If it is a team mode you should probably just try to ignore him and kill his team till he is alone and then fuck him up. If it's just you vs him, having a longer range weapon really helps. It is hard for them to get in when you stand max distance and poke their shields.

The other strategy is to move towards the side of their body that is holding the weapon (IE, the part not covered by a shield) and swing around his shield to hit him. The only issue is that shield hitboxes are a little fucky right now and extend a bit too far past the shield. If they make shield guarding more precise, then shields will become much easier to deal with.

Outrange them, it's the easiest way to deal with shields. Bait a swing, step back and poke the fucker.

I find this not working since people (and myself when I play with shield) just easily close in on you with shield up and then start spamming attacks. You can't really hild off people at range in this game unless there are other people beside you and enemy is afraid to close in. No matter you reach you can always close in with a simple guard.

Should I be using Ranger or Huntsmen on my Recurve Bow/Melee weapon build? The point is to be close range and fire arrows into people until they get close then to kill them.

Ranger seems nice to be able to move faster while in close range, but Huntsmen is good for killing enemy archers.

Personally I didn't notice any significant change in not using Ranger, but maybe it's just me.

I don't have much trouble parrying them but when the cunt is face hugging me and flinging that shit around, it goes right through my parry since i don't manage to go for the tip. Whenever I try to pull off a riposte after parrying as well it usually doesn't work since he hits me before my release animation even happens.

many will tell you that archers are useless, but I dabble in it and it's pretty easy to get top 5 on the scoreboard as an archer. A lot of it will be from assists and counter sniping other archers. Just make sure you are proficient enough in melee combat to equip a 2 point weapon and fuck up whoever thinks you are easy prey. Crossbow and recurve are useless, use a longbow.

Perks and equipment can be switched at will, the only thing you're limited by is weapons costing gold to unlock and amor customisation.

only 3 slots matter for defense, everything else is cosmetic. Head, torso, and legs are the only slots that give you defense, and you get free gear for each level of armor in each of those slots. In summary, wear a helmet peasant.

it's a little easier to follow with sound, makes it easier to tell parries and chambers that hit at the edge of the screen vs the feints

dodge is useless, spec out of that and pick up rush and bloodlust. your modus operandi is to harass people engaging in duels by punching them in the back of the head and then sprinting off to the next duel with your superior speed. t. someone who has fisted for like 3 hours and eventually was able to get a positive KD with it, before I got tired of getting one shot and retired the loadout.

chambering has its pitfalls, feint mindgames go a long way, footwork can do a lot, and swing manipulation is very important

Bloodlust is a very good perk, friendly is only needed when you're using a long slashy weapon like the zweihander. Dodge is good for spear to stay at max range. Others are extremely niche and mostly useless

I feel like the shield users I play against can't be outmaneuvered like this. The blocking angle is so wide that all they need to do is look slightly left or right and I'm blocked. If I manage to land a kick, even if I immediately start an attack, they always raise their shield up again. And they always have very fast weapons, too.

That's why the turn rate while shield is up needs to be reduced and there needs to be lagtime for either pulling the shield up or down.
What you actually need to do is move past them and swing.

spear+shield is the ultimate chad loadout. sword knights try so hard to kill you, but the chad is untouchable by their feeble efforts.

Halberd is actually really shitty unless you trap people. Other than that there's no purpose.

when you land a kick immediately combo with stab. use aggressive footwork because they can only backpedal so much. im not great against sheild either, but my game is to outstam them or confuse them into putting their shield down and attempting to an attack right while you have one coming for them already (think drags, intentionally missed swings, etc.)

Every hit you land on a shield is a win for you because they lose stamina and you do not, just keep bashing them and keeping up the pressure until they crack.
