Why? Dude’s ugly and there’s nothing special about him.
Not him, but he's pretty neat. Kind of hoping they cover the whole Kriken Empire at some point.
I can't wait to see Metroid 5 finally at E3 this year.
wow what a fag
Trace is cool looks cool has a cool weapon cool subform and comes from a cool empire.
Why can't Metroid crawl?????
delayed till the end of the switch life cycle lmao
I enjoyed other M
He just looks kinda boring to me and the only thing I remember about him is the cutscene where he climbs up a bunch of others of his kind to stand on top of the pile.

What’s your favorite Ridley fight? It’s hard for me to decide between Super Metroid and the first Prime 3 encounter where he chases you through the base until you fight him while falling.

Prime 2 was prime ludo. It had the cool light/dark mechanic that made getting around and remembering details about the world more important, the enemies were creative and difficult, DARK SAMUS, cool suits, great music, and a cool rock/paper/scissors beam system.

Metroid Dread? Sure!
So, since the pick ups actually exist in the metroidverse. How does Samus get them? Does her suit process whats left of whatever she killed turning it into energy and ammo?
Going by prime standards, "missiles" are just spendable energy. Power bombs are concentrated spendable energy. Normal health is your standard shield sci-fi lingo.

Nah it's more like he was kicked out and sent to go find something of use to the hive as a rite of passage.

As a young[1] Kriken, Trace is currently taking his rite of passage and has become a Bounty Hunter to travel around the galaxy in search of planets. Trace sees the so-called "Ultimate Power" as his chance; if he succeeds in getting it, then he will be considered a hero among his people.

She's a silent protag like Link, a vehicle to get the player immersed in the world, not the character.
>Ridley keeps coming back because of autistic rage against Samus
A lot of the fun of Metroid is the fact that so much is left up to the fandom. Nintendo learned REALLY QUICK why they shouldnt mess with what people THINK Samus, is like.

Prime 2 is my favorite 3D; favorite 2D is either Super or Samus Returns, although I love them all
I never played the original Metroid 2, though. It's the only one in the series I've never beaten - is it worth playing, even after Samus Returns?
No, she is not, Samus is a character, this is shown in Metroid II, Super, Fusion, Zero Mission, Samus Returns, and the Prime series, get over it. It's clear that none of you faggots played any of the games except Other M and just came in here to shitpost. Only Metroid NES is when Samus didn't have much of a character even though she does wave at the player at the end of the game.
Reminder that Metroid is a guy
Bitch, I have played and beaten every metroid game besides zero mission, pinball, hunters, fed force, metroid 1 and 2. I tried REALLY hard to beat 1 but man, I cant mental map when it comes to that game. Samus does have some character, being kind, courageous and strong. Willing to tackle whatever dumb motherfucker decides to get in her way. But dont think for a minute that she has a huge and detailed list of what she is when not on mission.
>I have played and beaten every metroid game besides half the series
Am I supposed to be impressed or something?
Silly user, Metroid is a robot
Is that a fucking Chozo Statue?
What the fuck is this?
more like he played every game that matters except for Zero M

>I've beaten every game but I didn't beat every game
So which is it?
>But dont think for a minute that she has a huge and detailed list of what she is when not on mission
I never said that.

I get into your thread late, dude. I didn't saw the 2 posts 1 poster thing. There were like 30 posts 15 users maybe when I came here. I'll catch you, dude. You will pay for lying and for not being clear.
I dunno, man. Aside from a guy being in it, they got Samus' armor down pretty accurately. And despite not having a beak, that monster is a perfect fit for Chozo statues.
But considering that Castlevania image, I guess it was hit-or-miss.
In that way, she's just as much of a character as link. Link has plenty of stuff going on in each game but nothing much outside of the hinted at relationships with the characters in the starting village like in skyward sword. Hero of time, courage, ect.
Samus has short monologues about the Adam Ai, is brave, sympathetic towards animals, and is a bit of a loner.
Theres pretty much no way to make an anatomically correct power suit look cool is there
They should've stuck with this design. Actually looks the part of a bounty hunter. Muscles, a severed arm replaced with a robotic one.
It oozes character.

>>Fusion
>Now they're revealed to have a love interest. They're dead, which I guess contributes to their already pretty dark backstory. Yeah, I can see your argument. Definitely a consistent character throughout the series. Not sure what those guys were complaining about.
"i've done everything except -insert things here-" is a common phrase you idiot. Its not meant to be literal. And while you never did say it, you act like Samus has some detailed personality that is at the forefront of every game. She isnt a mindless shell of a person. Her character gives wiggle room for some headcanon. And to imply otherwise is lunacy. When they tried to give Samus more character then what was accepted by the fanbase and what previous games gave us glaces of. It backfired so bad that they fucked up again with fedforce. Evan Sakamoto backed off of his "version" of Samus because 99% of the fanbase hated it. Metroid doesnt have a large fanbase, nothing like Mario or Zelda. So keeping the fans happy means not really delving into Samus's character too much.
They pulled it off with the MJOLNIR they can do it here.
I’m still partial to the look she had in Prime 1, mainly because she looks like I would expect an alien exterminator to look like. With modern graphics, she’d look cute without leaning too hard on the animu sex doll look.

Exactly, this has so much personally. If only this was in Smash. Her arm could slug you for an fsmash.
>Modern designers for Prime 4 will probably Iron Man or Overwatch the shit outta her design.
EXPLAIN.
Do we really need more robot arms these days? Venom Snake, Nero, Sekiro, and who knows how many others are already beating the trope to death
done today with realistic HD graphics she would just look like a generic naughty dog character
Is there a MEGA link to the ISO for MP Trilogy?
Personally I like a more stylized look. As long as it doesn't lean too hard into anime waifu territory. Hunters did it perfectly.
As she is now, she looks like a generic anime girl. With the Prime 1 look, at least she’d look like someone who’d be spending her time fighting.

