I should leave in two years when I hit 30.
Underrated Gems
not much like it, good combat, bad exploration
Which game comes first?
post underrated gems
Absolutely based
A bit weird overall but VP2 was amazing.
are hidden gems allowed?
search your heart, you know it to be true
This is the definitive post that separates boomers from zoomers on Yea Forums.
Zoomers would know nothing about bonus.com while every kid with an internet connection at the time knew of it.
innocent sin.
Will we ever get anything like Ultima Online again? I also loved strict RP servers, the French Canadian community was chill af.
post games where you collect hidden gems
What was the last good era here?
Fuck this game, I became a weeb because of it
Late Millenial Gen Y was the last true vidya era , after that with the rise of development cost the ps3/xbox360 era brought entire genres dissapeared and adding salt on the injury the boom of fps cod brought , everything was trying to be cod and mature with western devs that gen , the ps3 gen was the worst gen in vidya history for the change that brought
What were your thoughts on the wii.
Years ago Yea Forums was like "Oh man imagine Yea Forums years from now having nostalgia for Tobuscus, Skyrim, and MW2." Years later, Zoomers are posting nostalgia for those, the shitposts came true in the end, lol.
Playing it now t b h
based sam poster
fags are already posting Halo threads. I never got what people were raving about that mediocre FPS.
bump
zoomer here
I used to play this game all the time with my brother as a little shit. Aliens were most fun to play for me. The campains for the predalien DLC were kinda short and sloppy. Best part was the multiplayer obviouly. Are there still active servers?
Well that happens to everyone. Gen Xers probably cringed at people your age having nostalgia for Pokemon.
bump
i had this game when my dad's manchild friend was storing his videogame collection at our house while he was moving, but could never get the fucking thing to save my game. replayed it years later on an emulator without that problem, and it still stands up in its own weird combination of fighting game and rpg. really kickass, nothing else on the n64 remotely similar AFAIK, though for some reason I always got the name of this one confused with body harvest.
didnt realize you already posted this
These edits are terrible and only the doom one makes sense, really.
>bow and arrow the best
>posts image of cerebral bore
???
>Clock Tower 3
That game is fucking trash. The only good thing about it is the cutscenes and that's because they got a proper film director to do them.
Game is terrible.
>japshit
I thought OP excluded zoomers?
>Oni
>developed by Bungie
>published by Rockstar
>japshit
>that part when you sneak in a sleeping security's guy's room as a Facehugger
>that part when you bite through his chest from the inside
This was so much better than the xbox sequel. I hate bullshit simple flight mechanics. Dumb it down a bit but don't dumb it down to the point where it's "Push X to get the game to do a loop for you."
having not played the second game (though i really want to), i agree, i like the fact that in the first game it's still somewhat like flying a plane, pseudo-sim, you have to steer the plane somewhat like a plane and you have speed settings, and the plane slows down when climbing, and if you climb at low speed you could stall, it's great, little things like that add up, plus it really felt like you were flying one of those exotic planes. also means there are more tricks you can pull off and it requires more skill. what i like about the sequel though is the outlandishness of it and the fantasy element is more pronounced.
basically in the first game you feel like you're pulling off aerobatic aerial maneuvers, whereas in the second game it's like rogue squadron, ie just move the analogue stick right and the plane wil dart in the direction you want it to. makes it more of a shooter than an arcade game, but still the setting is enough to sell it for me.
That part when a cat gets MEORRD
Quarantine Survival 24/7
>think any japshit is zoomershit
I know who's an actual zoomer, here.
>I know who's an actual zoomer, here.
You are since you seem to think Japan has ever made anything good.
Mad halo fag?
It isn't just that things have changed so much but that the rate of change is increasing. I hope you don't feel it anons, but I do - I'm young but I've already lived too long. Kaczynski had it right, this is fucked.
They had to dumb it down for consolefaggots, mechassault/mechassault2 had the same kind of problems compared to, say, mechwarrior
But you two posted the same game.
yeah but one's better because it's star wars. fuck history.
>thinks he can just leave
I’m 33 and have been posting here for like 14 years.
None of them were good, but Core millennial based on that image.
is there are more boomer game than simcity / railroad tycoon 2/ openTTD ?
Based
I only played the demo when I was a kid, worth going back to?
definitely, you can grab battlezone 98 redux off GOG or steam, came out a couple years ago, great upgraded textures, widescreen support, native win10 support, the extra campaign / "expansion" more current multiplayer support, and even VR support...its a really good game with an oculus rift, but obviously even without.
Name a more innovative RTS of its era
Innovative.
Couple more years we'll have the Fortnite refugees
I mean. A little past TA, and not exactly a pure RTS, but...
