When did you stop playing these?

When did you stop playing these?

Was it 3?
NV? (You and I both know it wasn't NV)
4?
76??

General fuck Bethesda thread I guess

Never? Playing 76 right now. Earning my scout badges so I can rank up to Possum and get my backpack

NV, didn't bother with 4 because of the simplication of the game

4.
It's just not a good game.

looking back, it's quite depressing to realize that a fallout 3 with new graphics would have been a superior alternative to what fallout 4 ended up being

4, I did get over 100 hours in it, but it just didnt exactly feel like the games before it. The dumb speech choices, the basebuilding, and lame story rubbed me the wrong way. Also getting power armor 3 minutes into the game made me want to quit and refund it as well.
Building up to getting power armor and a minigun in NV was the best Fallout experience i had and just mowing everyone down in the strip and surrounding areas was the best. Could never have enough 5mm though..

4 was my last FO game and that one was terrible.

3 is the best. NV is ok but way too linear. 4 is a disaster. No comment on 76. I expect Todd to announce a 3 remaster at E3 though.

>supposed to get classic collection for free due to owning FO76
>never get it
The fuck Bethesda?

Remember when everyone thought this was going to be a Fallout 3 Remake?

They forced the cancellation of the Capital Wasteland mod, pissed everyone off and then there were leaks that this was going to be Fallout 3 Remake.

It would have been perfect, Microsoft did the exact thing with Eldwrito and now they're porting all Halo games to PC but Bethesda released another trashing collecting simulator.

Played about 10 hours of 4 then stopped. Still go back to new vegas, the classics, and shelter from time to time.

76 is just trash i got it for 10 bucks and i still feel robbed that game is pure fucking garbage 4 is goty in comparaison

>I expect Todd to announce a 3 remaster at E3 though.
this would be terrible for PR considering how much the general consensus has shifted in NV's favor

besides, there's no chance they'll bring out Todd Howard this year, let alone to speak about Fallout, after the disaster release mere 6 months ago.

just started playing 4
with a lot of mods for my first playthrough

pretty fun desu, but its probably the mods making it better than it is

I actually enjoyed 4 for what it was, played to level 50 in 76 just to honestly give the game a shot but it’s unforgivably bad I can’t defend it. Might try it again today to get that backpack though as carrying Capacity was one of my main issues with the game.

I've played all of the Black Isle and Bethesda Fallout games. 1, 2, Tactics, 3, and 4. I also played the New Vegas spinoff developed by Obsidian, but I haven't played the recent Fallout 76 spinoff developed by BattleCry Studios as it was a full on action looter-shooter rather than an RPG.

I only play 3 and NV. Fuck 4 I'm not a baby sitter for the rest of the wasteland and whoever bought or is still playing 76 deserves no respect.

has there even been a Bethesda show without Todd in recent memory? I doubt they'd let the failure of a spin off game developed by a newly acquired studio to blemish their show. If anything they'll meme about it in the presentation then move on to showing new shit. I 100% expect Todd to be there to reveal Starfield in earnest this year.

Played Fallout 4 up to around level 50~ just to get the jetpack power armor. Quit after a while then played again without power armor up to the same level. Never finished the story because I could never become invested in it.

Played 76 after it went on its first amazon sale up to level 10.
Didn't even quit because of bugs or any of that other shit, it was just genuinely a horribly game that was not fun at all.

Fallout NV was the only Fallout I actually channeled my autism to go around and do as much shit as possible with how developed the world was while Fallout 3 holds fond memories of my younger self downloading my first porn mods and making prostitutes and fuck buddies out of various female characters in the game.

4, didnt bother finishing the main story, it all felt shallow
ended up fucking around with mods a bit, building bases and stuff but after that i never opened it again, i skipped 76

4.
Played them at launch since FO2, thought 3 was subpar but still an acceptable open world Bethesda game, NV was fucking great, and 4 was atrocious.
To put this into perspective, previously, I'd enjoyed every single Bethesda open world release (okay, minus redguard, jesus christ todd) and had enjoyed eventually playing every expansion/story DLC they released. I'm really, really easy to please when it comes to these kinda games. I'm talking 600-900hrs each game. So, for the first time in my over three decades of living, I bought a season pass. FO4 was so unbelievably bad I barely completed the main quest, did a bit of exploring, and promptly deleted it. 40hrs played, never touched the DLC from the season pass.
I guess I should thank Todd for teaching me not to buy season pass bullshit. Gave FO76 an extremely hard pass from the E3 announcement, looked like ass. Was great watching the dumpsterfire that it was. Hopefully the repeated kicks to the balls will teach Bethesda to stop doing stupid shit.

Can't play 4 or 76; They're still way too expensive and my computer is older so there'd be no point to it anyway. Waiting for a combination of great sale on games and for a new comp.

F1 was great; F2 was rushed. Only played the demo of Fallout Tactics. Even tried Van Buren; Too bad they never got to complete it.

fallout 4 was, in some ways, an even bigger disappointment than Skyrim. all of the things that made Beth Fallout fun was replaced with the most clunky ass minecraft clone shit that just ruined it.

