What's your favourite Hitman game?
Hitman
Never played one
Blood Money, actually.
I like 2
why isn't it by order? pisses me off
So you have to think and stay on your toes.
Blood Money, but Contracts is very good too. Silent Assassin is half great and half shit with the best sountrack of the series. Codename 47 is basically unplayable. Absolution is a good game but not a good Hitman game.
I tried Nu-Hitman and liked it but the elusive target bullshit made me give up on the series.
blood money is the only correct answer
what makes blood money so good bros?
blood money > contracts > (tm) 2 > silent assassin > tm > 1 >>>>> absolution
Go play it and find out fren
you're mad because the devs add new content every couple weeks? that made you give up on the hole series?
The problem is that the content is gated out if you fail it once. I don't like missing out on content.
Yeah I don't love that new suits are locked behind the ETs, but you get the reward for finishing the level regardless of rank. They're just a monthly bonus mission though, and they do actually rerun old ones p often
Blood Money. It's exactly what a hitman game should be.
BM
absolution is not a hitman game
>and they do actually rerun old ones p often
You're not allowed to play them if you failed them already. Even if they're rerun.
contracts > BM > 2, rest are irrelevant
Blood Money. It's the first time I replayed a game right after finishing it. Replayability never mattered to me until then.
Kill yourself you Wojak loving faggot. Braindead meme loving cuck trash
lol no way, really? that does suck actually.
Blood Money by far
>Codename 47
Too easy because you can't get made in a disguise unless you do something really stupid.
>Silent Assassin
The hardest in the series because of how ridiculously easy it is to get made.
>Contracts
Pretty much the same as SA except you already know how to do some of the missions from C47 so it's a tiny bit easier.
>Blood Money
Absolute perfection.
>Absolution
Bad. Too many gimmick mechanics and too much handholding.
>Hitman™
Good, but holds your hand too much with the special takedowns.
If they made you research the special takedowns in ™ by yourself without quest markers, it would have been very close to BM in terms of quality.
I have never met anyone anywhere who has the original Hitman as their favorite.
If you group TM and TM 2 under the same banner (which you should), then it's definitely the best Hitman game. Blood Money has a much better narrative though, as it actually impacts the atmosphere and events in missions.
I have. It's a nostalgiafaggot of the highest order that thinks Hitman is about le dark atmosphere, serious plot, taking itself seriously, etc.. Somehow, they say this yet still dislike Contracts.
If you play HITMAN 2016/2 without any of the handholding or instincts bs, it becomes a better game than Blood Money.
Go ahead try and refute this.
Elusive Contracts ruin it.
So enjoy the rest of the content then? I'm having the biggest blast doing suit only/sniper assassin/no instinct/no mission stories/no objectives/all indicators off/blind. This is truly Hitman. Even BM couldn't approach this level.
The soundtrack is forgettable.
Hitman contracts is the only one i've played but it's one of my favourite games. especially the triad missions, which are all brilliant, and beldingford manor which is haunted house but only by you and traditions of the trade need i say more.
recommend me other hitman games.
>So enjoy the rest of the content then?
No. I do not play games that gate content from me.
first time seeing the ghost i nearly shit myself, i spent so much time playing this game as a teen i started to do SA speedruns and discovered you can garrote the ghost that's wandering in the hallway
Blood Money.
The main problem is that it's by and large built for Instinct. I defy you to name anyone who knew the Silent Assassin way of destroying the virus with a stalactite in Mission 2 without using Instinct first.
They've reactivated Elusive Targets multiple times, so the only reason to hate on them is if you were shit and messed up the mission. Gameplay-wise, they're only on the level of basic escalation missions, so there's nothing to be missed unless you've fucked up more than half of them and got locked out of the cosmetics.
TM2 is pretty much objectively the best game in the series.
>most open ended maps in the series
>most kill opportunities
>most content out of any game in the series when you combine it with the Legacy pack
>highest replay value
>most polished gameplay in the series
>completely customisable difficulty
>expands on BM's mechanics with things like multiple starting locations, more uses for the briefcase etc.
>game is actually designed for SASO
>has the best balancing in the series
BM is only better in terms of overarching story (although TM2's smaller stories and world building are better) and OST. If you take your nostalgia googles off, you'll notice that BM is a lot more limited than TM2 and is also broken due to the trespassing exploit.
why is Codename 47 unplayable? are you talking about a technical issue or a gameplay mechanic? (cus I wanna play them all in order at some point)
lmao come on dude, it's one extra mission a month. you'd play and possibly love the game if they just had nothing instead of ETs?
I want to replay a level as many times as I want. The game gates me from doing that. Thus, it sucks. idgaf about the suits.
Numan is pretty good so far.
Gameplay. It's basically before the series found its identity. Most of the gameplay is either regular ass stealth or bad shooting mechanics. And the game tries to make you switch between both. Trying to stealth through the game is a miserable experience.