Real talk: how would you all feel about Brie Larson playing Samus in a Metroid movie? I'm completely opposed to a live-action Metroid, since there's so little dialogue in Metroid games, anyway, but I could almost see her in the role. She's very deadpan and kinda blank, but I think that fits Samus.
This is a thread with actual fans and little-to-no shitposters, so I wanna know what you all think.
I'd hate a Metroid movie to be made, but if one WAS made, I think she'd be alright for the role.
Hmm. Well, maybe. Honestly, a lot of it comes down to screenplay and director knowing what Metroid is about, as well as who Samus is based on her actions, not words. They'd have to play all the games pretty much to really see that subtext to her character, like in Prime 2 when she closes the dead fed trooper's eye after watching how they got brutally ravaged by the Ing.
Nope. I feel she completely fails at acting convincingly stoic, and comes across more as bitchy if anything
Though really I wouldn't want any big name actress to get the role. Cast an unknown
Best boss in the 2D games.
I somewhat agree. I never saw Captain Marvel, but she did have a kinda bitchy so-far-up-her-own-ass attitude in Endgame. I dunno.
Yeah, I really don't like Larson either. She's way too sexist, and a pretty literal no-name in my book (never heard of her before MCU).
Whoever they get, gotta be a fan or know the games inside and out.
Nightmare wasn't half that bad of a fight in Other M either.
Except for the awful decision to have it cry out baby noises.
Autistic Samus a cute!
Brie Larson could work, but I see no need for a Metroid movie. They would have hard time replicating the solitary feeling of the games, and they would have to deal with the fact that there would be an alternate game every time we went back for more. (Well, at least the Metroid games, that is.)
As mentioned above, the story and characters in Metroid are good and even good enough. However, the story and characters are not strong enough to make the film's action and narrative feel good while still remaining consistent enough with all the other recent films that make some claim to the same thing.
Brie can't do anything but smug. She'd be awful.
>completely opposed to a live action Metroid
What about an animated series a la Samurai Jack?
in that case they could literally just get Jennifer Hale

Not only that, but when you consider Metroid's inspirations, we've got Alien already. It's not the same, but hey, there's the bonus of a cat!
As long as DIC isn't let anywhere near it.
God I hope Prime 4 takes after the Halo series more, I'd love a more story and action focused Metroid Prime with more cool setpieces and a multiplayer focus.
Samus Returns was essentially a 2D Prime.
I'm surprised no one has edited this to have a can of monster yet
If you cast a known actor, they're gonna demand their face is shown for most of the movie, which would mean helmetless Samus for the majority of the film.
You#d have to cast a lesser known actor. Someone willing to never have their face shown outside the end of the film.
Gwendoline Christie could pull it off.
For Metroid 5? Would it be for Switch or 3DS? Cause the latter's officially dead now, right?
Switch, 3DS is dead and Nintendo already confirmed no more first party games for it.
It's got some issues, but it's already a better return to form after the shitshow we've had to endure.
>best friends and possibly more than just friends
This
X-Fusion fucking WHEN?
That's a huge misnomer considering it's not very good in large aspects of its core.
Unlocking all the concept art galleries in the Prime series was an absolute joy, it always amazed my the amount of detail and creativity that went into every single element of the game.
What's wrong with Samus Returns? I thought it was perfectly satisfactory.
I've seen people criticize it for playing it safe, but do you really want to take a risk on your first game in a decade? First 2D game in almost twice that long.
Just because it re-uses a bunch of Prime's audio doesn't mean it's a 2D Prime
Samus Returns is fantastic
Shoehorning of the Gsuit, shoehroning of Ridley, Aeion radar highlighting the fact that 2D Metroid has never been good about the conveyance of hidden items and areas.
Kickass! I think considering Prime 4 is going to be so long out now, they're definitely gonna have to do something for the series in the meantime.
I'd like to see Mercury Steam have another go at it. Especially since it wouldn't be a remake. And Sakamoto's on a tight leash.
Christie could do it. She'd be a little older than I'd imagine Samus, but she could pull it off.
We already know Mercury Steam and Sakamoto have been making Metroid 5 since December 2017.
I don't see what was shoehorned about the Gravity Suit. I don't even see how shoehorning Ridley is considered a flaw - it's like a tradition at this point. He's been reduced to literal atoms and returned in future games.
Aeion radar isn't that big of a deal. You can still see the breakable blocks - it's just there if you're really stuck.
Dark beam and missile = not a thread
How do we know that? Source? I wanna be hype
>I don't see what was shoehorned about the Gravity Suit.
Because it wasn't in Metroid II and was only here because
>Samus has returned! Look, we've got the Gsuit!
>I don't even see how shoehorning Ridley is considered a flaw - it's like a tradition at this point.
Did you not play Metroid II?
>You can still see the breakable blocks
Aeion radar itself is fine. The fact that it highlights an issue people have willingly ignored since Metroid 1 is the problem.
Oh by all means I'm fine with it being safe. If anything, i like the risks it did take.
There's just some tonal aspects I think the devs missed, particularly the ending and how unnecessary Ridley was needed. Combat's a bit stale after awhile, but overall, I can't complain.
Really, the only major downside is that it came out after AM2R, so comparing the two is inevitable. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, but I'd go with AM2R any day.
>Sakamoto's on a tight leash
Technically no, he's just got promoted so much that he's only in the Producer role now. There will probably be someone else Directing it, maybe even writing it too even tough his Fusion script wasn't that bad, I wouldn't be surprised if he came up with the rogue Chozo. Anyway, Sakamoto wanted to work with MercurySteam again so chances are they're already working on Metroid 5 for the Switch.
If current cinema is anything to go by; they can just CGI her face to be younger.
I've actually played and beaten every Metroid ever EXCEPT for the original Metroid 2.
Zero Mission added stuff that wasn't in the original Metroid, too.
>Flamethrower thing in prime

>Good lord you really want me to choose between Rundas and Meta Ridley
>For me, it's honestly Samus Returns unless the fan made remake counts, the whole setup of Metroid 2 involve Samus assigned to wipe out a species? I'll take it.
Ridley wasn't in 2 for starters, and throwing him in at the end causes a bit of a rift with the timeline again.
I always assumed the time between 2's ending and Super's beginning was fairly short; like, as soon as she got off the planet, she was making her way to Ceres.
Plus, it ruins the surprise that Ridley came back after being absent for a game. In this changed canon, now she knows he's back and it shouldn't be a mystery as to who attacked the Ceres station.
>EXCEPT for the original Metroid 2.
>I don't see what was shoehorned about the Gravity Suit.
:|
>Zero Mission
We're not talking about ZM.
For my own I wasn't considering canon at all. Metroid II's ending is fucking incredible. Just quiet, optimistic reflection into a new dawn.
Stop posting that ugly photoshopped piece of shit
-2D/10 is a clear sign that they are working on a follow up
-Sakamoto said he cannot talk about the next Metroid game in an interview last Summer
-The Spanish guy who claimed Nintendo were working on a RoS remake for months before its announcement said in December 2017 that they had started pre-development of a new 2D Metroid
>If you cast a known actor, they're gonna demand their face is shown for most of the movie,
this
get an unknown, get a director who is both a fan AND a competent director
use a 50/50 blend of practical effects and cgi
I'm just saying that the Gravity Suit is a fun power-up to find. I don't see why anyone would be upset by it coming back - it's just another thing to pick up to progress through the world, like any power-up. I don't need to play the original to have that opinion.
But why have this opinion on stuff in Samus Returns, but not Zero Mission?
Fusion wasn't bad, but the man cannot keep his lore straight for some stupid reason. Not sure who is responsible for the Ridley appearance in Returns, but it would not surprise me if Sakamoto had something to do with it.
Yes, but Ridley not being there on SR388 was a fairly important detail. I would imagine the Gameboy's limitations were why he was never there in the first place, along with the mission not about him but eradicating just Metroids. no Space Pirates or anything.
Same here. The quiet ending just feels so magical and relaxing. AM2R got that part right. God that remix is so beautiful.

