Nah, it's still a good game, and even does a number of things superior to its predecessors (mostly in terms of move sets)
The world and level design and overall visual cohesiveness is the weakest in the series though, and it takes a quantity over quality approach to boss fights. But it's still worth playing

Play a magic build and you’ll have fun.
I personally like enchanting the scimitar and using a kind of int based spell sword build. You have great attacks at every range.
HCSS is also completely broken
