Life is beautiful
I'm looking for a really comfy videogame
I don't mind platform as long as I can emulate
I don't mind singleplayer or multiplayer
I just need to calm my soul
played some animal crossing and it's a good option
holy fuck I loved teldrassil and darkshore

Out of everything I've played, Terraria is up there. I know it's often seen as a meme minecraft clone but the feeling of returning home after a long dive thousands of meters underground is comfy. The music helps a lot.
I played the demo
looked really good aesthetically and comfy
this game needs more recognition, one of the best on ps3. IMO a better game than the last of us, definitely more fun to play.
Animal Crossing as a kid, back before I learned the optimal ways of making money in the franchise and actually played it the intended way instead of grinding out bells as quickly as possible
Is that just Otacon?
His personality's more DMC1 Dante

Behold my list of comfy:
>Stardew valley
>Black and White 1 and 2 were pretty comfy. >Sims is peak chill, weather it's building stuff, making people to add to towns or just playing around in the world.
>Somewhat surprised at how comfy dead island was for me,I'd keep coming up with one liners and puns while throwing stuff at zombies, kicking them down stairs and removing limbs.
>FEAR, the fights just feel good, I didn't even care when they'd get me, I'd just feel like they earned it.
>Zoo Tycoon 2

Soon..
Anything I played as a kid
This.
Something was lost in the last few years, I guess. I'm not saying the game is worse, because I can always wipe the dust from my old consoles and put some classic on, but maybe it's all because... I have too many things to play, and so little time. Sometimes I just rather shitpost on chan or watch a movie than pick one RPG from my list and start it, especialyl when I know it's gonna take at least 30 hours of my life.
SaGa Frontier 2 was super comfy.
Stardew valley
Harvest Moon (Or Story of Seasons whatever) is the only right answer.
final fantasy 9
the witcher 1
Red Dead Redemption 2

>Crash Bandicoot 2

This
assasins creed 3
FlyFF because back then I didn't have crippling social anxiety and depression and I didn't give two fucks if I played for two weeks and made 0 progress

god I love that game so much I can't wait for the remaster
My diginigger
>The Movies.
is there any way to get this running on win10? i miss this game so much
Minecraft, Terraria, Stardew Valley, Space Engine, and unironically Skyrim with lot of mods.
cataclysmdda
felled trees and made a log cabin in the woods, with a homemade metal wood stove with a chimney, some plants growing outside, I would just walk down to the lake to catch salmon and shit, and every once in a while hunt deer with my rifle, and use its fur for clothing, its sinews to repair my stuff, pickle its organs and smoke the meat
I was eventually killed by a giant centipede who snuck into the house silently and beheaded me in my bed as I slept
its a fucking cruel, comfy game
seriously though, fuck your comfort.
Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC
No idea, fren haven't tried it on windows 10 and seeing as lionhead is long dead and it can't be found on gog, your only chance is probably a fan made patch.
Oblivion
Roller coaster tycoon 2
Unironically one of those naruto arena fighters games. The story mode was so chill I spent 90% of my time just running around getting fucking coins.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
mega comfy
Rayman Revolution
Probably Minecraft
Gravity rush 1 and 2, kh3, Ape escape, Klonoa 2 and Spore creatures comes to mind.
VA-11 HALL-A
FEAR’s atmosphere is so awesome it blends into comfy. Also I watched my dad play it when it came out so nostalgia
Fuck, it all just came back.
Falling into the camp's routine, learning guard behavior, where certain items can be found and how to get them to certain parts of the camp, remembering not to run if you're dressed as a guard, missing rollcall and having the elite guards come looking for you...
Peak comfy
yeah it was great fun to just explore too and figure things out, felt like you could do it all in your own time, while making sure to be back for roll call, or you could miss roll call and still get things done if you found a good enough hiding place.
and yeah, you had to do things methodically, as you could lose items if you were caught with anything by the guards, had to plan things out.
Civ V is super comfy on the lower difficulties.
STALKER was oddly comfy. Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight too
Graveyard keeper
This, great if you like AOE.
Playing this on Christmas break as it rained heavily outside. Comfy nostalgia kinography.
Gothic 2 NOTR on my 55th playthrough (not kidding)
Probably Eufloria. Something about the music and the simplistic gameplay kept things super fucking comfy even when you get to the harder levels.
wow, user, I have memories like these too
This.
Cities : Skylines
My nigga. I play both minecraft and terraria but terraria is my absolute favorite. Good memories.
I'm playing FFX for the first time right now and it's super comfy. Nothing like a good turn based game when you're in the mood.
MGS4 is my all time comfiest game though, especially watching the cutscenes from the perspective of Otacons drone, hanging out in this comfy air plane with these characters you've come to love over the years, going on this globe trotting adventure.
>near christmas
>cold as shit outside
>inside with blanket
>playing this sucker on my 386, of course with enabled turbo button