desu the "evil GF" has been done too many times now. it seems they are taking it in a very interesting and new direction with 2D/10
I know this is probably bait, but I wouldn't mind a little more on that end. I'm trying to remember any cinematics in Prime 3, and all I can remember is the the set piece for when Ridley falls down the shaft. Aside from that, it's a few 5 second clips here and there. Most of the cutscenes come from when you're on a tram of some sort.
I wouldn't mind a little more cutscene in my games. I don't even need (or even want talking), completely silent cutscenes are fine.
Because despite some additional stuff in ZM, the main plot was left intact. Or story beats, rather. Your main objective is to get rid of Ridley and Kraid in order to face Mother Brain. There's no Phantoon thrown in there for nostalgia or a Super reference despite taking place on the same planet. It's a faithful remake that fixes the issues of the original, adds in some extra mini-bosses to freshen up the world, and the bonus stuff at the end was fun and unexpected.
And it was nice to see the Chozo backstory in there, depending on how much you want to take the manga for canon (some aspects I like of it, some I don't but it's been ages since I've read that).
>I don't see why anyone would be upset by it coming back
Because I don't need to be pandered to.
>But why have this opinion on stuff in Samus Returns, but not Zero Mission?
I don't truly care for the original Metroid like I do II. I've played it five times that was enough for me. It's absolutely an experience worth undertaking if one is an enthusiast about video games. Case in point:
youtube.com
youtube.com
It's got an ineffable atmosphere.
Metroid II really nails isolation. I will never go as far as to say
>Oh man Metroid II is DARK and HORRIFIC
which I have actually seen (though the lab is fucking brilliant in atmosphere) But among Metroid it is so unique in what it sets out to do. No fluff, you are there to kill all metroids. You get to see, in the nest, what a planet looks like when it gets overrun with metroids - there's no life. You HAVE to kill them. But after all of it, the hatchling imprints itself on you and helps you escape the bowels of the planet. The player and Samus have committed genocide, and now you are forced to reflect on everything. To ponder on future possibilities with this new life that is seemingly innocuous.
You know what that experience really needed? The gravity suit. Ridley showing up to ruin the peaceful music. A miner drone that hounds you. 10/10.
>Haloid.
That was dope when it came out so fucking long ago.
>2D/10
What's that mean?
Also, I always figured a post-Fusion Metroid would have something more to do with the X. I know, theoretically, all of them are wiped out, but I'd love to see them again.
Ugh, ackshully, only the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption ship has an exit from the bottom. The classic "samus ship" as seen in the image has her exit from the top.
To go further about Metroid 1 and ZM, that I don't care for Metroid 1 so much and that it got remade and expanded in the way that it did, that's delightful. It added to the experience instead of subtracting. Except for Mecha Ridley. That shit was stupid.
Where do we go from Fusion though? Samus on the lam? Metroids are completely and utterly gone now, except in Samus' DNA. SR388 is blown up, and no more X parasite.
Like I said, I never played the original so I can't comment on that, but I like the Gravity Suit and Diggernaut, so it's whatever. Different strokes for different folks. I probably won't ever play Metroid 2, either, since I really wasn't all that hot on Metroid 1.
>What's that mean?
Anything we can take away from the 2D/10 image, that being that there are a group of evil Chozo leaders in the galaxy somewhere that use Samus' powerups.
Ah right. I just forgot that it was called 2D/10.
It's not bad, but AM2R did it a heck of a lot better.
Because you're not allowed to say you like Metroid Prime 2.
Isn't there one where she's at a bar?
Metroid 2 is rather dated, there's no denying the gameplay aspect. I could probably still manage it after all these years (I never got far back as a kid because the Metroids terrified me to death, and I have to kill 38 of these fuckers? no thanks), but honestly, if you haven't already, try out AM2R. It feels more faithful imo, and has references to all the Metroid games to some extent.
Sorry you have no taste, faggot.
But I said it
Samus would absolutely pwn halo-guy.
Prime 2 gets jacked off all the time.
Prime 3 is the one you can't say you like.
It wouldn't be on a Fusion image collection because it's from Zero Mission.
Hey, chief, we're all Metroid fans here. I've played every single one of them except for the original 2. I wasn't a big fan of Metroid 1, so I probably won't play 2. Nothing against the game, but it's not for me - Metroid is one of my favorite series ever, too.
Not him but I'm not a big fan of 1 but absolutely love 2. Don't be fooled, it may be 8 bit still but it's worlds better.
Hmm. Maybe I'll give it a shot. I only beat the original game on principal and I'll honestly never play it again, but if 2 is actually better, I'll give it a shot - can I play it on my 3DS? My Wii U is in some closet somewhere and I don't think Switch has old games on the e-shop yet.
This is true, almost nobody seems to appreciate Corruption. It wasn't anything too groundbreaking, but the gameplay and even the motion controls were enjoyable. The dread it gave me at times was still as good as ever. The stress-inducing nightmare of trying to get that Elysian bomb ready to drop, when having to suddenly solder some damaged electrical equipment down below, and everything is shaking all around you. God...
Yeah it's on the 3DS VC. Some copies of Samus Returns actually came with a download code for the original, not sure if that was the case in the US.
sauce
I need the pic of Sylux and Dark Samus' retarded adventure featuring Weavel and the retards.
Banter aside, I think you might enjoy Metroid II. It's less Metroid 1, which has you flip flopping from area to area as you gain abilities, and more Metroid Prime 2 where it locks you in a zone so you can clear out the entire area of metroids before moving on. To clarify, there'll never be a moment where
>Aw, fuck. I missed a metroid in the very beginning now I won't get 100%.
Movement feels nicer, jumping, shooting, I really love how that game plays.
Yes, the original should be on the 3DS' E-shop.
There are some wonderful guides out there that did make maps of the game's areas, so you can use those to help you along.
Give it a shot. Then you can say you've truly played them all.
I'm not sure. I pre-ordered the Special Edition but the GameStop I was gonna pick it up at never got the shipment because the game came out, like, two days after Hurricane Irma destroyed the state. So I was forced to buy the standard copy. I might've gotten Metroid 2 with it if I had gotten my Special Edition, but who knows.
I'll definitely check it out. Metroid 2 fans are certainly the most elitist of the Metroid fans, so that has to mean something.
Fair. Metroid Prime 2 is actually my favorite 3D Metroid, so that means something. I like going from area to area clearing them out more than I like running around the whole world back-and-forth, unless it's Super or Prime 1, which I love. I'll give it a shot.
After all this time I still don't understand how Corruption's main menu relates to the game.
I dunno, I've always figured Super's fans were the most elite. 2 just always felt forgotten by Nintendo.
That said, I need to look and see if I still have the old Gameboy cart, cause I can play it on my SP. I need to experience it fully myself, being less of a chickenshit.
So, taking Samus Returns as a base, what production values would you expect/like Metroid 5 to have, with it being on a console?
More cutscenes? Flashier melee attacks? Voice acting?
I'd love to see more dynamic camera positions but keeping it on a 2D plane
It looks like a parasite inside of an organism or something - maybe it represents the Phazon inside Samus
It's cool so I don't care if it makes no sense
?
Blame MercurySteam for that, they wanted Ridley in the game.
Man, I fucking loved Corruption. Elysia Skytown is one of the best worlds I've ever been to in any game. When you step out and see you're floating in the sky with that eerie, yet tranquil, chanting music plays, it's magical. Exploring Elysia was amazing, too.
Super fans never came off as elitist to me, but that might just be because Super is considered by everyone to be one of the best games ever, while Metroid 2 is more of a "black sheep".
I'll give it a shot. After I beat it, I can call myself a true fan.
I need to get bored of the other games I'm playing at the moment, though.
>now she knows he's back and it shouldn't be a mystery as to who attacked the Ceres station.
no? She doesn't know she's tailgated by him after being defeated
Godspeed, user. Hope you like it.
It's a buncha phazon and then we see the rim of Phaaze.
Okay you know how at the end of the game, just before you fight Dark Samus, you have this big organic thing that you have rip a few holes into and then you have to shoot this tiny little bug thing? That's a baby Leviathan.
That's also what you're looking at on the main menu.
I believe it's a Phazon creature. Phazon is stated to be a biological weapon and alive. I believe that organism is "a Phazon" and is what corrupts you. I'm assuming it's extremely microscopic.
tank suit > skinny suit
>Not sure who is responsible for the Ridley appearance in Returns
He had nothing to do with it, Ridley was all MercurySteam's idea, Sakamoto and the team were originally going for the original Metroid II ending but when MS thought Ridley they thought players would enjoy it and gave them to go ahead but it needed to work with Prime since Ridley still had cybernetics in Prime 3.
What's a "skinny" Metroid suit aside from Fusion and Other M's?
I don't think it really needed to be groundbreaking. I understand a lot of people look for that in vidya, but I was thoroughly satisfied with how it finished the phazon story. If I could be greedy, I'd've made Dark Samus the final fight instead of the Aurora Unit. But the fact that Samus gives that thumb's up, like this is all just another day for her, man that's perfect.
At last, I truly see.
Pretty creeped out, it gave me the same vibes that the Halo CEA 10th Terminal gave me.
Kinda looks like a Leviathan Infant
Voice-acting only so long as Samus keeps her mouth zipped shut. And don't let Sakamoto direct VAs either. Get whoever directed Corruption's VAs to come back and do the job, that was acceptable work.
Honestly, not too much canon they can fuck up with a new storyline (I'm a stickler for lore consistency after Other M's fuckup). I want to see more of the relation between Samus and the Chozo. They've been so neglected for years, so anything that sheds light on her past with them helping and raising her, and what impact this rogue Chozo would do to her.
I like Corruption, but my main issue with it is the story and dialogue. If you made it so it opened with a crawl saying that you were going around purging Phazon viruses, like how there was a text crawl for Prime 1 and 2, and the game just starts on Bryyo, that'd be much better. And I don't like how the Unit talks to you throughout the game. Maybe some dialogue at each of the AU's you meet would be alright. Also, the Hunters were cool, but I just don't want that much dialogue in Metroids.
If you cut out all the story and dialogue from Prime 3, and the forced flying load screens, it'd probably be the best of the Primes. I still enjoy it, but it's more tedious to replay.

