Honestly? A great battle system. I remember my first hard fight... i had just defeated some bandits and reached a slope. Suddenly some lizards attacked. While i was fighting the damn things a chimera appeared. Our battle was legendary. I trusted my fellow pawns with the lizzards and dealt with the beast myself. The creature was fierce and had tons of HP bars! my priority was to slice the tail but i was too slow, the fucking thing poisoned me a few times and by the time i was able to cut it i had ran out of antidotes. Slowly but surelly my life was depleting until eventually i ran out of potions too. Where my pawns where, i do not know. No time to micro manage. With the last inch of my life i grabbed to the mane and started stabbing the fiend and continued to stab it for a whole day and night (as it seems poison can´t finish you off) until eventually the beast fell. It was satisfactory as fuck.

Usually games don´t allow you to fight awesome battles like that. You roll or whatever to avoid damage and you use elements and stats but can´t actually cut a weak point and shit. In DD you can do all that shit and it really pays off. Between that, the noticeably different jobs (gameplays) and the way the skill system and pawn system works this game is one of the best ARPGs i´ve played gameplay wise. The story is not half bad either considering it´s actually a japanese game trying to pass for a western game. And you have tons of customization options, far more than in games like Dragon Age inquisition for example. The only things that can be bothersome for some is that the world is not that big and there isn´t an excesive number of quests... and maybe if you don´t know how to train your pawn that´s bothersome (but only until you learn).

Switch version has the portability, but it has issues with pop in, and Capcom servers can have downtime I don't remember from PC (but at least they don't demand Switch online subscribtion).

PC version is superior, but one thing Switch has going on is more active rift at least for now.

Because you've played all of those and would probably prefer to experience something new over replaying the same games. Not everything has to be a 10/10, there aren't enough truly great games to go around, we only see one every couple of years.

This literally just happened to me this weekend after months away from the game due to a mediocre first impression. It couldn't be more true.

I honestly can't sell someone on this game. There's nothing individually spectacular about it, in fact most elements are pretty weak. The game starts very poorly and the average mindset of play a game until you see the credits means missing most of the best content, this is one of the few games that is rear-loaded in content and quality.

Honestly, this is a case of the whole is much greater than the sum of the parts. A bunch of fucky systems, a convoluted plot, and all the best content being the end of the game and post game. It just somehow works.

Any of them. If you like the bow aspect of strider, try ranger once you reach the big city. If you like the daggers, maybe assassin or magic archer (magic archer is hella fun though). You can switch around however you feel like until one feels right.

A POWERFUL ENEMY, MASTER!

There's a hack or something that lets you edit the character whenever you want. I'd switch between a midget and a giant pretty often for lulz.

There's also apparently a couple issues with the port. It has minute long server synchs after resting so turn off online after synching, the game has a small chance to crash when shit gets crazy (happened only once in my 50 hr save btw) and I think there's an audio glitch with the music not stopping after a fight. Other than those problems the game is pretty well ported and would recommend.

The framrate is actually pretty good but it does have frame pacing issues so if you're sensitive to that you might notice the jitter ( it bounces back and forth between 30 and 31 fps for some reason?) of course when ever spells come into play it will tank pretty bad, honestly just watch a framerate analysis and judge for yourself.Here ya go. m.youtube.com/watch?v=fzL7h5O9tIQ

A looooooong time in dark, prepare to save often and ealy wandering in zones far above you. Also elemental weaknesses make huge difference in this game. Its my first proper playthrough of it since I got it on switch and Im enjoying shit out of it.

They're separate things, brainlet. Everfall is the hole in Gransys after Grigori and BBI is talking to the woman in Cassardis at night at any time.

If you want to stay physical then try fighter. Compass slash. Blink strike and perfect blocks are all pretty fun and you get good augments for physical characters.

If you like the idea of magik archer then try sorcerer for a bit. Good magik growth and quite fun once you got the higher vocation levels.

I loved the game and nearly beat it until I realized that damage scales with level.
I had no desire to go into NG+ after figuring that out.

You can't "not" start it, it starts automatically after beating Grigori.

Hard mode can be done with NG+ buffs enemy health and stagger values If i remember correctly. You could also use lesser weapons if want or just do BBI, enemies there are way tougher

The Everfall section after Grigori counts as post game, you can just do BBI at any time in the game, but it's best to do it in ng+.

I don't care about multiclassing but this mod to actually make warrior a class equal to the others certainly makes it a lot more fun

I dont know how people play magic archer. You do nowhere near as much damage as a ranger and your cucked spellwise. not that it matters because magic is only good for augmentations and status effects which are better left for a retard pawn to do since they will never deal more damage than you

as much as i love this game and its gameplay the fighting is either too easy you kill shit in seconds or so hard you do no damage at all. if you are a magic user good luck fighting golems who are immune to magic and pawns are too retarded to hit the weak spots.

MA is a beast in BBI. Ricochet Bolt murders everything.

its not easy and unlike other classes you have to really plan out your build. cosmetation and miasma are you go to spells and maybe that torpor one combod with either one. big spells take too long to cast and are only good in specific situations. there is a ring that you are supposed to give to the duke for a quest. instead give the quest giver a forgery because that ring makes you cast faster or some shit.

god I hope, if we do get it, it is given the time and budget it needs

Some multiplayer type stuff where you can have a party of 4 made up of two arisens and their main pawns
better pawn AI with some way of forcing them to not use particular tactics, I don't want my ranger to climb or my fighter to do nothing but grab and hold humanoid enemies

It's not necessary, I didn't put anything more than 50 levels tops into Sorc and I had no issues hitting level cap and beating everything. MA's skills are just incredibly well suited for enclosed areas, and BBI is just one huge underground dungeon for most of it.

I fought my first golem yesterday while playing a Mystic Knight. I guarded with Holy Risposte, and while it did no damage the multi-hit stun-locked it long enough for me to climb on its back and whack one of the crystals back there. That was a neat interaction.

You can self buff which affects the magic cannon skills which you can in turn cast multiple times to further multiply your attacks which you can then have your pawns also attack to multiply THEIR attacks with all off your cumulative buffs.

And if all else fails just use the stinger, it's fuckin broken.

Because its combat shits all over those.

For the love of me i cannot figure out how to set up secondary skills for warrior with this mod. Its nice to have 6 skills active though.

Basically your pawn, since you was so close to her, has sacrificed herself to make you a body to get out of the eternal circle with a loophole.

The dark arisen DLC is about your senpai who was given the same choice but failed to kill to absorb the pawn instead he barricaded himself from the eternal cycle. Since his pawn was literally the only thing anchoring him to life.

I like to cast Ruinous Sigil and then Great Cannon inside of it. Enemies that get past the cannon fire and try to rush me start bouncing around like popcorn.