Kirby Super Star on my PS Vita
Mot a weed guy myself, and heroin is too fucked up. Wouldn't had guessed that Ireland has drug problems tho, you seem so peacefull on your little floating piece of earth over there.
Yeah especially when you get to Dublin. Junkies everywhere. But it's not that bad really. The countryside is nice at least!
Top tier cozy. I play it when it starts snowing here, even my wife says she feels comfortable when she hears me playing.
>hgggnnnn
The Multiplayer, god dammit
Fable 1
Nothing has come close to the feeling I had playing this. It's not a good game, but the music, atmosphere, setting, and almost everything else was perfect.
Lego Island
How much of comfy experiences with games is related to the time, environment and state of mind in which you first experienced a particular game?
Days Gone? Is this worth a rent?
What should I expect?
AC for gamecube still remains one of the comfiest experiences ever, shenmue 1/2 are top tier too and ss13 is pretty comfy asweel
>Pazifistische Odin-Shirt tragende Katanaschwuchtel

>katamari
>club penguin (I'm not kidding go and look back at the 2007-10 era stuff)
>minecraft
Gravity Rush 2
GTA III
That second one is probably a weird choice, but I guess it's a mix of nostalgia and liking rainy, autumnal weather.
REmake. I love turning that shit on at night in the late spring/early summer, cracking open a window, and letting the smells of rain in the air, cool breeze, and sounds of crickets and frogs enhance the atmosphere.
This, especially if you play with survival mods so you have to eat/drink/sleep/stay warm and roleplay as a low level pleb instead of the hero of destiny. Going out on lonely hunting trips, barely breaking even, nearly freezing to death on the way home, it just makes the fireplace even comfier. Fuck, makes me wanna reinstall it right now.
old school runescape
A fair bit. But some games can properly amplify those feelings. I think those are the real comfy games.
I will fully admit that I've turned on Skyrim VR, and just chilled in the inns while having a beer or two. It is pretty relaxing.
Idk why because I haven't played it, but I feel like it would be comfy to play that Grimoire game. Especially if it was in a fancy study full of old books, and playing on a ThinkPad while sitting at a fancy mahogany desk.
Reus. Who would have thought giant monster gods pounding their fists into the earth would be so comfy?

