Why is Square Enix the worst company ever?

Why is Square Enix the worst company ever?

Japanese investors tried turning Squaresoft into EA. When they acquired Enix, everyone thought it would be a JRPG golden age, instead it was on par with the Activision-Blizzard merger.

They're not the absolute worst. But they're trying their best to become the new Konami, screwing their workers and customers at the same time. If Yuji Horii and Edios hadn't been there to make money, they would have died to Final Fantasy bloat and Wada's insane ideas.

Remember when Final Fantasy played like Final Fantasy?

Good premise that falls apart mid game? Lots of bugs and untested gameplay features? Focus on story and graphics over gameplay and design?

Seems like it never changed.

It's literally been over 20 years since the last good Final Fantasy

>mfw square enix becomes konami 2.0

>not knowing konami is square 2.0
sakaguchi was ousted long before kojima

Unlike Konami, their new management is actually fixing things. They're not perfect, but they're 1000x better than Wada was. At the very least, they're making new games that don't have the Final Fantasy name on them and localizing them to the west.

FFXIV has the best FF soundtrack of all time.

>14
>not 7, 8 or 11
fuck off zoomer

>not 5

I unironically agree. FFXIII and XIV do have the best music. I genuinely think FFXIV has the best atmosphere of any FF game. Too bad its an MMO with bad story, characters and flow.

>falls apart mid game
No they don't

Based Square not letting One Winged Angel and other classic be soiled by Stinky Bros Ultimate

The Virgin Castlevania
>tries really hard to impress by having 2 characters in the game but can only manage 1 plus a reskin
>characters are fully voiced in English
>throws as many songs as he can into the game
>a central character from the series is relegated to a trophy
>carried into the game by Chad Metal Gear - he just asked if he could join during Brawl
>forever relegated to Pachinkodom and mobileshit despite how much he tries

The Chad Fantasy VII
>just one character is enough, everybody loves him
>doesn't bother speaking English for lazy gaijin
>just 2 songs ripped straight from his game, has never heard a new arrangement in his life
>doesn't even need assist trophies or spirits
>Sakurai went out of his way to get him from his IP holder instead of letting him tag along
>everybody waits with bated breath for news of the remake of his game

Almost every FF game falls apart in the middle. Drops most of the story that came before because of a random plot twist or character change. It's a staple of the series.

for some reason sephiroth wasn't even a fucking boss

>Capcom is the new Konami!
>Konami is the new Capcom!
>Square Enix is the new Konami!

what could be next?

Dissidia NT is shit so they don't want smash to be any more successful than their fighting game with their character in it.

Reminder that theres retards right here on this board that thinks that Sora has an actual chance of being in. Just think about it for a mere second, not only Sakurai needs to deal with the faggots responsible for lmao2songs and that Cloud uses his render from SSB4 because fuck you. Theres also the jew mouse involved and god knows what kind of deal with the devil they want for a thing like this.
Is it physically possible? Of course it is, but its too much of a fucking hassle and i dont think that Sakurai wants to deal with those cunts again.

EA is the new Activision.
Blizzard is the new EA.
Activision is the new SquareEnix.

Besides everybody knows that Deus Ex would be the GOAT choice for a second SE character

i don't get the se rep rumors at all because why would sakurai want to deal with square again after the hot mess that was cloud? sora would take so many hoops, sephiroth would take so many hoops, erdrick would take so many hoops, etc.

literally the only character with the least amount of hoops is geno and he only gets a spirit, maybe a mii costume. why the fuck would they go that far for any se reps at all? cloud had to be shoehorned in with hardly anything, geno only gets two pngs (incl. mallow) and maybe the mii costume returning, and that's all folks. anyone who thinks we're getting more than that is delusional.

I would say they're trying to run a business, but if they really were they would have compromised for more songs with added Square OST DLC which they totally missed out on

>announce four games
>5 years dead silence
>cancel two of them
>more years of silence
>people forget about one of them
>one of them comes out and it's trash

"Please be Excited!"

The Dragon Quest team released two main games and fourteen spin offs in the time it took Square to make FFXV and one spin off. Think about that. Final Fantasy used to be the series that made dozens of spin offs while DQ spend five years making one game.

Elaborate. I don't even fucking remember any of it other than Final Fantasy Versus XII/ XV.

Here's your Final Fantasy game bro

Attached: logo.png (398x526, 65K)

Nothing specific. Just a general idea of the antics of SE

-Versus got announced as a spin off game to FFXIII
-Versus in development hell
-Type-0 Gets announced and is released
-"Lol nevermind, Versus has nothing to do with XIII or Type-0."
-The other planned games get cancelled
-"FFVersus is now FFXV, but it won't come out for three more years"
-FFXV finally comes out, incomplete game with movies and spin offs planned
-"Nevermind, we're cancelling all those spin offs, here's so incomplete DLC"

Because it has literally always been a dumpster fire even when squaresoft and Enix were separate companies. Seriously SE is a gigantic fucking trainwreck since the inception of its individual components.

This is unironically the best FF game in two decades and in the whole series. And fuck Squenix for not bringing over the Dragon Quest version.

>trying FF12 again since dropping it on the PS2
>actually enjoying myself
>nice art, style and megastructures
>combat and gambit system could've used an overhaul but the gameplay is still there
Now I'm having difficulty starting it up because I know I'm getting closer to the end, how do I cope? What games have high production values but also experimental gameplay systems?

I will never forgive them for the TWEWY countdown.

Ah, that's right. Plus Final Fantasy XIII... and XIII-2... and XIII-3. Fuck me running Squeenix is dumb as shit. I thought there were some other titles... I think there was a FFXIII for PSP, or was that Agito/Type-0? Because I remember Agito XIII turning into Type-0.

Gambit system has some fun little exploits, but yeah, FF12 was basically made by the team that did FF11 and they did what they knew.

In this day and age for experimental gameplay systems... nothing good I think. Although if you're willing to take a risk, the people behind Furi are making a turn based RPG called Haven.

Valkyrie Profile is the only other one that comes to mind if you want old stuff.

Well the first Final Fantasy was literally a hail mary game before they went bankrupt. Who knew they'd wind up becoming so big they'd be fumbling about and making craters when they fall?

because Sony owns the distribution rights to the music

Sony is salt over Playstation Allstars.

>Metal gear - 11 songs
>Persona - 11 songs
?

I disagree. It depends on the game (XII is only example I can think of) but for the most part the character development, themes, and tone remains the consistent. IX did a great job of executing on the themes of existence love, and living through Zidane, Vivi, Garnet, and Kuja's respective arcs and exploration. VI's unorthodox approach with the linear approach of world of Balance and Ruin's structure does a good job of hitting of home the duality of magic and through how it's utilized, while wrapping it up nicely at the end with the final boss being a thematic class of ideals. X's many characters's beliefs are challenged through Tidus's flat arc resulting the self reflection of its characters, as well as Jecht's introduction, and the ending. VII had the confrontation of Cloud and Sephiroth, many arcs wrapping, as well as Cloud's true nature surfacing, and Aerith's death.
