Press Turn, Grid Tactics, Pokemon Style are true turnbased combat, FF7 being ATB yet again would've been trash like it always had been.

You can shut on ATB all you want but the FF15 combat system is actual ass. You can say ATB is shit, that's fine, but the alternative they chose is absolutely worse

It's still an RPG and all RPGs suck since the 4th gen

Based and redpilled
ATB is no different to FFXV, you can still hold A and beat everything

Totally, Action gameplay can definitely open up better possibilities, but knowing square they likely won't.

Stupid phoneposter

I don't care. ATB > Button mashing KH/FFXV rubbish.

Nomura is a fucking faggot.

that's not true and it makes a difference because it's a remaking the genre of the game.

>you can still hold A and beat everything
>Hold A in FF7
>nothing happens
>die
Wooooow

ATB is way better than the real time combat shit square has done with ffxv . Too bad the remake looks to be a slow methodical kingdomhearts

ATB is shit

This would only apply if REACTION and SPACING matter in SE action games.
SE can't make a good action games, not even in the KH series. All they can do is make floaty, magnetic button mashing shit.

Except the options in the ATB games have more than the turn based ones.

Also Action isn't based around reactions especially not FFXV

Yeah, if they can only make poor action games then FF7 is fucked
But switching to action at least gives it the possibility to better its defensive and evasive options while also developing on managing your party in combat.

ATB just has no ceiling. The faster you make it and the more things you add, it just makes the other aspect more cumbersome.
More reflex? it literally becomes Sans where youre dodging bones while in a menu.

>But switching to action at least gives it the possibility to better its defensive and evasive options
Not really you've just kind of turned it into a button mashing game.

>button mashing game
Youre undermining the reason for mashing buttons though
Spacing, Evasion, Movement and Learning pattern play into defensive play.
If the game was simply offense and potionheal to tank all the hits then definately, thats a button masher because to win you simply fulfill the requirement.

When theres more levels to actually hitting the foe like positioning, options of approach/damage/evasion then it becomes a lot more engaging a game to play because each of those button "mashes" has a goal and meaning.

>KH
>floaty

>Spacing, Evasion, Movement and Learning pattern play into defensive play.
It's not Monster Hunter or Dark Souls user. In every Square action RPG you can just ignore everything, take damage head on and mash to win.
The only exception would probably be superbosses and even then XV's superbosses were pathetic outside of the one that had an instakill.

ATB is great as long as you're not on WAIT mode. The stress of making the right choice before the enemy gets that many hits in is exciting. Also, if you're beating everything by just pressing attack maybe you're overleveled? Try playing the game using the items it gives you and the skills it enables and beat it at the lowest level you possibly can.

The higher your character's level is when you beat the game, the higher your shame.

Well, unless you go for the superbosses before actually beating the game.

Oh yeah, in that case, that doesn't apply, since many superbosses do expect you to have heavily grinded, especially FF ones.

>Also, if you're beating everything by just pressing attack maybe you're overleveled?
lol no, it just means ATB FF is braindead shit that requires no strategy

>t. KHfag
