The way that RDR2 deals with anti-black racism is a complete cop-out. In reality, 1899 Louisiana was absolutely dominated by racist factions. In the game, racism is treated like an embarrassing vestige of the past. The KKK wasn't actually active then, but groups like the KKK weren't comical buffoons, they were strong and dangerous paramilitary organizations with significant manpower and public support.