What are your hopes for Metroid Prime 4?
>Tallon IV-like planet with unique environments
>an actual fun desert and water region that doesn't frustrate the fuck out of me
>new weapons on top of improved classical Metroid weapons and armor
>the return of the Chozo
>Phaaze's origins as a parasitic life sucking planet
I'm ecstatic to see how retro is gonna shove him into prime 4 because they absolutely can
Hi ACFag
meta ridley is the one thing he didn't do, though that doesn't break the lore or anything. Sakamoto still states that super takes a year after 2 though which makes no sense
>ACFag
That's not me, I can assure you. I'm the same guy who has been talking about playing Metroid 2 and defending the Gravity Suit.
Tons of weather and environmental details. Shit that really engrosses you into the planet
>green and rainy area like tallon overworld and torvus bog
>great music like prime 1 and prime 2
>ability to switch between beams like in both primes 1 and 2
>original beam weapons (no plasma again for fucks sake)
>one big planet
>sylux
that's just off the top of my head
Aye....can only hope they got some amount of backlash on that decision.
Same, Elysia was so relaxing and yet it could be so terrifying at times (fuck that lab with the Metroids phasing through the walls, I couldn't pick up the game for a few days after that nightmare).
Also, the Valhalla. God Retro knew/know how to capture that feeling of fear and dread.
Well, thankfully Other M and FedForce have kindly taken that black sheep status from 2. Growing up, yeah, 2 had always been the original black sheep for some reason. Strange, considering it brought so many staples to the series.
>Samus on the lam?
Nah. By this point in the story, the federation knows Samus is not to be trifled with. They should not feature the federation at all and have an isolated story involving just Samus and whatever new intelligent life she happens to find. But blahblah Sylux and metroids of course will happen.
I hope Ridley doesn't show up in Metroid 5, save him for Metroid 6. Bring back Kraid instead.
Can someone fill me in on this?
Both the: "Glitched onto your 3ds screen" and the actual Lore of this image?
I have heard that this creature is some Chozo traitor, but how do we know that? Is there any actual lore surrounding it?
in bed
Samus no longer has Metroid DNA, what's next for Samus is dealing with the original Chozo Warriors.
She didn't fucking kill him, and would definitely have it fresh on her mind when getting the emergency call from Ceres, if we are to assume Super begins immediately after 2.
Only way this canon inconsistency can be explained away is if it took a really fucking long ass time to reach Ceres from SR388.
Why haven't you played Samus Returns?
>leave the lab
>turn around and look back at it from a distance
>there are thousands of metroids pouring out of the building now that you've shut off the containment fields
I don't know how to explain this properly, but you know how Prime 3's music is more orchestral? Lots of strings and choir - stuff like that. And Prime 2's was more ambient and spooky, like a Resident Evil at times.
I really want the music to be like Prime 1's. That's my main wish and desire. For the music to be more upbeat and rhythmic like Prime 1. I'm not a music expert, so I might not be using the right words, but let Chozo Ruins speak for me.
youtube.com
It has a "beat" to it. It's almost catchy - especially at 2:16.
The other games have good music, but Prime 1's is the most comfy and adventure-inducing for me, and I really want that style to return. I can almost dance to some of the Prime 1 music.
Just for the Sylux cliffhanger to be something important.
I actually do hope they put in a Hunters style multiplayer mode.
Why wouldn't she have the DNA? It's the only thing that allows her to absorb the X.
Oh damn, the Valhalla, I forgot about that. East Skytown was dope, too. Just stumbling upon that on your own was amazing. You can get there earlier in the game, but you're blocked when you see this green wall and you're unsure how to get up it. Only after you transport to Bryo Ice and get the screw attack do you realize that now you can continue throughout the rest of the optional area.
Also, screw attacking from flying station to flying station instead of using the canons/grapple beam on Elysia was fun.
Anyone have that gif of old Samus art where her hands are pumped in the sky and it's shaking? It's yellow. I know someone here has to have it / know what I'm talking about.
My hard drive died recently and I lost all my reaction gifs and such.
I think they could have addressed Ridley's return from cybernetic to organic in some other way or in a different game. Or simply not at all and let it be unanswered.
They did it a long time ago! and it was once!
That's not ACfag, and it's undeniable that MP3 is severely hampered by the long intro and my least favorite part in every metroid game to date is escorting the bomb squad feds on the higher difficulties of MP3. Jesus Christ they're made of tissue paper and the space pirates take so much time to kill.
this thing was so fucking hard, took me a million tries to beat
I never got a 3ds. I was out of gaming for 7-8 years or so after my 360 got stolen. Just recently have I gotten back to gaming.
They'll pwn each other in the shower, tub, bed, and spaceship.
What do you mean?
>the actual Lore of this image
There was some extra world-building materials introduced with Zero Mission (but not in the game itself) that revealed that the Chozo were once a warrior race of conquerors, but eventually became peaceful.
The lore of that image shows that perhaps not all of the Chozo became peaceful, and that there is in fact a faction of Chozo that are still conquerors, and that they may show up in a future game.
>Glitched onto your 3ds screen
There's an art gallery called Chozo Memories in Samus Returns. More images are added as your item completion percentage increases. The images detail the life of the Chozo that settled on SR388, why they created the Metroids, and why they abandoned the planet. The final image shows the last remaining Chozo reaching the surface only to be met with another Chozo. The screen then begins to glitch out and turn red as this image fades into view, showing the new Chozo shot the remaining Chozo and now addresses an army of others.
On the bottom screen, the display counter turns from 10/10 to 2d/10, with "2d" in red. The significance of that is unknown, but it helps complete the feeling of glitchyness.
Is that true? I never noticed all the metroids pouring out of the building.
Man, and even though you 100% knew you were going to have to fight those fucking Metroids when you pass by them the first time while they're contained, it was still scary as fuck.
Yeah no, i greatly prefer fusion's
There's just something i love about the vibrant clown vomit
