The developers of final fantasy have an experimentation ideology. You are NOT supposed to like all their games. They experiment with different concepts, atmosphere and combat systems for the sake of novelty.
Games are supposed to be hit or miss, that's exactly how Final Fantasy got popular to begin with. If they kept recycling the same game starting from 1. They would end up complete nobodies not even getting a single discussion thread. It is okay for final fantasy to make a game that causes its audience to hate it, because it's that innovation that leads to them making a surprise hit later down the line. FF7 wouldn't exist if they weren't willing to take risks.
Literally no one remembers most of the dragon quest series, there's like 2 that each individual would possibly remember because of how identical they are from one to another, that it causes most games in the series to be completely forgettable.
The fact that these games people bash, have a huge crowd of people trolling always trying to mock them. Shows how much it stuck in peoples mind, that people are able to vividly remember details about these games for the sake of criticizing shows that the developers accomplished their goal of making something different that leaves a lasting impression on gamers.
The fact that Yea Forums is dumb enough to put their expectations on something that the developers don't even TRY to do. Shows they're just mindless consumers.

That's honestly why I still come here, whenever I'm iffy on a game, I come here to see if it makes everyone asshurt and if it does then i figure it's an alright game unless it's a series i dont fuck with. So far games that Yea Forums's hate has made me love playing so far are
