I'm calling bullshit on this because all the mediocre anime-style games released in Japan always have the "character design by" credit right at the beginning like it's the most important thing so they bring it up first. Even in Persona 5 it's the fucking second credit in the intro after the game's director.
Good Japanese games are god tiered but their mediocre / shitty games are just as soulless and superficial as western mediocre / shitty games.
