hours of game time I wouldn't want to run out of daily things to do after 2, or be limited by seasons etc. This also means if I start a second game alongside it, I'd eventually get too invested in game 2 and lose interest in animal crossing.

I think you're right

I totally get what you are saying, that's why i rarely ever start 2 different games at the same time because i know the chance of me finish only one or even neither just rise up. Only recently I did it, but it was cuphead + another gameso it's not something you really invested heavily into
But maybe it is just the nature of animal crossing, it's just very easy to jump in and out and I don't feel that "pressure" at all, and i think that is the main reason many people play it, strangely to say but they play it to relax

Honestly this, it’s the kind of game you play to wind down and relax with instead of straining yourself trying to beat it, it just makes you feel good when you play it

Seems like I was in the wrong mindset in the past, I'll give new leaf a try and pick up the switch one if it clicks.

How do you all feel about the character episodes in wild world and city folk? I thought they were pretty neat.

Bait

So what kind of animals do you want added? Or does anybody have an idea for villagers for the existing species? I can see them adding to Amiibo by making characters based off the Star Fox characters.
>Lombardi the Eagle
>Cloud the Wolf
>Donnell the Wolf

a doppelganger of the villager

The old villager, I'd want him to say boomer-y things, like how he misses the aerobics fair or balls around the village.