Viscera Cleanup Detail. Surprisingly comfy cleaning guts and limbs off the walls. One of those games where I think I'll play for 5-10 mins and it turns into 2 hours.
Pokemon Platinum. Sinnoh’s piano soundtrack and snowy climate is peak comfy.
Maplestory the first couple of years it came out. Nothing will ever give me the same feel.
A bit dark at times, but mostly comfy and fun strategy game
My nig, absolute comfy games.
The mazes people make in private rooms on habbo hotel.
Minecraft comes close
Building a small beach town with friends in MC in survival mode has been max comfy these past few weeks
GR woodlands with bros to plan base attacks
Loving octopath while bedridden, that ost is goat
Crono Trigger
Gta4 roam
Gta3
Any sims game
Mirror moon
Ghost recon island thunder
The fract Osc
Gran Turismo 3 and 4. I'm honestly pretty shit but it's so nice when you get a car set up right so it just moves through corners like a dream. It helps that it the first game I ever had for my ps2.
Fallout new vegas
Minecraft
Sacred
Skyrim
Diablo 2
furfag
The original animal crossing. Music was kino. The music and general atmosphere in the later games feels a little soulless by comparison
I think a game with underrated comfiness is I am setsuna. The cold environments with the soft piano soundtrack just makes you wanna sit by the fireplace and drink something warm. Or some gay shit like that
Stalker SoC
Thief 1 gold
Fallout 1
As a zoomer playing old school PC games after their heydays have long passed, on a rainy night, is so comfy.
>This…this is a flavor for a true connoisseur… This flavor…this strong flavor… Only the overwhelming flavor remains… It tastes so terrible I want to cry...
sunk hundreds of hours into this game just to max my stats on all my pokemon
Forager is comfy until you realize you just spent $20 on a slightly more complex mobile game that's worth $5 at most.

Was that the one that had like, a points scoring system and the better you did the ommre points you got so your team would win? And there was a gun so you could shoot those cunts when they were being uppity but you got like almost no points for it, and the assassins could just spam smokebombs on a person and punch them over the head repeateadly for milliions of points and they literally couldn't do anything about it unless their team came to save them? That one was hilarious
I too like that pokeyman

This song scared the shit out of me as a kid but now I can’t stop listening to it. Probably my favourite VGM track of all time.
If you haven’t played the game the song probably sounds pretty boring, and that’s fair. But throughout the game, the flute had been an instrument used in practically every track, it was a recurring instrument that everyone was familiar with. In a soundtrack with so many ancient and unfamiliar instruments the flute was the one that you could recognise and rely on.
But the flute in this track’s absent, just a melancholic cello reverbating through a song with nothing but ambient drumming and plucking of strings.
Then, subverting all expectations, the flute comes back and follows along with the cello, almost gossiping with it as if there’s a secret in the mineshaft that the player doesn’t know about. Adds so much to the atmosphere.
And this is just one example of the techniques used in the BGM of this game to multiply the adventuring atmosphere by tenfold. This one just really stood out to me as it was the first song to legitimately spook me as a child/early teenager that I can remember.
Blog post over, fucking hell I love this OST.
but only the postgame
i enjoyed just aimlessly walking around the region
Hows the gameplay? Mood seems right up my alley.
Minecraft, but Oblivion is a close second

That is a very comfy track, user. Never played Crystal Chronicles, but I appreciate it.
Do yourself a favour and pick up the remaster whenever it comes out this year
what a comfy post :)
When are we going to get a sequel, Pinatafren?
isn't that Fez?
It was surprisingly fun. It's also one of the system's earliest games so it was heavily advocating the use of the ps3 controller's gyro. You also play as a cute girl, that's a plus.
Decided to play Pikmin 2 on a whim yesterday and have had more fun than any modern game has brought me in years.
Dragon's Dogma
Monster Hunter
Dark Souls 2
You will enjoy Outward
Any way to play this or the first game now a days?
Dark Alliance 2

This.
Unironically Minecraft.
One of the few games I can sit there for hours just building shit without any real goal or objective in mind.
i finally got around to backing up all my gr2 photos, rip in peace.

Ragnarok Online back when it was relevant. If heaven is literally made specific for each person, mine will just be Ragnarok Online with full dive.
Is there any good romhacks that use platinum?
Anyone?
same here
damn, even playing this as a dumb kid who couldn't read english and barely progressed, it was still peak comfy
that's because you didn't play gothic 2
Skyrim. (very modded)
I made money with potions.
So i between adventures I would come home to whiterun, organize my loot, wait for a nice day, and then head out to pick fowers and catch butterflies. Had a nice route all set up that covered a decent portion of the map. Good times. I also liked the idea of my daedra worshipping orc necromancer prancing around in fields in his off time.
The old Haven & Hearth 2D.
Lame combat was shit.
katamari
the remaster is genuinely guaranteed to be my goty
Holy fuck i knew i was not the only one who remembered how comfy this was
This shit was so fucking grindy and pointless.
It's not a video game but video work.
patrician taste
Sea of Thieves just got a lot comfier with the fishing aspect and all the shitters migrating to Arena, now it's become Sea of Sanjis because everyone's just looking for rare fish to cook.
Any good romhacks for Platinum? Like a complete pokedex version or some Yea Forums Clover-y kinda thing?

