THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING MADMAN hacked his Switch and posted the results on YouTube. How long until Big N has him deplatformed?
I guarantee the video won't stay up an hour.

Literally who? And Ninty pushed out an update that used a 'boost mode' to speed up loadscreens for certain games.
stop shilling your channel
Digital Foundary, as part of their examination of the official Nintendo overclock, RCM's/jailbroke/hacked their Switch to do custom clocks with homebrew. Nintendo is taking down all videos they can (anything with Switch footage) from channels that show hacking.
Nintendo has targeted youtubers with false copyright strikes before. I doubt they'd try the same scumbag tactic to such a well known website though.
>show hacking
you don't have to show how to do it at all to get false copyright strikes
>Overclocking
So they're boosting an already gimped Tegra X1 chip?
didn't they claim MVG's videos specifically because he showed mario 64, which wasn't officially released on switch yet? their new guidelines state your cant show games that haven't been released/pirated.
That's a strike for them, for sure
They're just getting it to regular stock levels
Closer to the levels it's designed and binned for.
The Switch overclocks beautifully, particularly in portable mode. You can massively increase the smoothness and resolution of games; something like Wolfenstein/Doom can be made to look pretty much like the Xbone version portable.
They claimed it for splatoon 2 which wasn't even in it.
>you don't have to show how to do it at all to get false copyright strikes
But he covered modding though
Nintendo can nuke their channel (or at least their Nintendo content) any time by claiming it all, no? How many of their videos feature at least a second of Nintendo copyrighted material? A good quarter at least I'd guess.
No the switch by default is underclocked even docked but perhaps too underclocked while undocked
Based "Digi UL Fundry".
I personally would have gone harder on Virtua Racing though those colors are atrocious looks like a shitty pastel painting.
Youtube is not a public space but a corporate hosting service
Youtube has allowed other corporations to remove content for years now.
Why are you upset?
They were homebrew videos and weren't claimed for that anyway. Because they're not against the rules even if he was.
The colours look super fucked up on the Switch release (unless it's been patched since?) How does something like that slip through? The whole point is the arcade nostalgia; should have a CRT filter if anything, but at least the correct colours.
The thing is, as far as I remember, the current ruling gives the ability for a brand to copystrike a video that shows anything that teaches how to steal their property
Aka apple could copystrike a jailbreak tutorial
Nintendo can copystrike anything related to piracy, if they want
I havent bought it, SH2 kinda put me off remasters, but it looks great except for the colors.
>they were software exploitation and injection
Ok. They can do that, just stay off line and don't put videos of it on platforms Nintendo advertises for
>Because they're not against the rules
They're a corporate hosting site allowing to upload for free. The rules are whatever
I realized Nintendo was too powerful when all RCM loaders disappeared off of AliExpress. Even Xi bends the knee.

Feels good.
Poor devil's advocate or a shill.
citation needed
>related to piracy
That's an awfully broad term and they aren't striking it for that. They're just abusing the normal system.
They're basically a scam anyway.
how is this worse than episodes they do where they use emulators?

Just a realist on the situation.
Youtube is not a public space
I bought one off AliE works great.
Which everyone knows
So you're just here to show everyone how much you love corporate cock
>461518720
Just telling it like it is. They're abusing the system which is a complete sham and doesn't function at all as advertised. Deal with it.
I'm not sure if it's what they want to do or if it's already in line
I saw a couple of videos about it a while back because places like ifixit were pretty much fucked if that happened, the right to repair and all that jazz
They're nice for portability but a USB-C cable does the same job if you have a pc or phone.
If Nintendo is allowing 3rd parties to use these higher clocks now then I'd expect it to be the norm going forward for games that benefit from it (basically anything but 2D indieshit).
I'm disappointed they haven't overclocked the memory though. Seems like that's where the easiest performance gain is for a lot of games, with the Switch's tendency to choke on fill-rate (transparency effects, etc.)
>Nintendo will release a pro console that is basically just an overclocked switch
lmao
Are you implying that isn't what the PS4 pro is?
you cant 'overclock' memory.
overclocking is the process to force a CPU to go faster than its intended base or max speed (i.e: force a 1.2Ghz MAX CPU to go up to 1.8Ghz or higher).
in order to deal with memory issues you need more ram, and that can only come with new hardware revisions.
no because games need special patches to run faster
LMFAO
>he doesn't just download more RAM
PS4 pro literally has a boost mode too you fucking retarded faggot
If you're trolling you got me, but you absolutely can overclock memory.
Why didn't he test GPU overclock?
you can get more of your memory. factory just limits them for safety/stability reasons
Seems like a really limited video if he's going to the trouble / risk of overclocking with CFW. Might as well test lots of games at lots of overclocks. Perhaps that's coming next.
If it's binned for this higher frequency why do they underclock it? To make the batteries last longer?
battery and heat
Slight memory overclock (1300>1600mhz) totally fixes BOTW: twitter.com
Yep and to keep the system cool and not overheat
Of course you can overclock memory, what are you talking about. If fetching data from RAM is the bottleneck you can increase perfs significantly by doing so.
And to prevent overheating because switch is built with cheap plastic and no metal midframe. It will bend under stress.
Besides the above mentioned battery life and heat, a games console normally needs to be able to guarantee a performance level without throttling, unlike a phone or PC which can throttle back to below-stock-clocks if things get too hot.
The CPU overclocks Nintendo is doing now for loading, they just go on for a few seconds so it's apparently OK, but the system probably couldn't sustain that.
The system can sustain it because we've been OC'ing hacked switches for months now
The community overclocks won't have throttling built in likely; the system will run at whatever you tell it to until it cooks itself.
