It's a shame we can't play with 1's lineup in 2. 2 is just mechanically better, with characters picking conversations back up between hands if they get cut off, and odds of winning during showdowns.

1's line-up isn't as good as 2's but has way better dialogue, so 1

Heavy carried the first game on his back. Tycho is grating, Max is intentionally grating, and Strong Bad is alright.

Those Penny Arcade RPGs were a thing at the time, plus PAX was turning into a fairly big deal.
Weirdly enough PAX is probably the only relevant thing those guys do any more.

2 has a much better lineup but 1 is the better game.

Both are just meh online poker with bots though, so it's pretty negligible.
