More than likely planned as a multiplat early on but nintendo got involved and made it a switch exclusive, the game doesn't play like it was made for switch, nothing it does leverages the switch's hardware, and visually and performance wise it's pathetic, it's even built on top of Unreal Engine, which is a large part of the reason why it runs and looks worse than other Switch contemporaries, fire emblem three houses not included

that image reggie tweeted out during his retirement that accidentally had an unknown character accidentally seen in artwork drawn by retro devs, almost certainly from a new IP as they weren't recognizeable to anyone. Sure, you couldn't see the full image but it's still clearly not a character anyone knows and is pretty strong evidence they've been working on something else also the fact there was no starfox gp in that image is pretty telling too

Last year was lame. First half of this year is embarrassingly empty until Mario Maker. The rest of the year is as great as it could realistically be without a mainline Mario/Zelda/Metroid.
Astral Chain will be great and Link's Awakening is the best Zelda game and the only Nintendo game other than Mario Land 2 that actually needed a remake or remaster.

That's not a new IP, that's the new character from DKC6, which is set in space, they literally teased it in the last 2 games too, you just weren't watching.

I'm pleased with TSA, so I more or less got what I came for along with XC2. Still waiting on fucking SMT, but I'm really looking forward to Animal Crossing, Astral Chain, and Marvel this year. Shame things have been pretty dry as of late unless you're into Smash, which really isn't my cup of tea.

Hopefully they overhaul the ever loving shit out of DxM. It needs a lot of polish to be anything more than average as the demo stands.

Travis Strikes Again is in the running for my favorite game of the year and Box Boy + Box Girl is pretty great. I'm looking forward to Super Mario Maker 2, Daemon X Machina, and Astral Chain, maybe MUA3 depending on how well it turns out. I'm really looking forward to Bayonetta 3 but I doubt it's coming this year.

The stuff they have been tweeting has been on the Nintendo sub-website and Platinum sub-website since the reveal.
We are already in the longest gap between release and reveal of new actual Zelda game. Aonuma will probably tease it in an E3 interview this year; but, we'll actually see it next year. So, 2021 is pretty reasonable.
