There has to be a valid reason, right? I mean in other boards outside of individual posters who'll encourage you to buy the content (and usually it's for niche content) nobody gives a fuck. But here it's like you're raping a little girl in public when you say you pirate games.
>because its asshole pirates that are the reason we get nickel and dimed by microtransactions
>he believes this
Aiden Gomez
Doesnt happen in literally any other medium tho. Series are pirated, mangas are pirated, books are pirated, creation software are pirated, tutorials are pirated, movies are pirated, music is pirated, comic books are pirated.
The sad state of your medium cannot be attributed to piracy.
Brayden Russell
know this, it's no joke. they pay for mod protection
Isaiah Bennett
80% of this board are shills and they do it for free, you tell me. The other 20% are console only peasants.
Mason Harris
Piracy is for losers. Just wait for sale.
Justin Davis
I don't think the board in general is. I think it's just memes, and shills.
Some reasons for the apparent or actual anti-piracy on Yea Forums >Lots of console gamers, Piracy is seen as a PC thing, so shitting on it is a way to shit on PC gamers. Anti-piracy is a proxy war for the console war. >Actual shills. >Old people who started browsing and don't get it >Very young people who have brought up in the nu-order
Lucas Gonzalez
i wouldn't say im PRO piracy but im not against it. im a lot more picky about when i spend money on games these days and time spent. only games i pirated were ones that you cant buy anymore, or the pirate version runs better than the retail version. i will say i wouldn't have bought insurgency if it wasn't for my buddy and i playing a pirated version at his house. ended up loving it. off topic but i got a off brand power brick for my laptop cause Asus doesn't sell replacements for older models and my laptop has been shocking me now.
Unlike pretty much every other industry, direct sales are the only source of revenue for good games.
Piracy is a necessity though.
Nathaniel Gomez
>There has to be a valid reason, right? Redditors, shitposters and shills.
Austin Perry
Absolutely this.
100% correct. Seriously, no fucking joke.
Yea Forums is shill city
Wyatt Thomas
>pirate fags come in bragging how poor he is while acting smug >why do you hate us? :( I wonder why. I don't think I've seen a single thread people pretending to feel superior over the products aside from denuvo shitposters and falseflaggers.
Parker Lee
>He didn't spend his money on a digital game >He must be poor! Paypig cope.
Yea Forums is filled with normalfag bootlickers that think those giant faceless corporations are their friends
Levi Gutierrez
Because game companies do shill more in online gaming forums, and Yea Forums ends up on their list of forums to shill.
Christopher Lewis
Pirate by reference and pirate by value
Learn the difference causal
Aaron Ross
It demands more human semen
Leo Phillips
I'm not poor, and that is in part thanks to the fact that I don't spend money on video games
Kayden Jenkins
Shhills.
Daniel Jackson
Unironically because Yea Forums has a disproportionate amount of literal paid shills influencing the board. Now why this is the case here on Yea Forums in particular I don't know. But it is undoubtedly the case.
John Cox
because the vast majority browsing this board now is people young enough to be familiar with the internet but raised in an era of censorship and virtue signalling. also corporate dicksucking
Jaxson Wright
This. If they just discussed the games no one would even know the difference, but pirates never shut the fuck up about the fact they got a game without paying for it. No one wants to listen to bragging in the first place, nevermind about something so inane. >waaah why do people hate me You sound like the shoplifting rings on tumblr, fuck off
>not spending your hardly earned ducats on rum and whores
Samuel Perez
>If they just discussed the games no one would even know the difference, but pirates never shut the fuck up about the fact they got a game without paying for it. Maybe pirates do sometimes shut up about that, because as you say, you'd never know the difference.
Jeremiah Williams
lol
Grayson Diaz
This board is a Christian board, and piracy is Christian.
Underaged userbase, rabid company and brand loyalty that doesn't exist with other industries the same way except for like Apple fags.
Thomas Smith
If you pirate games or something else then you are poor and can't afford this, that means you should be shamed for that because all poor people are stupid
Paying for streaming anime does nothing for the industry, buying a 5 dollar keychain of your favorite show supports it more than years of subscriptions fees. Movies are cheap, pirating instead of paying for a 5 dollar digital rental or 10 dollar Blu-ray release isn't worth shit to the company in the long run. Individual games are many magnitudes more expensive than other entertainment and that, plus some industry propaganda for guilting, has convinced people that their 60 dollar purchase of a AAA game that sells many millions of copies means anything. For niche titles I'll concede, a 10-100k selling titles getting your 60 bucks does matter, not even just the cash part but the fact it shows the market for their game is there, for AAA trash that doesn't matter at all.
devil's advocate here. you can also blame the whales on their frivolous spending and overall being loose with money that encourages these shitty practices.
William Anderson
But I dont get the income. More like it destroys the income, in which case it would be vandalism or something like that. Cannot be theft if Im not getting the income I steal from the creator
Fun fact - piracy itself is not a crime. You just get a free game and play it. However, cracking a game is a crime, violating it`s license agreement. Picking up a dollar bill from the street is not a crime, breaking the ATM is. However, corporate shills want to make end users criminals.
