I'll never understand how a woman like that got into such a position. It just blows me away.
I remember growing up almost no girls played vidya or gave a damn about computers. None. And if they ever did they maybe played with their brother or father once in a blue moon. It's very likely she replaced a white man who was more qualified for that position. That white man is probably working some other shit job and probably wants to kill himself. Fuck this clown world. Woman do not belong in the workplace. Most other countries and for most of our history, men were the primary workers.
cursed image
>ethical game design
just fucking make a game that doesn't fuck me up the ass, I pay you for game you give me game I play it
Delete this fucking image
durr dee hurr prrrrfffft drrrfffft brrrrrffffft
If game devs don't unionize you'll start seeing shit like this in the workplace.
Fuck you image is cool it has an Ito vibe I love it
we need unions before fucked up stuff starts happening in the workplace and other OSHA violations like not having water for your staff to drink
... are those guys washing dishes using ROADSIDE WATER
Holy fuck that webm gave me some sky high anxiety.
Fortnite doesn't have lootboxes.
You missed the point of the image faggot
Ye? So tell me then
this is comparable to not giving your employees access to natural light and the option of a standing desk at work
I love it when massive corporations take the high ground because it shows off how phony they are. If you're going to take everything I love and destroy it, look me in the eye.
If EA was headed by a guy who looked and sounded exactly like Norio Wakamoto's M. Bison, maybe they could at least feel genuine. But they're not. They're fakes.
In Save the World it did. Really shitty ones. Some sucker I knew spent $900 dollars. They have now made them “see through” so you know what you get.
>owns a pussy
Doesn't matter what water, its all polluted. Never drink water in shithole countries
to be fair, EA is run by a guy who looks like an evil voodoo priest brought a ken doll to life.
EA's CEO looks like a literal demon
>UX
is this some new retarded designation I should be aware of?
He invented the lootbox. He is a literal demon.
Yeah, but he's not menacing, just creepy. I want a guy who wears capes and gives long speeches
Yes.
imagine you live in this village, knowing that a thousand years of folks have lived, loved, and died to turn it into this cultivated little patch. Nothing fancy, and the work is hard, but everyone adds to this communal effort stretching back centuries. And then you wake up one day and some fucks in suits have decided those fields need to disappear. Your uncle's 400 year old fish pond? Nah, it's an on ramp now. All bulldozed for more endless concrete hell.
Keks me up. Literally Satan.
Just fucking Google it. Since I'm feeling nice, UX is the counterpart to UI, just focusing on making it functional and intuitive instead of making it pretty.
The guy in the suit doesn't decide that, you sell him your uncle's fish pond for a hefty sum and access to services, utilities, and education for your offspring.
If you don't want to sell your uncle's fish pond, they're perfectly happy to build around it.
That's entirely on gabe
It means user experience, and its the designing of how the user uses a product, taking into account layout design, visual design, and what interactions occur, and what steps are able to be automated to provide a better experience to the user(i.e. make the website geolocate you rather than ask for your address). OP is baiting with his article because ethical UX design is not in reference to any socialpolitical happening, but rather to a typ of UX design that focuses on providing empathy in the form of design, with the ultimate goal of the user using the product in a much more efficient and less stressful way. UX Design is become an increasingly lucrative career and is extremely important in any part of the tech field.
Why does everything adopt a minimal style now with no fucking options I hate it.
Fuck off if you don't know what your talking about
Btw when did fifa get lootboxes?
Nyet. Andrew Wilson invented the lootbox for FIFA 09 Ultimate Team while he was middle management in charge of sports games, and the resulting profits catapulted him to CEO.
Even Japan's spearhead for gachashit, Puzzle and Dragon, wouldn't be until a few years later.
You dumbies never heard of a gashapon before? Japs were the ones to come up with the concept
Already addressed:
unless you live in a chink shithole where they build wherever they want and throw you in a reeducation camp if you speak up, which your image is most likely set in.
I think you're confused user, Gashapons are a real thing that vidya lootboxes are based on (and get their name from).
putting effort in features that don't directly correlate to more money is for fags.
Also Maplestory had gacha boxes as early as 2004. EA did a lot of things, but invent lootboxes they did not.

That's literally a Chinese road built around someone's house because they wouldn't sell.
I don't know what to google for to find it, but I know for certain there's another such case where China put up a small city around an old man's shack because he was the only one in the village who wouldn't sell.
many such cases.
I think YOU are confused, user. Lootboxes don't get their name from gatchapon and Wilson based his FIFA lootboxes on collectable sports card foilpacks. Same economic model but unrelated.
That image is a chinese guy who refused to accept pocket change for his house, he even hired guards to protect himself from government thugs, so in the end they built around it.
He ''agreed'' to move the house in 2012
Lootboxes and Collectable card foil packs are quite literally the exact same thing, ESPECIALLY card packs. They all follow the same concept of "Random item chosen from a set with one or two being exceedingly rare to drive sales".
What part of
> Same economic model but unrelated.
was confusing to you?
The entire thing, because they ARE related, they both operate on the exact same basis and exploit the same parts of the brain, the only difference is what they're selling you. And ultimately, it's completely irrelevant to the original point which was "EA invented lootboxes" even though multiple Asian games predate them, and real life examples predate them even further.
I think women are being used as a weapon now to escape criticism.
It is because she is a woman. It's the only reason.
Damn I'd like to loot her box if you sniff my drift!
Just read about ethical game design on gamasutra.
It's more faggot shit that should be disregarded.
lmao he does look like a literal demon, this dude looking like he owns a literal sex dungeon- 50 shades of grey lookin ass nigga
Maybe she feels guilt? If it was my job to scam kids with skinner boxes I'd try to make amends after as well.
Fortnite has lootboxes?

>I have a PhD in Psychology for University of Paris 5 Sorbonne (France). I’m specialized in cognitive development (the subject of my thesis was language-specific effects on number computation in toddlers if you’re really curious) and I’m very interested in how the human brain learns and processes its environment. Our cognitive biases will also never cease to fascinate me …
>I grew up playing a lot of games, including video games; because of this I felt compelled to walk away from academic research and enter the gaming industry. I first joined Vtech, a toy and educational game manufacturer, in 2005. Then, in 2008, I started an exciting quest about how neuroscience can help developers design better video games at Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab think tank (Ubisoft HQ, France). I worked more specifically with the ‘Games for Everyone’ department, on My Coach series for Nintendo DS. I also developed a training session exploring how the brain learns for Ubisoft’s Design Academy.
>In 2010 I joined Ubisoft Montreal and worked in the Playtest Lab department to focus on user research and user experience. I conducted research or participated in design discussions for many cool Ubisoft franchises, such as Rainbow 6, Driver, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Watch Dogs. Later, I worked at LucasArts on Star Wars: 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault (and some iOS games) only to see them cancelled and the studio closed. Sadly.
>In 2013, I joined Epic Games as Director of User Experience to develop UX practices and strategy for the studio. I mostly worked on Fortnite, but also on Unreal Engine 4, Paragon, Battle Breakers, Spyjinx, Robo Recall (VR) and many other exciting projects.
Sounds qualified to me. Most people in positions that deal with monetization practices and engagement have degrees in psychology or math.
well, its coming from a hose. have that as you may. for all i know that water came from a shit hole
you can trace all that garbage to her
>I started an exciting quest about how neuroscience can help developers design better video games at Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab think tank
When has Ubisoft or any other western AAA studio ever made so much as one fucking innovation to
