But the answer is that most people generally dont care about politics in the game if the political views are expressed through the narrative elements and themes of the story. What people have a problem with is when political messages are blatantly tacked on without any nuance or complexity. For example, a game about a war (say WWIIt) is obviously going to be inherently political. But this would be done through the narrative, like playing as either the Soviets or Germans, depicting either the mass rapes by Russians or the extermination of entire villages by the Germans, creating empathy for the Germans stuck in Stalingrad or the Soviet citizens starving in Leningrad. This is what the first 3 games do. It wouldn't be done by blatantly saying 'One side bad, one side good'

Of course, this is only true if the game's political views don't agree with the player's, otherwise they don't really care.
