Been playing it non stop since I got it, but is it just me or this like 5 times more complicated than lbp?

Incredible game limited by shitty console tech.
What people have managed to build in it only after months of getting used to the tools is amazing and will only get better as time goes on.
But it will never reach its true potential due to the being a Sony exclusive and trapped on a DRM box.

Specifically in this instance I think it's because this game is significantly limited by it's platform. I'm not mad it's am exclusive, but there's a limit to how much you can build in the game that was definitely decided by the PS4s weaker hardware. As a creation tool it would be able to achieve a lot more on PC or just more powerful hardware.

Bullshit. There are obvious limits to model complexity and amount of objects per level, not to mention all the constraints from not having real scripting language support.
It's a great tool but don't even try to act like it's limitless.

You never explained to me how those things are a limit to achieve anything tangible.

For one, it means you can't make large open worlds because the game doesn't allow you to save a level with more than X number of objects, or X complexity. I don't know the exact numbers because the calculation is complex, but right now on PS4, it's a harsh limit and even small scenes will hit it if they're detailed

No PC has the same limits. You can't make stuff infinitely it will still hit a limit in the exact same areas.

The ceiling will be much higher. Of course it's hardware-dependent which would create a problem with sharing and playing community levels, though

Really nigga? Thermometer is tuned based on PS4's hardware to keep the game running relatively smoothly. Stronger hardware would mean more thermo, therefore more sculpts per scene and higher complexity

Yeah but in practice, it isn't much of a limitation. You can get around that extremely easily, just like devs do with other engines. Emit things into existance and then despawn them as you need them etc. that will help your gameplay thermo by quite a bit. For graphics thermo you can still use LOD models just like conventional devs do.

I just don't get how PC's are so much better, when the only advantage i have ever seen on a PC is FPS and resolution in a select amount of games where the graphics fidelity isn't the most impressive on PS4 anyway.

They keep saying that consoles are limited, and everytime they give off some arbitrary reasoning as to why, they can't actually put into words what exactly is the problem.
The devs at Mm even said that their engine guys etc. haven't even looked at the PC space since 2012 because the tailored this engine to the PS4 hardware 100% The GNM API allows for things that the PC API's like Vulkan and DX12 just doesn't allow them do to. For instance, they use the GPU to LOAD the levels into memory, a use of GPGPU compute that has never ever been done anywhere else.

Shape blending is a sculpt mode only thing, you can't do it at runtime (maybe on PS5 if demand for that feature is high enough? it's probably computationally expensive). You can only animate that sort of thing in a stop motion kind of way by powering on/off different sculpts from a timeline but that's time consuming and hard to get right

PC doesn't have multi million dollar exclusives like ps4 and xbox has cause there's no company behind PCs, ps4 has sony and xbox has microsoft, both pay dev studios to make exclusives, while PC is not owned by anyone to make exclusives for it, if an exclusive exists it's either because the devs prefer PC or the game wouldn't translate well to consoles.
So you can't blame PCs for not having good exclusives