If the game did not gate content from me, then yeah, I'd give it a fair chance and criticize its other aspects. But it gets disqualified from the conversation of being the best Hitman because of the content gate alone.
Not him, but C47 was when the basic Hitman formula wasn't established yet. As a result, it can't make up it's mind whether it wants to be an action game or a stealth game. The controls are also horrendous.
Traditions of the Trade in C47 is the mission that became the blueprint for the other games, so that mission's worth playing, but the other missions, not so much.
You can keep replaying and finding new things. You relied too much on instinct and lost your sense of discovery.
oh ok then. I can get past that :) thx user
HITMAN™ 2
There's no going back to the clunky controls of the past Hitman titles.
This user gets it. Traditions of the Trade was the lightning in the bottle that they correctly modeled their series after. That atmosphere, that social stealth, the fun hi-jinks you got yourself into. They expanded on that and that's why the series got good and we got masterpieces like Contracts and Blood Money.
Curiously enough, though, the Contracts remake of Traditions of the Trade nearly completely gives up on this, losing a lot of the fun interactions for the sake of muh ghost.
I've played a lot of Hitman over the last 3ish years, and the elusives keep me interested in coming back whenever I got burnt out. Plus, the marginal room for error you get during elusives makes for some tense moments you can't get otherwise.
Locking people out of suits for completing targets is kind of shitty, but people acting like they're missing some amazing, limited content either don't know what they're talking about, or are greatly overstating the quality of the average ET. For every Sean Bean contract, you get 4 ET's placed in a super conspicuous area surrounded by a few extra guards.
HAHA FUNNY WOJAKs
Glorious.
you can restart the ET as many times as you want as long as you havent died or killed your target, and if you've ever played the map they're on before, you won't die. They're nothing special anyway, you'd basically get the same experience by making a custom contract out of any random npc
idk, its a good-ass game dude, i guess i just dont understand refusing to play or discuss it because they throw in a bonus mission every so often.
I just sniped bean in the latest elusive. It was pretty satisfying.
Traditions was one of the few C47 missions that DIDN'T need a remake. Say Hello to My Little Friend would probably be an alright mission if made using the Hitman formula, but I guess such a remake would be redundant now that we have Columbia in TM2.
That Mumbai mission is so crazy I can't even understand how people finish it in less than a minute.
Nu-hitman is great, but there is something special about Blood Money.
Call me a pleb but I think it has the best ending of any video game I've played.
blood moni
2016. It's just modern Blood Money. And Sapienza and Mumbai are two of the best Hitman maps of all time.
You can alt+f4 even after killing the target and still try again. It's only after you die or exit the mission that you're boned.
>If they made you research the special takedowns in ™ by yourself without quest markers
You know you can turn those off, right?
My biggest complaint with ETs personally is that they lock suits behind them. I wouldn't complain so much if the signature suit didn't look so bizarre with it's lack of gloves.
I'm also concerned about what will happen to the game when the servers shut down in years to come. This is one of the few always online games worth preserving, so I hope they allow us to unlock items offline once the servers close for good.
they're literally re-running the first ET right now and giving you 30 days to complete the mission, crybaby
TM 1/2.
It's like Blood Money, but better.
When a game is developed with spider sense in mind, rule of thumb is that it's unplayable without said spider sense.
>I want to replay a level as many times as I want
Except, again, there's no massive gameplay differences to Exclusive Targets than what you can find by playing the average Escalation. This is the same as complaining that the whole game is ruined because someone took down their user-created Contract.
Kill yourself, my man. The reason I didn't notice it is because I played the game WITHOUT using instinct, and because there's nothing to really tip you off that those stalactites aren't more than part of the scenery, I only found out about it because someone else told me. The only thing to naturally discover is the path through the back that lets you sneak into the lab without a disguise, but the only options you've got once you're inside ruin SASO. Unless you're seriously going to tell me that, while trying to sneak around, you randomly shot into multiple parts of the ceiling, there's not a lot of ways to naturally discover that method.
elusive contracts are excellent and keep the game fresh.
I've put 200 hours in without spider sense, stop being a shitter.
Except it's not in Hitman's case. Instinct is just a glorified real time map. The only reason I have it on is to save me the trouble opening the main map.
Except it's clearly balanced around NOT using spidey sense, retard.
call me a zoomer all you want, absolution is underrated.
yeah those special takedowns were designed to be found by following the quest makers
playing the game without that would be nigh impossible
Silent Assassin was my first Hitman game, and will forever have a special place in my heart.