From a narrative standpoint, I'm tired of the reoccurring Metroids as a menace. Imo, the series should have never been named Metroid due to the fact that Nintendo had to include them in some form or fashion when they could move on to spookier alien shit. Granted that the Metroids have been portrayed as the ultimate predator and the series tries to keep them fresh through their evolution, it honestly doesn't really make sense - from a lore perspective - to not have made the Metroids more "special". They're an alien species found on some bumfuck planet SR388 and they suck the life out of you and uhhh Space Pirates/Chozo did experiments on them and uhhhhh they uhhh evolve and shit. So what? Wouldn't it have been better to have just copied Halo's Flood and made the Metroids into some unstoppable force of nature that consumes life instead?
That's what the X is
I thought it was weird, desu. I like that the Chozo are dead and gone, but their influence remains throughout the galaxy. I'm not jazzed about some hostile faction that has continued to thrive and will just become generic enemies that go down during gameplay.
And of course some of them fucked off to the Valhalla. OF COURSE.
Yeah, fuck that escort mission. I'm already under enough stress, you want me to babysit these punks? FFFFFFF
I didn't realize until after I pulled out the damn power cell. Was not very genre-savvy back then.
To each his own, then.
Dude, we've got wall-phasing Metroids loose out there. Galaxy is fucking screwed.
Because the X are dead for good, they were made as a scapegoat for the R&D1 team that made Wario Land 4 because they felt Samus look got stale after Super Metroid. Sakamoto wanted Samus to go back to normal in the end so she could go back to her iconic look in future games. This is also why Sakamoto had the team make Zero Mission because he felt they needed to get invested in Metroid's roots so they could understand the series better.
>due to the fact that Nintendo had to include them in some form or fashion
To the point that there's a variation of them in Hunters, created by the Alimbics. It's retarded.
You didn't answer why she wouldn't have metroid DNA anymore.
Prime 3 did leave people confused making it look like Ridley was dead, no offense but I'm glad they finally answered the question.
m8 he blows up in Metroid, Super Metroid, Fusion, but Prime 3 made people confused?
pretty much super metroid is what I consider tank, and anything less than that gets away from the heaviness that I think the should have.
Fusion suit gets a pass tho
Probably died out with the rest of the phazon in the galaxy.
Not him, but that's a word of god thing. There was a Japanese Q&A around when Zero Mission released. One of those questions was about Samus' condition at the end of Fusion, and Sakamoto answered that Samus' genetic condition had been restored to that of prior to being infected by the X, but she couldn't recover her amputated suit. Something along those lines. It's not in-game canon just yet.
Dude's a cockroach, any Metroid fan knows he's gonna come back, no matter how many times he gets his ass blown. I'm just saying it's nice to have a game without him every now and then. Let the cockroach space dragon have some actual time to recover.
You know what I mean.
>Wouldn't it have been better to have just copied Halo's Flood
>Halo
Halo has it's own issues too. The series moved on from the original trilogy and the Halo installations have become irrelevant. I like to think that Metroid as a title is just that: an iconic title and nothing more.
Some people seem to say that 2d/10 is actually a coverup and not a coup or invasion of rogue Chozo. That the killing of those Chozo at the end was to remove any sort of association of the Chozo with the Metroids/X-parasite because of how they can destroy all life. It's potentially a cover up rather than a take over/killing.
-world is varied but also consistent, an in between of prime 1/2
-focus on weather/particle effects for immersion
-almost no story exposition through cutscenes, make them through environment/optional scans
-Hard mode to be challenging at least on the level of prime 2 or the phazon mines section of prime 1
-Sylux is an actual threat gameplay wise instead of the joke battles of dark samus/SA-X
-perfectly fine with chozo/ridley being sidelined, I'll take something new
Finally, the game can't be safe or the prime series (and thus metroid as a whole) will go back into obscurity. Prime 4 will do well, but consecutive games will fall in popularity. It needs to change up and expand on the metroid (prime) formula. I think the easiest jump to make would be no more room based level design separated by doors, although since switch hardware is trash this may compromise the 60fps gameplay the series has held up.
Yeah, and that was a one time enemy for a smaller title.
That's a touch lame. I thought it was rather poignant that she some of the DNA of the last metroid within her.
When she absorbed the SA-X, her perfect genetic condition, she absorbed her original self, her Chozo DNA replaced the strains of Metroid DNA she had in her this is why she can once again use the Ice Beam again. This came directly from Sakamoto.
>-Sylux is an actual threat gameplay wise instead of the joke battles of dark samus/SA-X
SA-X is a thoroughly enjoyable fight because of how aggressive it is. Dark Samus is mediocre in all ways.
Well in Prime 1 it's stated he survived Metroid NES/Zero Mission, he only truly died in Super Metroid, his clone also dies for good in Fusion.
>no more monster girl samus fantasies
Sakamoto is a fucking hack.
I kind of hope they change it from Prime to something else. Prime as a subtitle won't make any sense now that the Phazon story is done. Unless Sylux has some connection to Phazon, like he's the creator of it somehow.
Besides the usual Metroid Prime stuff, I want the gameplay to become much harder. Make Samus weak again - as done in every title tbhonest - and have the environment and enemies be far more punishing. Samus usually feels like an unstoppable tank rolling through everything in the games and I would like it for the series to make her weaker and have her resort to more survival shit like stealthing around.
opposite, you do nothing but unload missiles on a piss easy enemy with SA-X. At least dark samus changes it up with gimmicks and also has the aurora fight
Give him a one game break, please?
>Well in Prime 1 it's stated he survived Metroid NES/Zero Mission
I thought he didn't and the space pirates had to reconstruct him
that's what prime 2 was and he's not in prime 4 unless plans changed
Good, X weren't that great of enemies, they just felt like a one time gimmick.
That's dumb and I wish you hadn't told me that.
>the SA-X, her perfect genetic condition
It's infested with X. It's not her perfect genetic condition.
> her Chozo DNA
Where does it say she has no Chozo DNA within her Fusion incarnation? Where would it go?
> replaced the strains of Metroid DNA she had in her this
Why would it do that? Does Chozo DNA prey on metroid DNA like metroid DNA preys on X? Man you really ruined this by bringing this up. Sakamoto is a fucking idiot.
>I'll get you Kira. L here. I know where you are.
Kek read like an open book
Next Metroid spin-off: Ridley's Spa Day
Prime as a subtitle didn't make sense for Hunters or Federation Force, but it's right there.
Nintendo just sees it as brand recognition. Someone buying "Metroid Prime" will know they're getting a Metroid FPS.
the title prime hardly had to do with phazon
Using missiles on the SA-X is wholly inefficient to defeating her.

