I loved 3. Beat 4 once and i thought it was meh. Didn't even fucking touch the dumpster fire that was 76.

3 was alright. Not as well written as New Vegas, and not the follow-up to the first two games that old fans wanted, but it still had its fun moments.
4 was Skyrim-tier. Not god-awful as some people say, but just kind of big, repetitive, and disappointing.
76 is schadenfreude-tier. In which most of us can laugh at greedy higher-ups rushing out a blatant cash grab that collapses under the weight of its own poorly optimized hubris, and pity the handful of devs actually trying to make such a bad idea work in the first place.

Good and worthy successor. Some people hate the story telling in it, but it's pretty much in line with how ridiculous the story in Fallout 2 gets. People who disagree never actually played Fallout 2.
