The quality drop is fairly obvious. I would still call Season 4 entertaining from an informative standpoint, but it's just not funny. At least it's not cringy, boring, and filled with stale jokes + overacting like newer seasons.

Nah, they're still good. For me, the end of the "Golden Age" was Atari Sports. Ikari Warriors was the episode after that, and it was just James and Kyle trying to awkwardly improvise (which clearly isn't a strength of theirs). Then, the episode after that was Toxic Crusaders, which is the definitive jump the shark point for AVGN. There were decent episodes here and there after that, but the era of being consistently good was pretty much over.

The only episodes in the earlier years that I can't really watch are the sketch-heavy ones. They can get a little cringey.

If you browsed her twitter for more than five seconds you'd know "the fight" is referring to her struggles with ocd.

James always added the skits. Mike wrote the gameplay parts in the early episodes

I do believe that to an extent, Mike is the unsung hero of Cinemassacre. He's a really good behind-the-camera presence, he just has no place trying to be an onscreen personality.

That’s how it is now. Years ago, Mike wrote the game portions of avgn. In the classic eras. It was obviously co-written between both of them, but I believe James was more about filming the “skits” where Mike handled the games.
If you watch their Monday episodes it becomes pretty obvious.
