Why is it still the best one? Why are 4 and 5 worse?
Why is it still the best one? Why are 4 and 5 worse?
Rage 2 is going to beat it
4 was better
>Why are 4 and 5 worse?
They're not, though. Each Far Cry game has made significant improvements over its predecessor. Far Cry 3 is a creaky game with a tedious central game structure. Later games such as Primal and New Dawn are huge improvements over it. Far Cry 5 is also excellent.
But I didn't like 4, 5 or Primal.
SOUL
5 is kino though
5 was miles better
But 4 had the best story and the best villain
killing filthy rapist pirates is gratifying
>*Blocks OP's path*
The opening scene with Pagan Min in Far Cry 4 is better than literally every single Vaas scene in Far Cry 3 put together. And I say that acknowledging that Vaas was a really well done antagonist.

Because you were older when you played them. Anons have tendency to romanticize older vidya.
agreed. 3 was the highest ubisoft went. now its just downhill. next game set in modern day china calling it now
2 > 3
because it doesnt have retarded bullet simulation or throw you into boring story missions with magic tranquilizer bullets
god why the fuck did they do that in 5, i could be in space and they'd still magically shoot me
>glorified tech demo that had unfun gameplay mechanics and whose only redeeming factor was its atmosphere
yeah how about no
2 was best one
Massive potential ruined by some of the most painfully repetitive mission structure and map teaversal ever.
>because it doesnt have retarded bullet simulation
Far Cry 3 hitscan is dogshit.
2 was by far the best and anybody who can't see that is a pleb with shit taste and their opinions are worthless.
I fully acknowledge the annoyance of the checkpoints, which is stupid. It's guns are also inferior to later games. But it's map system pisses all over later games, it's very good at immersing the player. It also didn't have LMAO SO WHACKY! dickhead side kicks because the game was ok with sitting quietly for 10 minutes while the player did things, the world felt a lot more serious and you really did get that comfy feeling of being all alone and isolated in a far off land. Which really combines to build the game's world.
Later Far Crys completely destroyed this with a map that feels like you just move between collectable points and wild animal areas on the screen and guard posts or whatever you have to clear. It feels like a theme park instead of an actual world.
2's fire system is also still superior to that in later games.
*traversal
it would've been tolerable if headshots actually killed people or they didnt take 40 bullets to the chest
Driving around is unironically one of the best things in Far Cry games though. Even FC2 has big enough areas where you can have a leisurely ride around without being attacked.
Because they were soulless rehashes. 3 was a great success so they just did the same thing again.
I just wish the vehicles were faster, you never really feel like you've floored it.
Hard to do well with a keyboard but I do agree it would have been better if it was possible to go faster. Maybe add some keys to change gears and thus accel + max speed.
Primal ended up being too empty to live up to its ambitions. Agreed that 4 and 5 were fantastic advances, though.
>Far Cry 2 is ten years old
Man, I still remember getting this game from a friend.
Too many checkpoints with rubberband enemies that caught up to your car every single time you tried to drive past or through. It gets annoying after a while.
Great game to reinstall for a day, but an overall chore to play through in its entirety.
hate to say it, but 4 > 3 > 5
I love to say it personally
3 was the high point. It's the soul vs soulless thing I think. Technically the newer ones are superior but it's like eating tin spaghetti vs homemade.