It actually is. I do most of my non instinct discoveries by going on shooting sprees and kill everyone challenges
Brilliant.
>The missions are shit, so it doesn't matter
Oh, cool, so why are you gating me on them? I know that the majority of them are worthless and barely have dialogue changes or map changes, but that doesn't matter. I'm not paying for a game that I only get 99% access to. In fact, I'm not pirating it either, because it doesn't even deserve my time. It's that simple.
Some of the missions like the one church mission had actual map changes. Or the one where they put a different party (was it a concert?) on Paris. Not to mention exclusive dialogue and models. The breath you're wasting trying to defend this shit misuse of resources would be better spent telling them to stop gating content.
You fail them once or you complete them and you can never play them again. Until IO fixes this, I'm not paying a cent for their games any longer. It feels exceedingly good to me that their shit has flopped.

Holy shit apply yourself brainlet. In 2016 I got all the SPESHUL takedowns and challenges and cheevos without having them turned on, just by playing the game. You're just a brainlet.
My dude people like you are exactly why the optional handholding mechanics are there in the first place.
Why is the last Wojak the only one whose drawn with an Adam's apple?

I did love blood money and i played it at launch so nothing influenced my opinion. Literally was adducted to it and memorized stages like no game before. Dropped Absolution early on. The first two i bought years ago on 360 just became backwards compatible today so i might finally play them.
So? Which special kills did you do in BM that you discovered without any objective marker?
there are npcs all over that scream hints about each one, unless you're sprinting through every area ignoring the environment and conversations happening around you, you're going to have a very good idea of what to do
Imagine not being able to complete the elusive targets. Git gud
Even if you complete them, you can't replay them again. This is indefensible. It's also indefensible that if you fail them, you can never play them again. I'm supposed to pay money for this? Not on my watch.
>I'm not pirating it either, because it doesn't even deserve my time. It's that simple.
So then don't play it, retard. No one's convincing you to spend your valuable time playing a game you don't think is worth it. I like the elusives because it gives me a reason to get sucked back into the game if and whenever I'm burnt out trying to accomplish all the hundreds of other challenges that fill the game.
>So then don't play it, retard
Way ahead of you. That's why Blood Money is still the best game in the series.
>playing the game without that would be nigh impossible
Did you even try?
I turned them off the very first thing on some user's recommendation and then immediately forgot about it. After like 200 hours seeing some webms I was absolutely stunned finding out about them.
If you say so dad
whatever man, it literally doesn't impact the millions of other things to do in the game. you didnt get the gamestop preorder letter opener or whatever so the entire experience is ruined? lmao at your life
Don't care. You can pay money for a game that cucks you out of content with time or after you complete it if you want, but I won't.
I feel proud, just completed my first try in mumbai with SnA/no instinct/no stories/no markers WITHOUT going on a save scumming killing spree. That's pretty big accomplishment.
Almost temped a few times to kill the crow scouts to explore more freely but ultimately didn't.
why do Hitman fans think BM is the greatest thing of all time?
A good disguise system, good levels, good music and no elusive contracts.
That's the way to go. Just taking your time, exploring and being comfy. Good for you.
Dont know, I liked contracts more. BM is still really good though
>A good disguise system
TM does it better