No really wacky areas or people to meet, very few and far between side quests, awful combat and enemies. it just sucked. progression was over the top and they dumbed down and ruined their RPG elements like perks. and the game was so dumb itself, there was really no need to even keep most of the paltry RPG elements they did.

NV was my last. 4 just looked like shit and I didn't have a modern console or PC at the time anyway.

I really didn't care for Fallout 4 at launch. It was a huge step back in terms of RPG elements. That said, when the survival mode was patched in I fell completely in love with 4. Still not really an RPG but a damn fun post apocalyptic survival simulator. Not being able to fast travel or hard save on command completely changed the game for me to the point where I can't imagine playing another open world RPG any other way.

4. I didn't even complete it.

Obsiniggers are so obnoxious

100% 4 then went back to NV to never come back

after NV, didnt even bothered with 4 cuz I knew it would be shit.

I eventually caved and got 4 complete edition or whatever when it was dirt cheap last year.

It's fucking terrible. Boring, grindy, basically everything wrong with Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim with the stupid Minecraft shit bolted on too. Also the companions are fucking terrible cringe shit, especially the romance lines.

The only thing I liked was making a shotgun build and going around with a suped-up double barrel annihilating dungeons, but even then if you build a good character you can have just as much fun in New Vegas doing the same thing.

Sadly, 4 is probably the best nu-Fallout of the series. It doesn't even pretend to be an rpg; if you play it as an FPS/Minecraft clone, it's pretty fun on survival.

I'm glad I dodged the 76 bullet.

>NV is ok but way too linear.
What NV did you play? Compared to 3, NV had way more openness

I love NV, but come on, dude. You know that just isn't true.

NV. Why wouldn't I have stopped at NV? Was pretty clear 4 was going to be shit from the first few gameplay trailers.

Not him, but in quest design and story new vegas is way more open.

I am currently playing fallout 3 on PS3. It's so much better than 4 I can't even believe it.

NV quests have far more solutions and outcomes that are actually different.

4. Why in the fuck did they think it was a good idea to limit the dialog to four basic options: Yes, [Sarcastic] Yes, No (Yes later), and Yes????

Everything is always in the same place it's always going to be in that game, every time you play it. Walk towards Primm, there's a roach and a gecko, Walk out of Primm, there's Viper gangs, giant ants, and Rad Scorpions, Walk towards Nipton, there's ant's in the dust storm, walk towards Novac, there's Viper gang members, and Legionaries, and a traveling caravan. It's the same every single time. I'm sure that is what the user was referring to when he said it was linear.

Yes, it's not a roguelike with randomly generated world. What did you expect? Everything is always at the same place in Fallout 3 too.
If you want to change the world, install some mods.

Why did they think it was a good idea to spend development time and money recording over 1,000 names a robot can call you once at the beginning of the game.

>INB4 "he calls you it if he's your companion sometimes, too"

No it's not, Fallout 3 has a very large amount of random encounters. We're not talking about mod's here.

Does loot ever respawn

4. It has better grafix than previous games (not that it's saying much, no amount of ENB can stop Skyrim from looking like shit with muddy textures), better shooting, power armor was fun, I really liked weapon modding. Yet it felt empty as fuck. My guess it's because of settlement building. Why bother with filling world with interesting towns when player can do it himself?
Also gutted roleplaying system.

>Why bother with filling world with interesting towns when player can do it himself?
Why in the living hell would I spend 75% of my time fucking building shit. Just why? It may look like a good concept but not for anything and everything.

As someone with over 50 hours in every game barring tactics and bos, I can say that they are all pretty good games except 76. Bethesda over casualizes the games as a business practice but it’s clear they can write and develop an incredible fallout game—see Far Harbor.

But the quests (arguably the most important part of a fucking fallout game) are extemely linear.

>Everything is always at the same place in Fallout 3 too
If you're talking about NPCs, this statement is factually wrong. The unpredictability of wasteland encounters is a welcome feature and one of the few advantages 3 has over NV

>played 1
>played 2
>didn't care about tactics
>didn't play 3
>tried NV and ragequit over how fucking shit the mechanics are and how fucking goddamn buggy the game is
>never again

4 has the best gameplay but they somehow made the writing more boring than 3. Im honestly sick and tired of the vault then "epic" sun in my eyes when i get out of the vault opening.

>Why in the living hell would I spend 75% of my time fucking building shit. Just why? It may look like a good concept but not for anything and everything.
I'm pretty sure he was being ironic user. But yeah, base building is gay. Even with all these mods I have installed to make better settlements it doesn't change shit since the settlers' AI is so fucking braindead that you'll realize only when it's too late that all those hours you poured into making the best settlement have gone head first down the fucking drain.

Attached: not happy.png (253x369, 213K)

Nah i dont see any irony. The game feels like they hollowed out interesting locations to let you play virtual lincoln logs in them instead.

Yep, you're a retard