It was a mild disappointment and now I need to pirate it since they added UPlay retroactively which causes it to crash, but its still a very comfy playthrough every few years
Is Sea of Thieves actually good? I always thought it looked really comfy but then when it came out people said it had nothing to do.

How the fuck did the original Animal Crossing make poverty and wage-slavery so comfy
Only correct answer coming through
what game is this? i have seen many people post this one like a meme or something, starbound?simrollercoaster?
Original Paper Mario, and Harvest Moon 64.
I've always wondered - why is the term "comfy" only acknowledged by retards on this site? How come no one else looks at something like a supply closet or a dark train station and thinks "that's comfy as fuck"
Played the demo. Was nice and warm and sunny.
depressives find comfort in melancholic environments
factorio
Banished is super comfy.
Honestly Minecraft just because of the music.
>Was nice and warm and sunny.
but NOT cyberpunk which is not nice, cold and moony
>only acknowledged by retards on this site?
It isn't, it's a fairly common word. You're just an autistic mutant who doesn't understand the use of the word.
IS that where you build buildings and energy buildings for the buildings so you can build more buildings?

That old Hobbit game from way back. Play this all the time smoking my pipe on my front porch when my cousins come over for the summer. Cant find a way to play this game though I wish it was on Steam

PEAK comfykino
Game Boy Pokémon, Oracle Zelda, Link's Awakening, Wind Waker, SimCity (2000, 3000, and 4), and Super Mario RPG all come to mind. Maybe SNES Harvest Moon too. Chibi-Robo, maybe it was just the specific time and place of my life I played it, it just feels like a bad fever dream.
I wish England was like the Shire.
Ive played since day 1. It's a new fucking game. The fun increases exponentially playing with friends. I'd recommend if you have people to play with, skip it if you'd play solo.
>smoking your pipe
premium soi
oh hell yeah that game is a classic, in need of a re-release. also that other lord of the rings game based on the book is comfy except for that bit with the black riders at night. in fact that was awesomely done, starts with the idylic shire setting, then manages to make the same map seem completely menacing at night using only music and shadow/lighting. shame about the rest of the game, especially after rivendell. nice music/atmosphere though.
Gothic 1 and 2 and even 3 and Risen 1
peak comfiness, top tier soundtrack.
>It's a new fucking game
Do you mean, they've added a lot of stuff since? And yeah I wasn't really thinking of playing it solo, I'd wrangle some pals in for it.
Cyberpunk can be whatever you want it to be
Imagine being such a fucking loser that you conflate everything to your obsession with beans. Jesus Christ how pathetic lmao
uhhhh...
does anyone still have cubeworld installed?
Yes
the comfiest for sure
forgot the pic. sorry.
Probably Minecraft on peaceful building, crafting, and mining. Or Spiral Knights in the earlier levels.
BASED
i really tried to get into stardew but after 5 hours or so it ended up feeling like a chore simulator.
Getting high and playing Chulip was the best. Just camping out waiting for a weirdo to pop out of the ground so I can solve their puzzle and kiss them.
Probably because it was too sunny for a cyberpunk game
holy fuck the "remaster" looks like dogshit
Is Chulip a good game?
DUDE WEED

Silent Hill unironically
Fighting games are weirdly therapeutic for me
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
brotherhood is pretty cool as well
i'm biased cause i live in rome though
got tired with revelations
Chulip isn't comfy at all.
cinque

