How do you see /fa/ on frontline?

Turn on team markers for all friendlies, then turn off team-based coloring. Both are in the game section of settings.

Not him, but its makes me sad when I'm having fun, just figured out a player's blind spot, then some fucker comes up and blind sides me or shove his spear up his ass.

make it so if you make a character with the rapier on it it auto perm bans you from the entire game

Not him, but pressing H a couple of times in-game puts an emblem over your teammates heads, meaning you can disable team colors in the settings while still easily being able to tell friend from foe.

Am I the only one running a scavenger build? Complete lvl3 armor, bloodlust, scavenger, shortsword. Just pick shit up from the floor or kill some retard with your shortsword, suddenly you have ~25 points worth of gear instead of 16.

you realize shields are getting nerfed hard, right? they're currently broken and you're going to be a bottom tier shitter when you have to learn to parry.

it's not even OP, it can be quite hard to rack up a lot of kills with it because you can't just run into the frontline and swing that executioner sword for lots of kills, i find it fun for a bit more conservative play, actually playing objectives though.

my new tactic today was using war axe and 2x smoke bomb and just running past the enemies straight through middle and then chopping away from behind.

It is OP because a competent user is legitimately unkillable in a 1v1, which is exactly why they're fixing it in a coming patch. The only counterplay currently is to have two people attack him from opposite sides.

Winning is fun though. However, winning while doing something stupid is extra fun. The greatest fun is going hard with nonstandard or even subpar builds and winning anyway, so their mindset isn't completely wrong, they just need to loosen their definition of what is able to win them the game.

everyone is complaining about shields, spears and rapiers, but honestly the thing that really brings my blood to a FUCKNIG boil is how unbalanced frontline maps are. red is a guaranteed win, regardless of individual skill level because literally EVERY map caters heavily to red in some fashion
>Camp: red gets a ballista overlooking second point and a cata. blue gets jack shit
>taiga: blue spawns are absolutely fucked, completely unable to stop red from capping mid once it's contested as you spawn a few parsecs away from the objective
>grad: red, again, has favorable spawns and multiple natural approaches to stables, blue has ONE (one) (uno) natural choke that they can easily get meatgrinded in
>MP: last for blue is literally RIGHT NEXT to their second, last for red is pretty much INSIDE of their spawn. midfight is typically balanced enough, however
i swear they need to fix this before people start realizing and ragequiting frontline in droves, otherwise no one will want to play any of the post-launch maps in frontline because of how atrociously balanced launch maps were

I do have one such loadout (221, Bloodlust, Scavenger, Dodge, Short Sword), but I can't rely on others dropping my favored weapons.
There will be many Executioners, Spears, Rapiers, Zweihanders, and a few others always lying around.
Messer and Bardiche are not nearly as common. I usually fall back to my 332 Bardiche in TDM and 231 Bloodlust Messer in Frontline.

Chamber their stab and immediately morph it into a side swing, gets them every time, you have to accelerate the swing tho so move your mouse in the direction your swing will go right when your character releases the wind up

Its just too fast, long reaching and cheap to equip for how strong it is, especially against armour, have it be a good weapon, but not that effective against full armour and cost so little.

nah, chambering your stab into an acceled morph strike is way faster than recovery + combo windup time on their second stab, and their stab cant chamber yours because you've morphed it into a strike

Good idea though that'd mean you have to make due with the hammer alone to survive.

It's easy enough to get by since everyone underestimates characters with light armor or small weapons. Just block a few blows, then start laying down the smackdown before they start trying to morph and feint.

Also, if push comes to shove it's usually easy to find some weapons lying around.

First if you're in a 1v1. I find it helps me focus on their movements and feints.
Third if you're in 1vX because it helps you keep aware of the enemies around you and any team mates so you don't smack em.

Tried the recurve bow for the first time today. Made me wonder why the longbow is in the game. Recurve bow is much better. Way more ammo. Nearly half the draw time. Does a little less damage but still 1 shots archers with the perk. And you hit way more often since you can shoot faster.

How do you get a hood over helmets?

You boys are going to want to go with a poleaxe. The axe side has long reach, fast slashes and overheads. The hammerside absolutely obliterates armor, heads, and especially heads inside of armor, plus the stab is faster. The best part? The Alt switching animation is so fast that you can just keep twirling your poleaxe so your enemy doesn't know what side you're suing. You can even switch modes in between swings in a fight.

For some level 3 helmets (mainly the great helms, not the visored helms with the visor down) if you go to the "neck" equipment after you put on your great helm/templar helm they'll be an option for a hood.

Thrust and go right into overhead swing, people fall for it constantly.

Honestly rapier isn't that good. It's just the best weapon for new players since they don't have to worry about attack directions.

The pole axe isn't that good. The weird hitboxes means you'll often be hitting for less than you should and because of how slow the weapon is, you're generally at a disadvantage due to it requiring two, possibly even three hits even with headshots.

Once enemies close the distance which is easy as fuck in this game, you're in for a world of hurt. You can't do shit against someone with a faster weapon like a dagger or a small axe.

I have something similar but with crossbow, bastard sword and med kit, the idea is for assaults that I can do everything.

You guys are retarded and literally don't understand how attacks in the game work. If you are spamming thrust, once your first stab gets chambered your second comes out counting as a combo since you haven't been flinched or parried. Combo proration on timing is extreme and on rapier thrust is around 700ms just for your second thrust to startup. The average dueling weapon like LS, messer, GS etc has a swing startup of around 500-600ms so will easily hit with an accel. If you are hitting people doing chamber-morphs by spamming stab then they are accidentally dragging or swinging far out of screen position and don't understand acceling.

for me it runs better than Chivalry honestly and that game is 7 years old now altough it probably has more to do with Unreal engine 4 having proper multithreading compared to unreal engine 4. Runs capped 150 fps with lows (64 players) to 120 fps with 1080 gtx on 1440p with settings on high but ambient occlusion off.

