>Made by Mike Bithell
shame, I liked his stuff... but he's become an Epic faggot then I will pirate his shit from now on..
This would look bad even on PS2. Is that mobile game? What were they thinking?
>Epic exclusive
Epic makes phone games now?
>Fast paced action movie where you miss it if you blink
>Turn based tactical strategy game where you have to plan your moves accordingly
Who the fuck thought mixing the two would be a good idea?
errr, looks shit.
hard fucking pass.
animations look like dogshit
This looks cheap and awful
Looks like a shitty Frozen Synapse
Probably the same people who thought that Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days was a good idea.
Obviously it looks like shit, but the decision to use the John Wick license to make a turn based strategy game is bafflingly stupid too. It's a pity because a proper John Wick TPS with stylish gunplay and an actual budget would be fun as fuck.
>Max Payne 3 except it's John Wick and fast movement
IMAGINE
That's it right there
Epic hate aside, what are you talking about?
John Wick's fighting style is all about these extremely swift and varied attacks as well as picking battles and limiting his engagements to small numbers of mooks even in a room with many of them.
To make this into TPS, the skill ceiling would have to be obscene, or the gameplay would have to be slowed down enough so average normie could actually process and defeat enemies in appropriately John Wick style.
TBS in that sense is a great idea, as it allows you to execute Wick-style chains and combos without having to resort to slow-mo or making it too difficult.
I'd personally prefer something with timers and smart pause like 7.62, where you actually have to manage real life seconds instead of turns to chain together a stylish takedown.
What's the deal with incels and armchair recruits with John Wick ? It's a mediocre film at best.
Looks like a fucking flash game. What the fuck was the budget, a few flattened toilet roll tubes?
How is slomo worse than literally pausing the universe so you can input John's next attack? Shut the fuck up, retard.
John Wick was so good. It didn't deserve the sequel and this shit.

Because the action itself isn't slowed down, you can see in the trailer that Wick's choreography is at appropriate speed and pacing after you make your decisions.
This permits you to actually simulate his reflexes, and deal away with various handholding mechancis such as Max Payne 3's slow mo and last stand without alienating somebody who won't be able to grind the game to the max just to achieve Wick-like gameplay.
>Gun has literally no animation just a shitty flash effect

One good thing about EGS: it shows what devs are not to be trusted
Something like this would work if it was all real time. You have two people you need to kill and you can't pause it to plan out your attack. John Wick doesn't have that luxury and neither should we. The trailer showed that the game does pause and because of that, I feel it's not an authentic experience. I'm still interested, but what's the point?
I mean Gearbox and Obsidian were forced to use Epic Games by their publisher for Borderlands 3 and Outer Worlds respectively
I doubt we'd ever see anything that lets you overcome John Wick-tier odds without at least some sort of equalizer, be it slow-mo, mark and execute or whatever else press Q to judo.
On the bright side, it seems that it's a tiny bit deeper than usual XCOM gameplay, which while good made finding a modern TBS without it extremely hard. Especially one about modern gunfighting.
The game's main flaw is not that it's John Wick or TBS, but that the graphics are total trash. Wick fires his gun while the finger is in the cool kid trigger discipline position, something that could be accouned for rather easily. It really does look like a mobile game, when even Unity can output things that look much more pleasant.
Go play Hong Kong Massacre, it does everything you want from a quick shooting game
When I saw that trailer. I assumed it was something akin to Killer 7. I still have little faith in this game, but as with all things, I hope it proves me wrong and actually turns out good. I like Xcom and John Wick, but the two together would lead to some things clashing.
His statement still stands.
>gameplay isn't Max Payne: Stranglehold Boogaloo
>Hong Kong Massacre
While that looks good, it literally does nothing that I want.
Hong Kong Massacre, Max Payne, etc are all about cinematic shooting popularized by John Woo and the usage of slow-mo is a homage to these movies, as well as a way to make run-dive-gun-dodge-the-rain-drops gameplay viable.
John Wick is about cinematic gunfighting, but still sprinkled with realism. Wick employs real-life tactics and skillsets to defeat his opponents in a way that seems believable. He gets suppressed, he gets beat, he catches lead, but he manages to overcome through what seems to be skill.
Max Payne and the like overcome their odds thanks to cinematic magic, where drunk pill-hopped baldman can shootdodge an entire battalion of specops into a coffin. Similar appears in Hong Kong Massacre.
You are a sufferer from downs

>John Wick is now suddenly akimbo expert.
This is worse than that one time they made a Hard Boiled game and included rail-sliding as a legitimate combat move and not a forced stumble it was in the movie.
Remember when Tim Sweeney said that the Epic Games Store would be heavily curated and would only have good games?
>slow
no thanks.
