I'm not a big fan of things like The Last of Us, Uncharted, or the new God of War. They feel clunky and overly cinematic. I think Spiderman is the best first party game from Sony, or PS4 exclusive whatever you want to call them these days. But the reason why shit like this, the Nintendo first party, Resident Evil and the like sell are because they focus on single player experiences without really compromising for online shit or the games as service cancer model. They also tend to be Japanese and untouched by the root of progressivism that taints most Western developers who have their studios in fucking trash cities like San Francisco or Seattle.

They get what appeals to the core gamer, the people who gamed fifteen and twenty plus years ago. That audience has been ignored by Western developers so obviously they support products in droves when they cater to their interests