>WITHOUT going on a save scumming killing spree. That's pretty big accomplishment.
?
The disguise system in TM is clearly superior. BM had too many universal disguises. You could grab a random one and instantly have access to three thirds of the level.
And while I know BM's level like my own pocket and love them (except the casino and clinic), TM has Sapienza and Mumbai and those alone BTFO everything else. Granted, Sgail, Colorado and Bangkok are shit, but Apris, Miami, Hokkaido are at least top tier.
Music, well, Kyd left, which is sad.
Elusive Contracts I don't really care about, but they faze me less than always online.
...
TM has elusive contracts and gates content so it's inferior by default. Sorry.
TM has elusive contracts and gates content so it's inferior by default. Sorry. That's why Blood Money continues standing above all others.
You're exposing yourself. TM has a better disguise system, try just arguing that fagtron.
>gets btfo
>B-B-BUT MUH SUPERIOR OLD GAME
Blood Money doesn't gate content, so it's better.
>no argument still
But you forgot that hitman 2 cant GLIIIIIIDE
What was his endgame?
>No argument
You blind? I'm gonna put the argument in brackets so you can see it better. Blood Money is better because [it doesn't gate content, unlike the new ones]
>I'm not paying for a game that I only get 99% access to.
According to this statement, elusive targets make up 1% of the game. Are you really going to abstain from playing a game because you may potentially miss out on 1% of the content? Most elusive contracts don't even give you any sort of special reward, you just get suits for completing a set number of them/ a contract in each destination.
Hitman 2016/2
disguises
I'm not paying for a game that I only get 99% access to. I was pretty explicit on that matter.
You could still enjoy 99% of the content though. It seems like your just gypping yourself out of even more content, honestly.
what am i looking at
>You could still enjoy 99% of the content though
That would require me to spend my time and money playing a game made by developers that have nothing but utter contempt for me to the point that they gate content away from me, which I am not doing since I'm not a cuck.
What is it with Hitman and bringing out the autists. The hardcore fanbase are all autistic about some the changes IO makes, the people like this due are super autistic about timed content. Is it because Hitman is real niche genre?
codename 47
>haha I'm totally a big brain because I played Blood Money in 2017 on someone's recommendation
>developers that have nothing but utter contempt for me
The developers adding in a feature to the game where the player is challenged and can only do each contract once doesn't mean the developers fucking despise you. My point still stands. It would seem you're just trying to wind people up by making such a weak argument.
The games tend to reward with better ratings for being competent and meticulous in your approach down to the most obsessive level. It's no surprise.
Are we considering Nu-Hitman 1-2 to be one game? I'd say gameplay wise, they're the best.
I like Blood Money's level design a lot too, the smaller levels just feel a little better to me.
Contracts (And BM to a lesser degree) has really good atmosphere but the older style of hitman games don't really mesh well with me.
A feature that prohibits the player from enjoying all of the game's content due to arbitrary limits is a subtraction by addition that makes the game worse. You're trying to excuse the inexcusable, my man.
Just stop replying to him ffs, either he's a hopeless sperg or a troll. Holy shit why can't people NOT take the bait for a change?
How are the new ones? Which versions are worth getting?
>triad missions
I was super hyped for the Hong Kong levels because I wanted some comfy rainy atmosphere but I fucking hated them once I got there.
>47 we want these triads to go to war so we can get the leader
>OHHH SHIT they're going to negotiate a peace. Kill the negotiators!
>Ok good job now they'll go to war

