Why did RTS fail when MOBA exploded in popularity?
Why did RTS fail when MOBA exploded in popularity?
because americans who founded the gaming culture in the early days are retarded casuals
rts require 500 actions per minute while moba only has QWER, 4 keys to hit
perfect for an average american to play since theyre busy eating a cheeseburger with their greasy fat fingers with another hand
Because MOBAs are just infinitely dumbed down RTS games? Casuals eat the braindead shit up.
And they are not even good at MOBAs
>RTS
>if you lose you have no one to blame but yourself.
>MOBA
>wtf my team is feeding
zoomers are afraid of 1v1 games, not to mention mobas have a far lower mechanical skill ceiling.
Just about the only good thing to come out of this battle royale fad is that gaming is getting a taste of pvp you can participate in solo again (of course cowards will still stick with the squad option). It's been a long and retarded decade of team based mobas and hero brawlers.
dota is overall much more difficult than gookclick. Just because you switch between your control group and spam clicking movement orders 300 times per minute doesn't mean you're actually doing anything impressive most of the time.
1. Zoomers don't have a long enough attention span.
2. Nearly every RTS since late 00s tried to become an apm autism esport instead.

That's literally what moba shitters do too, except it's one unit.