I think they just need to buff kicks. In order to kick a shield fucker who's walking backwards, you have to be pressing your body up against him before starting up the kick. The short range and not being able to move while kicking makes them too hard to land.

I've been seeing a little bit about this game and it's very much intriguing me.

Yeah it's pretty ass. whenever you start facehugging a shield user they know a kick is coming and just counter you before hand but it's the only way to get a hit with it. In teamfights it's especially worthless because it leaves you open to everything from everyone as the animation takes forever and leaves you stationary

I dont think I have ever seen blue win on taiga, you could be racking up the kills but the composition of the map is just shite, they also have no ammo boxes on their side of the map for some reason.

No shield nerf, fix how kicking works, have it have some forward movement so shield users dont need to just walk backwards to avoid their only real counter, also tighten the hitbox of the shield and make it so the player has to actually aim where they block and the shield being used matters.

Get objective lead, go 3 firebombs, block the most active chokepoints, which taiga is the worst for. Combine with an engineer and it's unbeatable. I'm not very skilled but I begin to dig the 240 control scheme. I didn't really liked it at first, especially against multiple opponents, but with practice it's becoming rather intuitive.
There needs to be an option for a more visible indicator, it's too small and barely visible in the heat of the battle.

Are you using all 3 level armor and a longsword? How, do you just not have any perks?
I've got a full level 3 armor character, with dodge, but I could only get a short sword and shield with it. So I justgot a short sword and use it untill I can scavange better gear of people, I ignored shields and just got like friendly just in case and tenacity for fast out of combat heal. Felt like the shield was more of a crutch after using it for like 2 games and felt like dodge was too much of a game changer not to mention the surprise element, since people don't normally expect level 3 armor bros to dodge, especially if I scavanged some 7 point weapon off some guy.

Not all maps have lance spawns man. Like the one where Blue starts at the castle (Taiga?). Its great when enemy also has a lance and you just start jousting. First time I use a horse it was in the snow map and I fell from the cliff to an enemy horse and both our horses died

Pretty much, I do something similar, I just use dodge instead of bloodlust along with tenacity and friendly. All I have is a short sword, which I us as a temporary placeholder untill I beat a guy with a better weapon, or just find one on the ground, since it's not rare to find weapons lying around. Might consider swapping friendly for scavanger, not sure.

Positioning is pretty important to avoiding that, look for your team, if you can't see them, yea, you'll probably get ganged on since you're alone, and bottle necks are pretty limited from what I've seen, there's always side paths you can climb, the castle has a cliff side hidden in the back that let's you climb up to the walls and sneak in through there, snow map has one too. They actually seem quite well designed as long as you look around for side paths, instead of just espect them to be given to you on a silver platter with no map knowledge.

I just have a bow in my loadout and grab whatever weapons I found on the ground. It's works pretty well until you get bumrushed and the only melee weapon you have is a carving knife or some shit.

Chamber stab then morph it into a kick, you have time to get an extra stab in. Most will lose their shit when they face someone actually skilled enough to hurt them and panic. If not just play on the defensive and stall until your teammates join the gank

There is nothing in the game which will kill it. Rapiers, spears and shields are annoying but people are not overusing them as much as the shitposting suggests otherwise. In fact I would say the weapon balance in a match is pretty good from short to medium to long stuff.

It doesn't have any mechanical issues like ballerinas in Chiv, so really nothing but a lack of future content will kill this or just genre fatigue which kills these niche games eventually either way.

I would wager that most of the people complaining about shields are just mad there's a soft counter to their beat stick. They can do as many morphs as they want but if a guy has a shield it won't matter.

Meanwhile the shielders are annoyed that their one handers can never kill anything because they do too little damage. By the time they get near killing someone the guy runs away and someone else aggros you while he heals.

I use a bastard sword, which is not even as long as proper two handers, and everytime I hear a horsenigger coming I just two hand and time a swing at their legs. Usually hits hard enough to fuck up the horse or kill them if they neglected lower body armor

Longsword. If you time into correctly, you can accelerate the hits to instantaneous. I do this all the time in duels, set my mouse sensitivity high as fuck and right when they swing I cut them down instantly if I get their neck. Only weapon I can pull it off with, think it’s a jank hitbox

these type of games are only good for the first month or so, at max. Then there are only try hards substituting parts of their life with the game

When you're losing, you really fucking feel it.
One important trick is not to give a single shit about the objective once it becomes obvious you're losing.

It's swings are fast and have good range; they do low damage but they're good interupts. It DOES have mordhau as an option, which is important. It's great on horseback because it couches so quick. Its stab range is still good, and it's fast overall. It's a fairly good middleground in terms of stabbing weapons.

Join any duel server and enjoy an extremely fast two hander that can hit 40s on heavy armor and one shot in mordhau grip

It's not bad enough to be a real problem, but I always find myself wondering how the fuck I got stabbed so fast, when in reality I had just missed the windup because I assumed they were still in the parry animation.

I honestly just can't see the Estoc being a fucking 2 handed weapon. It looks too thin for that, it's like a prick needle, i'd sooner see it being a rapier than a 2h sword. Compare the way that the long sword looks with the Estoc, the entire idea of it just seems bizarre to me; sure you could make it work but it's still weird but that's probably because when i think of a 2 handed sword I think of slashing and parrying/blocking attack, not designated thrusting and stabbing, that's more suitable for spears or spear-like weapons.

The reason is that he's wrong. Alpha duelers and devs don't consider Estoc highest tier.
