People only complain about the characters NOW. When it was initially released that game was considered a graphical stunner to the extent they took out full page ads in magazines telling Nintendo to kill themselves. Really puts it into perspective.

I enjoyed it too, although I think it could have been better if it had less repetitive content and more things to do. The driving is fun, and it ratchets up well at the end.

I just wish the convoys were bigger honestly. Or that they had random/respawning ones

It's weird how it suddenly became cool to hate FF7 in recent years. Up until the mid-2000s or so everyone agreed it was one of the best games ever made and then suddenly something clicked and it just became nonstop shitting on the game.

Same with Ocarina of Time. I wonder if younger people just got too overhyped on them and went in with way too high expectations. Or more likely dumb YouTubers are to blame

Dumb Youtubers are certainly to blame for a lot of stuff. I've lost count of how many games have been ruined by Pewdiepie in particular.