Bloodhawk with 2 .70s were the shit. Fuck Hoplites though, pain in the ass to fly, pain in the ass to shoot down annoying fucks
Nice, sounds good.
Do either of the Zoo Tycoon games count?
pirate it and buy it if you like it is what told my friend
he liked it a lot.
i played the original and have been wanting to replay it but havent made the time. but i did buy the remaster.
its just another game i buy and never play.
rip.
oh fuck i hate hoplites so fucking much. they're like bothersome flies. my favourite plane in the game was probably the brigand, it's the most balanced of them all, can do ground attack as well as dogfight, durable, reasonable agile, easy to fly. as for straight dogfighters, i usually went for the fury rather than the bloodhawk, even though it's jangly as fuck to fly. devastator is also nice, best handling out of them all.
i only wish the ai rear gunners could shoot for shit. man this game must have been fun online, i wish there was still a way.
This is god tier
i had the pc version, yeah it's great, especially winding up walkers with the snowspeeder.
favourite mission was maybe the jade moon, evading the missiles in the canyons etc and taking out the at-pts.
Other boomer user here (32yr old)
There were some good games and it held the casuals away from PC and other consoles, well played ninty.
Man that game was a banger, loved the predator camping.
Delta Force games. Back when Novalogic was a god and games like Rainbow 6: Siege didn't exist.
>boomer
>zoomer
Nice facebook meme, kill yourself.
When EA was good.
Wow the nostalgia blast hit me so hard from this it drove me into depression.
Thanks.
>one of the visor settings allowed you to see light sources so you could see soldiers by their gun mounted flashlights like in predator 2
No need to use it because you had thermal vision but it was a great touch.
you're absolutely based OP
First AvP was better.
I love the "Gamespy: Best of E3" accolade.
Lol, Gamespy ran the multiplayer servers until 2014.
2fast and shit Predator
frontline, the console equivalent, was also great. and rising sun. in fact i stopped being interested in MOH after that, it looked like they went for a more realistic look/feel, i liked the fun of the first few games, the indiana jones adventure style feel.
Nah, it was unnecessarily fast, and somehow also felt floaty with most attacks no having impact, and aliens being made of plastic and egg shells
Its a shame novalogic seemed to have vanished completely. A modern Joint Ops would be amazing.
Multiplayer was the best.
TA was amazing. I loved building these huge artilleries all over the map.
I mostly played Alien so I did not really notice it being too fast or that the Predator sucked.
I've read that the company is literally one guy now, just doing enough to keep the servers up and running and occasionally releasing the odd patch here and there.
mfw i hate everything here and was born late 90s and remember this shit taking over my old cartoons in tv and other media
fuck this particular motherfucking "culture"
MOHAA is probably my favorite multiplayer fps of all time. It was also when I was at my best with keyboard/mouse. Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Battlefield 4, and PlanetSide 2 are also some of my favorite multiplayer FPS.
Cowabunga anons.
Wasn't a very good game but well, flying a dragon as a hot babe got me hooked.
This is my favorite christmas game
one of the best fps ever
>Harvest Moon
>Arc the Lad
>Vagrant Story
>Clock Tower
>Legacy of Kain
>considering any of these extremely well known game series as "underrated"
Are you fucking 12?
Only good aspects of the first AvP were endless waves and random spawn places of Xenomorphs.

terra nova is cool, shame about all the cut features like multiplayer because they spent way too much money/time on fmv cutscenes
Airborne is good, yeah it lacks the undercover spy stuff that the previous games had though
Everyone in my country still plays it
this and Blitzkrieg were amazing.
This game was pretty great, but it really needed a mid-mission save option
where do you live ?
I love this game. I must have replayed and finished it over a dozen times.
Love the combat controls.
GOD this was so kino. This along with JKJA are still the best star wars games imo.
Microsoft's Motocross Madness 1/2
>initiating Booster Protocol
madness series was pure fun racing kino
monster truck madness is where its at my friends
MAGIC CLAW!!
The most based marine ever. Show me another marine who would go into a xenomorph hive THREE TIME for his homies.
fucking KINO
Not gonna pretend I played this back in the day, but this was kino adventure 2bh
>marine who would go into a xenomorph hive
That second hive descent (Long Detour mission or sth like that) still gives me flashbacks.
Marine missions were the scariest and Predator's the creepiest imo.
times were so simple then
gods why cant i go back and play it
where did the time go
time to die
oh jeez i haven't thought about this game in ages
i loved it
Looks cute.
Anyone played Primal Hunt, I don't remember much about it, but i think it was worse than the original version?
Three times no less. The 3rd one was at least fun because of A.L.I.C.E.
