Just found out one of my dogs, black lab, has cancer in his nose and will have to be put down in the very near future. I've come to terms with it but we've got two other dogs (one older and one younger) and my main worry is how they'll deal with it.

An old doggo, part lab or golden I think, looks like a small bear (not that he's that big, just got extra skin on his face). When me and my wife adopted him 4+ years ago I played skyrim, he used to sleep next to my legs while I was playing, and was often waking up in panic, looking at me for attention, until I would pat him back to sleep. I think he used to have nightmares because he was abandoned (he was also crying and barking in his sleep) but he's over it now. I don't think he got much time left and its really hard watching him getting older (it's very sudden past a certain age), but I'm really happy we took him in, even if it's only for couple of years.

I rescued her from neglectful owners that never gave her much love or attention growing up so she's very shy and doesn't like being around people, I've slowly been teaching her not to fear me so I'm just glad she's comfortable enough to be in the same room as me and let me pet her a little.

The only time my cat bought me an offering was when it found a rat in the attic. I was a little annoyed by it but was overall whatever a bout it. I went down to grab some stuff to dispose of the rat, when I returned the rat turned up and ran while my cat watched. Reminded me of when they were much younger. I woukd let them out for short periods of time so they can use it outdoors. One time, they seemed to just be standing in the grass doing nothing staring at it. Suddenly a stray cat appeared, ran straight at him. My first thought was "oh shit", and then there was a squeck from the grass. The stray cat left with a mouse in its mouth and my cat was stunned. I don't think he's very good at killing rats.

I had a similar living situation when my cat was still very young, he wouldnt roam farther then the end of the block and was so mouthy with his meow that all id have to do is say his name and hed sound off, so he never got lost there, but now i live in the bumfuck countryside with like 40 acres of woods in my backyard and 20 acres of field. I plan on building my cat a shelter zone in the field somewhere but in the meantime he can roam the mansion i have. I wouldnt recommend keeping a cat in a small apartment though thats playing with fire.

That family was big, had lots of children, but then the children all moved out and it was iust an old couple. Then the old woman got cancer, and the old man had to sell his home for her medicine money. Of course, the man was from money, and had plenty of property, so he sold me the house his family grew up in for dirt cheap since he needed the money desperately and right that moment.

What does it take to adopt a cat? How does the process work? My family once had a little kitten, literally 6-8 weeks old we got her, and she was great and very good on her own. I was the one taking care of her, but we gave her back because we agreed she was too young. Thankfully, the owner of the litter gave her and her siblings to a lady, so she's happier now I bet.

I euthanized my 14 year old dog on Monday and I'm distracting my mind from thoughts of self harm and immense emotional pain and depression with Smash Ultimate and anime. And its not working.
The vet first diagnosed him with bladder stones, and a week after the surgery diagnosed him with bladder cancer. The images of him yelping in pain every night from the cancer, being pierced with the needle while being euthanized, snoring while awake then finally laying on the metal operating table lifeless fills me with a pain words can't describe. Yes and no. Between him coming forward with some of the information outright and me piecing the rest together based on the go betweens of our legal teams. We had a conversation about it when he finally told me he was taking a trip to florida. Asked him why and he spilled everything. Crabs can be kept as pets but there are specific conditions to be met in the aquariam. Seems like a lot of work to maintain, something I might not be able to handle. The mos lt popular crab pets are hermit crabs, but they don't live for very long in pet conditions taht are poorly maintained. Besides that, I have a preference for true crabs.

There's a huge mastiff in our neighborhood that always gets out and roams around, and by huge I mean literally the biggest dog I've ever seen in my life. Thankfully he's completely friendly. One day my boxer got out and tried to start shit with him for being in our yard, and he just stood there while my dog tried to bite his leg. The absolute fucking unit didn't even care.

I have no pets. Used to have a dog and a cat. They were the best of friends. When the cat had kittens, the dog would watch over them like an aunt while the cat went to do her stuff. Dog died at 13 years old due to some health condition with her uterus - vet said there was nothing they could do even if he saw her when it first started - and when the cat died 2 weeks later we found her in the dog's house.
After they died I found myself incapable of caring for any other animals we took in.

Unless you live in the middle of a city or in a dangerous area it's better to let your cats go outside.
I've had quite 3 run away in my life though, 2 really upset me as a kid. We found one of them and tried to bring it back but he didn't want to come back.
Another ran away when we moved (albeit we only moved liked 5 minutes down the street) but she had been skittish for years after some other cat had attacked her.
Funnily enough after that she preferred to exclusively be outside and we had to try to find her sometimes to get her back in so we could feed her.
I hope she's doing ok and/or someone took her in.