Yeah. Tons of actual content compared to the sandbox that it was before.
plants vs zombies
Persona 5.
youtu.be
I always found silent hills game play loop to be comfy. Scanning every alleyway and Crack for items is therapeutic. The droning dark ambient helps with the habit I find myself in.
Yeah, even without the dudeweed it was a creative blend of genres where progressing and exploring was very rewarding.
And yeah, one of the genres blended into it was horror. That creepy cultist neighbor, that homicidal cop, that doctor that would roam the streets dressed as the devil...the gimp in his office. There's plenty of unnerving shit going on, but it's maximum chill when you're enjoying the sunset waiting for a timed event to come around.
LotRO was top tier comfy
this as well, ACII is god tier
va-1 hall-a
this fixes my soul
Yes, Silent Hill 2-4 is top notch.
Lone Survivor and Detention too.
Now that I think about it I don't think I've ever played a truly comfy game, the closest would be a mmorpg called mu, and gta san andreas
Is Crystal Chronicles worth playing single-player? Idk whether to pick up the Gamecube one for peak /cozy/ or just wait for the Switch remaster later this year

wow was also very comfy way back when my friends played it.
I played the gamecube version with my brother, me and him went two-player and I much prefered that to single player but that could just be because I was playing it with someone I knew.
With the remaster they’re adding online, so I’m not sure if that’d be with a random online lobby for each level (although I’m not sure how that’d work with the RPG element of the game), but singleplayer should still definetely be an enjoyable experience.
I’d wait for Nintendo’s E3 conference and see when they announce a release date, then decide for yourself whether it’s worth waiting for or if you should pick it up on GC now. I’ll likely end up playing the remaster single player and it’ll still be my GOTY.
Keep in mind though, the game is still gorgeous on GC so don’t let its age turn you away.
Breaks my heart knowing that my brother won’t be able to play the remaster.
the first Klonoa. rented it on a whim and played through it like 5 times.
also Tetris Attack
Probably World of Warcraft. Haven't played it in years but no game has come close to the feeling of leveling in Elwynn Forest, just chilling at an inn, or fishing

sims i guess
I've been trying to get into that for years. Think I'll give it another go. Any tips? I just always stop playing after an hour then never touch it again. But it is really cool for that hour and I always wonder what couldve been.
Majora's Mask. I'm not sure why because it seems like it wouldn't be, what with the imminent doom and destruction that's literally hanging above your head the whole game. But in a way that helps to increase the vibe of it all, makes it all feel more real and melancholic. I'd spend hours and hours just hanging around Clock Town or exploring Termina field, completing the side quests (Kafei & Anju one really gives me a fuzzy feeling inside) just trying to find all the small aspects of the game. Even the last day is really comfy, seeing everyones different reactions and just waiting around for the world to end, knowing it doesn't really matter anyway.

Frostpunk
Total Annihilation

Parasite. Pre-2000s setting is always comfy. Especially if it's on Christmas.
I should really play these games.
Parasite Eve*
Danganronpa 1 when most of the students are dead
Saints Row 3 when its night time and you're hanging out in unpopulated areas
Hitman Blood Money
I'm brainlet tier but i like trucks.
Max Payne or Majora's Mask, hard to choose.
This. I used to play 2 and 4 with my older brother. The room is my favorite game ever. I bought it again recently on ps2 with a guidebook.
Dragons dogma first playthrough
Spbp
Chulip is maximum comfy. The caws of the crows, solving puzzles, and music. I wish I still owned it for collection's sake.
>Chao Gardening in Sonic Adventure 2.
>Exploring the world in Skies of Arcadia.
>Bundled up in my hoodie while playing Pikmin 2, exploring the ruins of post-humanity earth. The product placement never felt egregious and reading their logs made me feel smart because I knew something Olimar didn't.
>Getting through a day with no Pikmin lost.
>Burying Shogo alive in Saints Row 2.
I miss when Saints Row took its story seriously.
The Master was based, so was Frank.
Serious question guys. Have you tried pic related? I really like the mood in this game. There is something in this game that makes it different. Super underrated. It's iPad point and click game tough.
Absolutely nothing will ever come close to the level of comfy of Legend of Mana.
To date, no game manages to replicate it in any of its good sides, be it beautiful artwork, sense of adventure, or imaginative setting.
>Saints row 3 becomes more flashy and silly
>It sells the most because it's not a bootleg GTA anymore
Wow hooda thunk it
I wish I still had a little sister who would hold onto me when she's scared.
At least I have a niece who's gonna turn 5 sometime
>it sells because it appeals to the lowest common denominator
fixed that for ya.
the game died with the boat mission
I know it’s new and the writing is campy but the train is nice
Only thing better is the vineyard from blood and wine
iFluid