That final level where you were going after Rykov was maximum Alien.
Good mah man
>it was worse than the original version
BOY, THIS IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Luckily only in terms of single player. Multiplayer was slightly improved over the original.
Pakistan
First IGI is still popular in Finland.
You could carry and place sentry guns in PH. It was pretty nice.
Best FPS of the 90's, quake and doom kiddies ain't got shit on this
Make one for wolf3d pls so I can feel included.
Actually, does this count as FPS?
Outta my way FPSlets, one of the best WW2 FPS/TPS games coming through.
It's basically Rainbow Six in WW2. It's also a clunky, buggy piece of shit but I love it and encourage you to play it.
Fantastic game with an even better soundtrack.
Imanewbie is such a fantastic comic.
Tell me about your party ^__^
i remember this was a very popular franchise 20 years ago. I never remembered to give it a chance, downloading the GOG release now. what should I know?
all pallies
YO HEY WTF HELICOPTERS OP
Screenshots plz
I'm not him but that would be pretty awesome, wouldnt it? running around, laying down the law. it's like playing the borg: everyone can do damage, buff and heal
>the bone crushing sounds
this game was the shit, i spent hours playing it every day
>RRRRRRRRRNNNNNNRNNNNNNNNNNNNNRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
spent hours just playing the demo
holy shit
oh god, my childhood.
>just sitting in the computer lab
>passing time
The Doom one doesn't make sense, because it was just about EVERYONE'S first FPS. Unless you got into Wolf. Not babby's first. And even then, it's better than a lot of what followed.
>you will never go back in time and sit on your fathers lap playing wolfenstein 3d on the powermac
Macintosh feels
Long overdue to replay the Descents.
>Macintosh feels
remember when prince of persia DRM was literally solving math problems with the manual
All the Dune games are boomer gems
there are some dos games that require you to look up stuff from the manual
>unlimited ammo, no reload and gauss gun for shit and giggles
>you now remember pic related was the premier mid 90's gaming machine
>you now remember sega channel
>you will never have sleepovers at your buds house who has sega channel again
ah fuck forgot picture.
TEK BOW
shit, games were so much better before all the poz culture... cherish those days because they're never coming back.
my fellow boomers, can you help me find a game that was incredibly fun, but no matter how hard I tried, I could never find the title?
I played the demo, you start with a cutscene on some wizard island. They banish you or something and you find yourself in a large free roam overworld.
It was a top down huge world with cabins and towns and stuff. Lots of little elf guys you could kill brutally, but was extremely difficult. I just remember the world being so big.
Holy based
try
you could run around anywhere and make your own adventure. It was on powermac.
I have posted there before. No responses =(
well, it was worth a shot.
Crimson skies sequel when?
Its not a flight sim
Its a resource management Roguelike, kinda like FTL or something
Air combat is based on deck-building and cards gathered/earned in the overworld. Camera is on the pilots reacting to the fight around them as cards are placed down
Neo-Yea Forums is eternally butthurt and calls it RNG trash
the bullet hell you could spit out in those games was fun as fuck.
My shit
well your post is very unspecific lad
if you're really desperate go look at retro game websites from a range of years. it's work but worth it if you really want it
>3rd boss can just block your magic with his sword
Couldn't get past him as a kid.
>ordos was made up and doesn't exist in the books
Kind of threw me off when I was reading the series.
holy shit i havent seen that for at least 20 years
ENEMY TANGOS RETREATING.
WE HAVE ENEMY CONTACT!
YOU HAVE CONTROL.
Tried getting my old copy to run on my current system, holy shit that was some serious asscancer
my favorite game
I liked the idea of adding sub-factions. They do add a lot of new ways of fighting battles.
Me too. Pity they weren't part of the book series. They already make the Bene Gesserit look like greenhorns in terms of plotting.
was this supposed to be set in that universe? makes sense, but I don't imagine they got the license to use starship troopers
Well yes it was my first FPS
World's second FPS after Wolfenstein 3d
Not first person perspective
how is it not?
I fucking miss it. Online was the tits.
Why's it gotta be stuck in license hell? I want a remaster with updated graphics (and maybe better voice acting)
Never mind, it looked side scroll at first, I'm retarded
it hurts
I want to build a win98 machine but I have no idea what parts to get
wow nigger wow.. 7 years old I was when I played this
I'll be happy when it will finally hit either Steam or GOG...or both.
I played this whole game despite not knowing what the fuck was going on at any point. This and winback were the only two "adult" games I had on n64.
I re-played some of it last week, and I don't like how it's aged. The aliens move too sporadically to track and the hitboxes on their attacks are much bigger than they should be. You end up constantly taking damage with no way to avoid it.
