Herein lies the issue with the entire point. We cannot judge the morality of the new world compared to the old one because we don't know the entire state of the world and how it interacted with each person.
For all we know, while 49% of the population got a rough time of it, 51% may be better off.
It's impossible to make a moral judgment about returning the world to it's previous state without truly understanding the world in it's current state.
For a game with an anti-escapism message, it sorta forgets that this world actually exists and that it only classes as escapism because of the method in which they got to the world.