Nope, they put him on life support, but what about the 2D games, thanks to SR he's in every 2D game now?
Agreed. Never thought it should have been named Prime 4.
ridley has regenerative abilities, ridley in fusion is a clone made by the GF
>Sakamoto is a fucking idiot.
Understatement of the century.
To me, she still has Metroid DNA somehow. Your right, the SA-X was X that fused with her suit and copied her DNA. So when she consumed it right back at the end, she got back her original suit while the Metroid in her ate any remaining X off of it.
But...yeah, the ice beam functioning again does damper this idea. I mean, the Chozo did create and controlled the Metroids originally. So perhaps the suit has something in it that is designed to control that DNA?
Prime signifies its in first person
Hunters was called prime too
>Game is unique and doesn't try to be a safe Prime 1 remake
>Has a strong central gimmick (e.g. Timeshifting stones)
>Moves away from the Super Metroid/Prime 1 bogstandard upgrades (e.g. Wave/Ice/Plasma Beams) and invents new upgrades to collect. Bonus points if you start off with a lot of the base upgrades (bombs, missiles) as part of your abse moveset.

And we get to experience it all. I love Serris.

It eats and absorbs the invulnerability to ice boom that's it. Nobody would have had a problem with this. Brava Saka.
>Sub-bosses like Prime 2 (exploring the environment and naturally coming across a new mini-boss was one of he best things in Prime 2)
Definitely want this. I'd like less ancillary upgrades and more sidegrades as a reward for exploring. Like being able to equip a shoulder bash versus equipping a quick dodge.
>>Pirate logs fully embrace the memery
Yes. Nothing more entertaining than reading pirate logs and the shenanigans they're up to.
Will they have to be reminded once more to not feed pet treats to the Metroids?
Wouldn't happen to have the logo-less version of this would you?
Thread has inspired me to pick up Samus Returns where I left off on Citra.
>all these people arguing about the SA-X and the ice vulnerability
You know what my head canon is? Samus never had a vulnerability to the ice beam. Once she acquired the varia suit, she was perfectly capable of using the ice beam. But (((they))) didn't want her using it, because it would risk destroying the metroids they were breeding.
I guess that sounds crazy, right? Imagine if they held upgrades from her to keep her from becoming too powerful, like the plasma beam. Haha, that would be silly.
Best version of Ridley's theme is unironically a fan cover. Feels emblematic of both how his boss fights feel and what his relationship with Samus represents, plus it just sounded cool as hell
youtu.be
if prime 4 has another fucking ridley battle i'll flip out i'm tired of that stupid purple bitch. sure i'd have sex with him but i still don't want him in prime 4
i suppose the reason people asked at all was because of games post-Fusion, would Samus be vulnerable to ice attacks still? A fair point to address, I suppose.
I really don't think we're gonna get anything post-Fusion then if even Samus has lost the DNA of the last Metroid. Unless some loose Metroids are still out there. Wouldn't doubt it.
That is what happens though. Once you get the varia, SA-X can no longer freeze you.
Those guys are fucking incredible.