Gameplay-wise they are superb.
If you can stomach the jewry, get any version.
Anything unique with the undying this time around?
an eyepatch
Level design. They’re all beautiful, opulent sandboxes with specific yet well thought out themes that you can hang around in casually while you decide how you can and want to take the target out in a way that rewards replaying them over and over. Other games in the series didn’t have as many options and were far more linear.
Some kind of dumb robot
It's exactly one sperg who posts the same thing every thread right down to the phrasing. Don't humor him by thinking there's more than one.
They intended for nu-Hitman to be one engine but a lot of campaigns. TM mk 2 with the legacy pack is the next best thing, pink stickers aside.
C47 is a good game, it's just not the hitman formula that will be adopted afterwards. There are a few mandatory pew pew sections (so did the first Splinter Cell now that I think of it). Contrary to other user I think the controls are ok but the animations are really primitive which makes some of the controls look awkward.
In fact Hitman 2 still has some of C47 jank and pseudo-action missions, just less of it. Contracts is the first game to completely turn into a real time environment-led puzzle game.

Yeah he's fine.
I guess she went down with a Knoxx out
I heard people say that Fabe comments on the previous attempts, but I followed him and his routine was the exact same.
Blood Money. TM and 2 are pretty great but nothing beats Blood Money.
he's packing
god damn, what/how many explosive do THAT?
I didn't notice that 47 has a new fiber wire animation if you're too far away when trying to fiber wire. It's louder though.
i like isle of sgail a lot, what makes so many people dislike it?
TM2 with all of TM1s content is my favorite
Why doesn't Hitman have a better gore system
You'd expect games with the option to shoot up places to have some kind of dismemberment, permanent blood, and better looking wounds
What are you a psychopath?
>What are you a psychopath?
I know what I want is kinda poor taste but still
It wouldn't hurt or anything, and it would make the usual stealth gameplay have more cinematic looking finishes

>final appearance in Hokkaido
>if you open the morgue cabinets you see copies of him

What is the fucking point? Nobody ever uses them.
Contracts is the best one. The meat king's party was kino.
Killing sprees/challenge runs
There aren't many ways to kill the targets SASO.
Blood Money is still the best, but I love nu-Hitman.
Mumbai
Novikov
No preference really
I use whatever works on my first run, then try to figure out opportunities in subsequent runs.
>Waah, it's bad on purpose, why are you complaining?

Do Hitman fans like Dishonored?
I do. All the Dishonored games are excellent. It's a pretty different deal from Hitman. I'd categorize Dishonored more like a Deus Ex type game, but it's sweet as hell.
>Honcho target is easier to kill than the goon target
Fuckin Paris
yes
both are great for their own reasons
Dishonored series is a gem that i dont think will get another game for a few years. I think dishonored 3 would have been perfect if they perfected the mechanics of DOTO
Why does IO think I'm EVER gonna play Ghost Mode enough to get 100 unnoticed kills?
>Getting one target to pick up the explosive cell phone and then engineering a meeting between the two and taking them both out with one phonecall
Better yet, give Novikov the phone and have him answer it while he makes his speech on the catwalk. Or get Sierra to answer it while she stands on the podium on live TV.
Because the kills happen one after the other really quick depending on who you're playing with.

Fixed your image.
You can't just do that and not add one for the shitty movie too.
hey everybody listen up.
blood money isn't very good!
it's consolised UI, zoomed in fov, more linear level design, it wasn't as fun as hitman 2 or contracts.
nuhitman is the best, anyone who disagrees is 100% wrong and has poor opinions
>tfw went to homecoming dance and got fucked up with my friends
>went to his house after and watched the Hitman movie
>the next day shit hit the fan
I don't really remember it because we all shot down a handle in less than 30 minutes but it was OK.
>Blood Money
>linear level design
>make a non-linear sandbox game
>put in a tutorial level that is completely linear and goes out of its way to force you to do specific things instead of teaching you the mechanics and allowing you to apply them
to act like james bond or john wick or some other idiot movie action star that is actually pretty bad at their spy/assassin job
To his credit, Amendment XXV is linear even if it has alternate pathways. In the end, you still have to go to the Oval Office to trigger the boss fight with Parchezzi, kill him and then backtrack to the start of the mission to exit.
2016 is the best one. 2 is good but not as good.
How can anyone hold this opinion? 2 is literally just 2016 with more mechanical improvements.
Too bad the shooting in nu-Hitman is godawful garbage. At least in Blood Money you could have some fun going Rambo with assault rifles and SMGs.
Did they retcon Smith in HITMAN™? Why are they pretending that he doesn't know 47 by name and that he only vaguely recalls being rescued from the rehab center even though he personally hired 47 to kill the vice president in the WH?
Because 2016 had this cool pose when you were in cover and 2018 doesn't.
you have to mix up shooting and retreating with some melee involved. Very hectic but satisfying when you clear out thirty guards in a few minutes.
>doing a normal ghost mode run, win the first one all sneaky-like
>second run going normal
>then I find the Stryker pistol
>opponent eventually ragequits because I'm going on a shooting spree

