Why can't the west make likeable protagonists?

And Oscar.

No, every western protagonist is trash except Jade from Beyond Good & Evil

yeah you seem like a cool guy

>Nathan Drake
He's a smug murderer.
>Chief
He barely talks.
I guess mute or near-mute protagonists are alright because they speak in actions and body language rather than words.

Arthur was good.

You're not likeable.

Revan and the Exile are pretty great, but you just wanted a reason to dumb Kat images.

Alice was from a Chinese dev studio though.

They can. Kat isn't a great protagonist by any means. She's actually pretty shallow

Just have to look to classics.

Chinese dev being run by a man called American McGee who designed Alice before forming the now closed Chinese studio.

Did he escape China on his boat?

I know he was wanting to pitch for another sequel, but wasn't sure where he was working out of now.

I don't even know what happened, the game might've not sold to EA's standards so they closed the studio or McGee himself could've closed it to get out of EA's clutches and dab on them after they paid for his games development. I don't know where he is in this world at the moment, he moves around like a schizo.

Didn't China pass some new ban on games showing blood and death? I feel like that'd be a no-go for him to start anew.

>Kat will never get another chance
It's not fair, bros.

She seems like a nice girl. Which already puts her above most female protagonists and many male protagonists

I wouldn't even mind her if her body wasn't so thin.

I love Chara!

Ultimately, most video game characters aren't "deep," and many real people aren't either. A genuinely friendly and cute character isn't any more shallow than a mopey and snarky one, and between the two, I'd rather have the former.