I made 'em, so of course I do.
Do you have the area beneath the metroid lab's background?
But ice still hurts like a bitch even after getting the new Varia suit.
>That is what happens though. Once you get the varia, SA-X can no longer freeze you.
Exactly. She was capable of using the ice beam the moment she got the varia suit.
Here.
Well since you're here, thank you for such beautiful artwork. I wasted time constantly space jumping around to fully look at the backgrounds while also filling in the map.
Does add up. Never thought of that before. Thanks user.
The lake background?
I mean, I have it, but I haven't made a wallpaper of it. It's not that great of an image, honestly. It's decent until you get to the actual lake, then it's just awful.
You're not falling for that user's lies, are you? Samus was totally incapable of using the ice beam. Trust us.
Thoughts on Prime 4 having an electronic-inspired soundtrack?
DMC5 just pulled off an OST with a heavy electronic influence and it worked great. Think it could fit Metroid really well, especially boss fights.

It's quite fun. I've done a couple other games, but that's not for this thread.
Meant to link youtube.com
I just got off DMC5, actually
Cavaliere Angelo's theme is top-tier
>It's infested with X. It's not her perfect genetic condition.
It is, it had her Chozo DNA which is all Samus needed, when she absorbed the SA-X the Metroid DNA killed the X and her Chozo DNA replaced the Metroid DNA along with the Hornoad DNA as well. This is also shown with the suit turning back to its original color. She now just needs to restore the amputated parts and she will be whole again.
>Annihilator Beam
>Light Suit hands down
>Tallon IV
>Dark Samus (both 2 and 3)

I'd like to speak with Admiral Dane please.
>Thoughts on Prime 4 having an electronic-inspired soundtrack?
I'm pretty sure the prime games are already electronic inspired
I dunno, wouldnt it be too energetic for metroid?
She's fighting against living Chozo Warriors next so the potential of new Chozo weapons and abilities in the next game is huge. Metroid 5 could be the first time we get to see fully active Chozo technology in a Metroid game that hasn't been abandoned.
>that DMC3 Cerberus remix right at the start
I know this is a Metroid thread but lord I love DMC5, I just need to get that out there
>tfw late 2020 for Prime 4 news at the earliest
I forgot about the Hornoad DNA. Explains the grotesque thing SA-X evolves into at the very end when you can finally fight it.
Dude, what makes you think the Metroid DNA "replaced" her Chozo DNA in the first place? You're retarded.
But his body was wiped out by the explosion of the station and planet like in Super.
>Where does it say she has no Chozo DNA within her Fusion incarnation? Where would it go?
>Why would [Chozo DNA replace the strains of metroid DNA]? Does Chozo DNA prey on metroid DNA like metroid DNA preys on X?
The truth is that Sakamoto pulled the answer out of his ass.
IIRC they collected Ridley's DNA off samus's suit
Cockroach DNA.
>mfw the upcoming update for AM2R with the SA-X
In Other M they give "her suit a polish", i.e. the Feds rebuilt Ridley from the DNA and atoms that landed on her body
I'm glad she's back to normal, the fuck is with you guys with that stupid ass generic Federation is evil, Samus and Metroid DNA plot. I DO NOT WANT AN OTHER M 2. Leave that shit behind, Sakamoto shouldn't have let the team go so far with that stupid shit in the first place.
>He thinks that update is coming anytime soon
Mid 2020 at the earliest
I dunno how to feel about this Optimus Prime-looking mother fucker here
Dread?
Fear?
Discomfort?
Because it sure as shit makes me feel something
What's going on now? I don't keep up with AM2R news anymore. Last I heard the next major update was going to be a graphical overhaul or something.
Tonight I will remind them
Sakamoto was responsible for Other M. All of it. He started this shit in Fusion technically. We let it slide cause we didn't know how retarded he was back then.
I'd say autistic, but autistics would actually know every intricate canon/lore detail better than this hackjob.
Her DNA was fucked at the beginning of the game, absorbing SA-X fixed her, stay mad that you're never getting your gay ass mutated Samus plot and thank fucking god for that.
Fusion's plot should have never been a thing.
Based Syluxposter
Have you gotten more MSPaint-tier images of Sylux for us, fren?
Didn't Nintendo pull a C&D on AM2R development?
Dammit
>the fuck is with you guys with that stupid ass generic Federation is evil, Samus and Metroid DNA plot. I DO NOT WANT AN OTHER M 2.
I posted this earlier:
>By this point in the story, the federation knows Samus is not to be trifled with. They should not feature the federation at all
Samus having the last metroid's DNA is a nice touch that she'd have within her, at all times, the thing that saved her life twice. Sakamoto's explanation is just half assed and there's nothing wrong with calling attention to that.
Not gonna stop the fans from making patches. The code is out there for anyone to tinker with.
Did he have this shit in mind when he directed Super Metroid?
>Fusion's plot should have never been a thing.
That's a helluvan assertion. Fusion's plot was fun. All about Samus taking back her agency and all that jazz. Was nice.
>stay mad that you're never getting your gay ass mutated Samus plot and thank fucking god for that.
This is the strawman of strawman. They could put this in a textbook.
I was never for a mutated Samus, but you're fucked if you think she somehow "lost" her Chozo DNA just because a vaccine managed to introduce Metroid DNA into her system.
They did. But fans of the game reverse engineered it and continued development, adding extra content both of their own ideas and that were eventually planned to be added by the original author. It's based at r/am2r
that fruity looking dracula is hilarious
Fusion's plot was fine. Other M should never have existed though as it completely undermines Fusion.
Wave beam
Varia suit
Tallon IV
Shegoth
Omega Pirate
I think it's pretty obvious.
How far have fans gotten? I figured after the C&D the project would've been left with just the 1.1 version. Did Doctor M64 ever release the stuff he wanted for it?
That's true, he should have been more upfront and stated that Fusion was made to expand Samus's character and left it at that, he did say that in some interviews but I wish he came up with the Chozo Warriors here instead of later.
I don't know. Hardware limitations kept him at bay. Prime's success probably made him jealous.
>Implying Samus is socially competent enough to go on a date with Chief
>Implying Chief isn't still autistically obsessed over Cortana
200% based
1.4 when I last downloaded. Don't know if the Fusion cliffhanger ending was added since then.
What extra content did they add and what was the original author going to add?
They've added a bunch of cool shit. There's new logs, new enemies, there's a new game + mode (magma is lowered from the beginning so you can tackle the game in whatever order you want), a randomizer mode with various settings, and inspired by Samus Returns there's also a Fusion Mode, except instead of just making the game harder and putting Samus in the Fusion Suit, there are mechanics changes that introduce X parasites to the game. Any organic enemy will become an X parasite instead of dropping pickups, and even organic bosses become Core-X to add an additional phase to the fight.
An user posted a comparison of sprites earlier that show off the Fusion Mode sprites.
I know this is a Metroid thread, but how do you all feel about the other metroidvanias cropping out left and right, like Hollow Knight and Rainworld?
Also Fuck me, where the hell can I get more of this shit right here?
DoctorM was going to add an improved soundtrack, new logs, an extended ending sequence, new game modes, and over time overhaul the game's graphics to eventually remove any and all graphics that were borrowed from official metroid titles. v1.2 was going to overhaul The Golden Temple and include the updated music (that was later released in the AM2R Soundtrack) but the DMCA came in first.
As said, a lot of those features have already been added by fans.
Is there a current link to the game or is it still in development? Still have the original 1.0 version from before the Omega Metroid nerf, this shit sounds good
Can I get some funny tubeposts in here?
I love metroid but I dont like metroidvanias
Rain World is also not really a metroidvania
Well, that's true.
Fusion was just about expanding Samus character the suit change was because the team wanted it and the X was a gimmick that was their excuse to change the suit at the time.
Agreed, it's basically as bad as Halo 4's nanomachine explanation for Chief's suit change.
Fusion was okay but it feels like they really didn't think things through with giving Samus a new look. they could have just gave Samus a new suit and called it a day but they changed her DNA and then realized "oh man, we fucked up" and deus ex machina her old DNA back in the end so she could get her suit back to normal in the future. They really should have thought things through.
r/am2r
You'll have to download v1.1, and then download the patch. I don't believe there are any pre-compiled versions. I'm currently sitting on v1.4.2, but I dunno if anything newer has been pushed since then.
Is there anything left to add or did fans pretty much add everything DoctorM wanted?
This sounds so fucking retarded
>Spazer
>SM Varia
>Zebes
>Cacatac