Sure, we've all done that, but the guns themselves just aren't satisfying to use. They have a retarded amount of recoil, and the firing sounds are just weak.
Maybe, I don't really pay attention to the story. He has a habit of being captured and tortured though so maybe his memory is faulty.
I prefer the missions. The training levels are much better than the shitty NZ mini-mission and don't even take the spot of one of the six story missions. Now that I think of it I think I prefer Legacy 2018 over 2018 itself. So ™ with those mechanical improvements.
Anyone else surprised they did not try to have some "flashback" stories, you know, kinda like contracts, old mission, with new mechanics?
The reason is that almost all of the bad parts of C47 were already remade well in Contracts, SA works fine the way it is for the most part and though Absolution is shit it's still too recent.
This bugs me too. You'd think with all the fanservice callbacks to previous games in the series that they'd remember that small detail.
The way I like to see it is that 2016's missions have higher highs and lower lows, while 2's missions are more consistent in terms of quality all around. Few of 2's missions, while all great, reach Sapienza or Hokkaido levels, but there's also nothing as bad as Colorado either.
That's even more fair considering the tie on the Blood Money suit would wrap over 47's arm.
1/10 IO
>Reddit Money
yikes!
>2016's missions have higher highs and lower lows
That is true. Though recently I've learned to even like Colorado more than I used to when I played it on release. In every Hitman mission the more you know about the level the better you do, but Colorado is one where you need to reach a specific threshold of knowledge before you can overcome a constant state of annoyance but after that it's smooth sailing.
YAME! YAMEEEE!!
Why do people actually play with story missions and objective markers? Git gud
My problem with Colorado is that there are just too many objectives.
Killing 4 targets while also having to enter the tornado shelter is just too much. Even more so when the map is 100% hostile with no civilian areas.
Marrakesh and Colorado both got better as I learned more about them. Bangkok was the opposite, the more I learned about it the more I hate it. I think it's the worst level in 2016.
I still can't figure out how to kill Ken Morgan Suit Only without either poisoning the food or dropping the fixture on him.
Why do you need to do it without poisoning the food?
For fun. I like to have multiple methods of killing targets on hand for challenge runs.
Have you done Himmapan Horror?
That suit is fucking impossible. Really a fire axe as a hotel staff? fucking HOW?
>consolised UI
what do you mean user? the in-game hud is very minimalistic, and you don't even need to use the weapon-wheel since the weapons are also bound to the number keys, unlike the new Hitman (which I still love)
>zoomed in fov
there's always a fov/widescreen fix online if you search, looks really good on my 1440p screen
>more linear level design
it's just smaller really, at the time it was the most sandboxy game in the series
>it wasn't as fun as hitman 2 or contracts
Contracts was really sweet I have to say, but the movement in SA is just to slow for me to go back now.
Also
>the game that let's you dress up as a clown and poison girls underwear

Only other way I can think of is distract him to a ledge and push him off.
I did it, but it was a pain in the ass. The only one I never finished was the scarecrow ones in Colorado. Those are just fucking bullshit.

it should be possible to make him move to the tuk tuk, or the basement without changing disguise (though getting the letter might be a pain).
I don't know, it's been a while since I played that map
