What makes this worse than steam? Can someone give me an actual valid reason why half the internet is having a piss storm about this?
What makes this worse than steam...
It pretty much is just a worse extremely barebones version of steam. Hell, its worse than uplay and origin.
Less features than steam and it's annoying to use something other than steam and bnet
Besides this being a dead thread and you being a colossal faggot
There is nothing that enabled a better experience for a consumer experience with that launcher. Epic is actively fucking over consumers by taking away compatibility with Linux and making users use another featureless storefront and launcher
Sage this shit fuck these copy paste threads
Eat my ass OP (you)
gamers like to complain for the littlest shit. It doesn't matter though, it's been proven people don't really give a shit about steam
>No games
>No basic store features like a shopping cart
>Transaction fees apply
>Games cost a ton more if you aren't in America
>Terrible account security
Epic is worse than Steam because it doesn't have the functionality that allows you to share your save files with the community. This is the biggest difference between the two; Epic comes with a massive amount of social features but the PC version does not support those features (you can't create a community or join multiple players on your server). If you want a huge, dedicated, community-run MMO with social features you will have to try Epic. It costs $30. It would be really nice if Epic started shipping its paid subscription as an add-on.
Pros: Epic is not only very good for those who enjoy MMOs, it's perfect for those who aren't as into fantasy. Epic is full of content, it's open world, it's easy to join, and it's cheap on your PC. Epic is full of content, including content for two distinct MMO genres – MMO and MMORPG.
Going out of way to create monopolies preventing games from also being buyable from other distributors steam and gog
Bad standards for the future.
how much is epic paying you? genuine question.
It literally has less games
Is this the new shill tactic to start off with a negative question? I've seen far too many threads following this trend recently.
thay are a chink puppet, that makes it automatically worse than steam
Over steam, epic is not that bad. It's inconvenient for consumers to install/use more than one launcher for games.
For a launcher, it doesn't need to have outstanding social features.
The concerns for privacy is ridiculous; considering everyone is running windows 10 anyways.
>No community profiles
>No user discussions or forums
>No structure for basic navigation between library and store
>No incentive to spend money on it like Steam with profile levels and badges
>why dont amelican piggu rike our anti-consumer company and instarr our ploglam?
they're anti-consumer
Aside from the lack of consumer-friendly features and including additional fees, Tim's brute-force practices over simply making a superior launcher just set a bad precedent. Also too many launchers is annoying.
Just fucking kys shill
>chinese spyware
>bad account security
>less features than pretty much any competitor
>buying up IPs so you HAVE to use their store if you want to play those games
The last one is the major one. I wouldn't care if they weren't doing that. I could still buy it on gog/steam and the retard fortnite kids could buy it on Epic.
You sleepwalking or somethign? No one is this stupid.
wtf I love Epic Games now.
Harvest Steam data.
Shit prices.
Cockblock releases.
Doesn't has features.
Shitty security.
>less features, many of which I actually find useful, regardless of what people call bloated. Steam streaming doesn't work very well right now, but it's extremely convenient when it does, for instance.
>supported linux when they didn't have to, compare to tim sweeney who compared using linux as "moving to canada"
>the indie game shovelware bloat was always a double edged sword- they could do more to crack down on utterly worthless bloatware or at least funnel it out of view, but on the other hand, it means even a poor-ass developer like you could potentially get your game out to a wide audience. Try getting your unproven indie game even sold on epic, see how that works out for you.
>the practice of buying out all of the software by throwing all of the money from your unsustainable fortnite success at publishers and execs sets the precedent that anyone could prop up their shit-ass client if they have the money. Facebook games store, anyone? What about the google store? They could steal that foothold if they really wanted. No thanks.
I'd be the first to tear valve down when people praised TF2's garbage-ass microtransactions and they definitely have it in them to be shady, but epic is somehow even shadier. Tell the customer you don't know what you want and then force them to come to your store, I'm never going to be okay with it.
>Epic fucks linux users
lmao serves them right, fuck linux and everyone who uses it
>Games exclusivity for Stores
>Look at Netflix and co.
>See Piracy rise alot
>Inconvience doesnt split markets it destroy's markets.
>Pray to god Microsoft doesnt see their opportunity...
Chinese
Bland
Bad support
No STEAM Workshop
Slow
Pretty sure its stealing data for real, not even blaming actual security breaches
is there a worse argument for not having features than "lmao nobody uses those features anyway"
I use those features, and even when I don't, it's nice to know that I could make use of the future.
Fuck, the big argument people ave against them is thst they make the client run poorly, but last i checked the egs somehow runs worse than steam.
>The concerns for privacy is ridiculous; considering everyone is running windows 10 anyways.
Reminder that it was only in the past couple months that active Windows 10 installs finally surpassed active Windows 7 installs.
So you should probably reconsider that statement.