>Super Metroid
I think the only thing left out of Doc's original goals is the graphical overhaul.
How do I get Citra working on my PC? And where did you get your cias?
Hollow Knight is grand. I haven't finished, but it's one of the few games that I keep playing and not once have I gone
>Hmm, if I was devving I would've done this instead
It's positively perfect, and a must for metroid fans. Still haven't touched Rainworld since I have a plethora of other games on my backlog. I also submit Axiom Verge.
Does anyone remember Ghost Song? Damn thing was announced six years ago and still isn't out.

>Ranklin
What does he have anything to do with these threads?
>How do I get Citra working on my PC?
I don't recall having to fiddle with any settings like you would with PCSX2 or Dolphin. I just downloaded and installed it.
>And where did you get your cias?
You mean the Samus Returns ISO? Just some torrent site.
Are fans working on that or is it moot with how good the game looks already?
I'm not fully up to date on development, but I heard they want to.
Thanks for the info user, guess I'll give the new version a look. Is it possible to transfer saves or would I have to restart from the beginning?
>Plasma beam in Super
>classic Varia in Prime

>speed booster
You CAN transfer saves, but it takes a bit of looking around. It's as simple as renaming a couple files. If you're just interested in the new gameplay modes, it'd be advisable to transfer since they don't unlock until you beat that game once. I think Fusion Mode has additional unlock requirements but I can't remember right now.

I too, also hated Super Metroid

>Arise, Metroid Prime
YOU GOT THE TOUCH! YOU GOT THE POWEEEEERRRRR!
YEAH!!
Serris/Yakuza have the second-best boss theme after Ridley.
And Prime 2 for that matter
>Ridley goes back to SR-388 after healing enough to get some more Metroids
>arrives just as Samus is returning to her ship with the last Metroid in existence
>attacks her to both kill her and take the Metroid
>gets defeated but remains conscious to watch Samus leave
>follows her to Ceres Station
>waits until she leaves and attacks it to take the Metroid
>Samus comes back due to distress signal
>Super Metroid starts
Doesn't look like shoehorning to me.
prime 2 is fucking shit for that exact reason

What I love about the Prime games is exploring, as I'm sure most of you love too. Going from place to place, checking out high locations, going through that tunnel that definitely isn't the way to progress the story but likely has something cool at the end of it. Hell, sometimes I would just stare and watch the NPCs and background animations.
I never cared much for the enemies, specifically because they are so bullet spongey. I understand that there should be enemies, so it's not like there shouldn't be any, but they take so fucking long to defeat when I just want to explore shit.
And I understand that sometimes you need a strong enemy to face so you aren't just rolling through the game, that's fine. What I'm referring to is when each new room has some generic enemy that is STILL bullet spongey.
Examples of this in MP3 are the Warp Hounds in that one large room on Bryo. There are three of them, and each time you enter that room you have to face them again.
Another example from MP3 is on the pirate homeworld and how frequently you run into generic space pirate grunts. These fights take like 5 minutes to get through (unless of course you just cruise through with Hypermode) for each damn room. Fighting Omega Pirates and Elites, fine that should take some time, but regular pirates in each room shouldn't bog the player down.

>But after all of it, the hatchling imprints itself on you and helps you escape the bowels of the planet. The player and Samus have committed genocide, and now you are forced to reflect on everything. To ponder on future possibilities with this new life that is seemingly innocuous.
>You know what that experience really needed? Ridley showing up.
>how would you all feel about Brie Larson playing Samus in a Metroid movie?
Only if she gets raped by Ridley live action. And Ridley is a big hollywood Jew.

I really doubt Samus pondered on anything like that after eradicating the Metroids. She dumps the kid off at the closest science station so ti can be examined and takes off.

When Angier buries Fowler alive in The Prestige without a care in the world, does that mean the audience doesn't ponder on how far the man is willing to go to learn the secrets of another?
She keeps that thing for like two years, dude
Thanks for the info eitherway, I'll try it later today.

Unfortunately nothing like that. Just miscellaneous Metroid content.
Faggot, I can see the gay
Are we supposed to feel that way though? Up until THE BABY imprints on us, Metroids are shown to be a threat to the entire galaxy. That'd be like being sad that we wiped out a disease or something.
Nah I didn't say sad. Just reflect. That's whatever it means to you.

It's undeniable that's what they were going for.
I like that outfit better than the Zero Suit, but for Samus herself I think her Hunters design is the best
Who made this?
A man of refined taste, here.
Always nice to have a decent Metroid thread, good work boys
Literally nobody on this entire planet ONLY played Other M, I don't know of another game that's bombed harder.
I prefer this to her look in Prime 2 and 3 mostly because those two iterations have no fucking chins and they look repulsive because of it.
>at times
Did you mean: at all times
Reminder that Prime 3 is story heavy, handholdy, and gimmicky because of Nintendo's meddling, not Retro
There is no possible way for her to come off as anything but a condescending bitch, so no. It's a horrible idea.
GF being the bad guys has only been don twice in the series, and both times you don’t directly fight them and it’s essentially the same scenario. I think there is more to explore there, but it’ll have to be someone other than Sakamoto that does it.
It's literally the easiest fight in fusion, what the fuck? You don't even have to cheese it like Yakuza, it's just easy as hell unlike literally everything else in the game.