Big comfy
>Heave lads,
>Ho lads,
>Forget comforts of home you're a nomad.
Certainly not the MOST comfiest game I've ever played but not really worth making its one thread about so I figured I'd post it here since it really is pretty comfy (when not being chased) and atmospheric. Could be legit scary af if the dude who's developing it would hurry up and replace those place holder monsters and animations (the dudes that hop out of the enemy cars) and adds more shit to the game. Maybe a acutal monsters that chase you around on foot/by flying (but without you actually getting of your car? I hope this dude gets a team together as well.
Bully
Also known as:
"Careless Youth Simulator"
Hey man, fuck you let me have this.
The game as a whole has aged, but I'll always love that old-school academy atmosphere.
Soul Reaver
Hearing the old Psychonauts campsite theme always feels like coming home.
This reminds me of Bomberman 64, so I'll just mine is Bomberman 64
Star Wars Galaxies.
this
Sonic Adventure, fuuuuck.
This.
But I like to turn the biters off for max comfy...and to maximize ups for my megabase.
Aside from Factorio, there's also this ancient game called Giants: Citizen Kabuto, but I doubt anyone played it.
I actually just started a file in RDR2 a few weeks ago to find the ideal stopping point in the story, I think I'm there.
>Micah's in jail
>Arthur and John pulled off the train heist
>went fishing with Jack
Also I've explored most of the map so I can get practically anywhere without worrying about getting lost. How do I capitalize on this, specifically where are some of your favorite hunting/fishing spots?
Ratchet and Clank 2
TIMMY
Pikmin 2 was the best of the three for sure.
Also loved the bestiary with both Olimar and Louie's commentary, as well as the item descriptions with Olimar and the ship.
Doubt it's comfy, but I wouldn't mind playing it.
Sounds like it has a lot of issues, though, so I'm waiting for it to update in the hopes that they'll fine-tune the thing.
Magic Melody was my jam.
i just installed it the other day, played for like 5 minutes and got bored
Harvest Moon.
unironically my comfiest game
Love the idea of living in a rainy wooded castle with my old mentor just exploring everyday
Bastion
How the fuck do I really enjoy Oblivion? Whats the strat? Consolefag here so no mods.
Holy shit that brings back memories. I can't even have been 10 the last time I saw this.
>Maga
How's that plan to make Mexico pay for the wall going?
What a waste
>still waiting for update
I played it vanilla on console and loved it but I have thick nostalgia goggles for it.
Always rotate saves, because Bethesda.
Don't feel shame in switching over to easy mode when level scaling starts to make every average joe enemy into a huge damage sponge.
Don't feel the need to go into every Oblivion gate you see. Some are quest-vital but they get old very quickly.
Shivering Isles was great.
Based, I still remember the poor smartie kid.
There was this project on kickstarter a while ago from Giants devs that unfortunately did not get funded. A real pity, it looked mighty interesting.
Stay on topic dumb redditor
french are good at comfy art style
>Kickstarter for "Spiritual successor" by "original developers"
Bullet dodged.
Max Payne 2
grabbed by the ghoulies
>comfiest
More like, cum feast! Am I right? High-five?
Ecruteak

I now associate it with 4am sessions under my duvet.
Dungeon Fighter Online is really comfy if you have ADD. Warning: loud as fuck.
