the only kirby game i played is smash bros and also the one for the gameboy color where you could literally tilt the gameboy to move things around, it fucking blew my mind
How can anyone say Super star is better than Ultra? Ultra is a total improvement over the first.
>Rainbow curse that low
1. Kirby's Dream Land 1
2. Kirby Air Ride
3.-28. absolute fucking trash
>ultra below super star
>dream collection that low
>considering the 3d classics version another game
Japs have shit taste.
Nostalgia
No it isn't. It totally re-balances the entire game and removes a lot of the personality of the visuals, namely the expressions and animated environments. It's also not co-op on the same screen.
>Japs have shit taste
In other news, the sky is blue.
I get that Team Kirby Clash Deluxe is grindy because it was Nintendo experimenting with F2P models, but it's still a fun game. No way does it deserve dead last. Happy that Dream Course was that popular though, it deserves it. Fun as hell game.
I prefer Ultra but I've heard arguments. KSSU just reuses the same NiDL sprites that the other GBA and DS mainline games did, and it apparently made the game marginally easier across the board, to the point where True Arena is about on par with the SNES Arena (I haven't compared myself).
>Return to Dreamland and Air Ride over Kirby's Adventure
shit taste
>made the game marginally easier across the board, to the point where True Arena is about on par with the SNES Arena
Can confirm, I've compared. Enemies deal less damage to Kirby and receive more from Kirby in Ultra, and Kirby being slower and floatier makes playing poorly a lot more forgiving.
>2: Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
>Epic Yarn that low
>Robobot lower than RtDL
>Air Ride that high
>Ultra lower than the original
>Dream Land 3 > all the 3DS games
Good taste.
I don't get why people like Amazing Mirror at all. It's like they took the Metroidvania but removed everything that makes it good. The only real highlights are probably the music and art design. Maybe the bosses too.
Exploring a world is fun. It's not supposed to be a "metroidvania" at all, it's just a nonlinear platformer.
>64 that high
Based
>Robobot that low
Fucking retards
No it isn't. The level design is disjointed as fuck and it's one of THOSE games that requires a guide to complete because the level layout was poorly thought out.
Robobot is by far the most overrated Kirby game here. Japan can clearly recognize its strengths and faults reasonably, 11 is a very fair place for it especially considering the placement of Triple Deluxe.
>Worst game from Worst Director
>Good taste
Not at all. It seems you just don't like to explore and play at your own pace. You prefer a more guided and manufactured experience, which is a fair preference I guess, but most people don't share it.
Nah, the most overrated Kirby games are Dreamland 3, Air Ride, and Amazing Mirror.
Star Allies isn't even on the list
If anything those games are underrated, especially recently. The OP list places them all pretty fairly.
That's actually a good thing. Robobot is mediocre and soulless as hell.
Star Allies alone is a better game than Dreamland 3 is.
I want a Kirby's Dream Course sequel god dammit. It would be amazing if they incorporated all the new abilities.
>amazing mirror #2
holy fuck i didn't know the japs were so fucking based
Don't tell me what I do and don't like faggot. I sure as shit don't like Amazing Mirror's confusing map design.
I'm a Kumazaki fanboy but DL3 is a good game, better than DL2, and in no way was Shimomura the worst director that has touched Kirby. Even only talking mainline the weakest was whoever was in charge of the Flagship entries, which were both good but not amazing (AM was ambitious but flawed, Squeak played it way too safe).
Star Allies post-Wave 3 is among my favorite Kirby games. The post-game is fantastic.
>4: Kirby Air Ride
>3: Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
>2: Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Remakes when?
Or in Air Ride's case a sequel I guess
I feel that it is redundant to include the original games and the remakes. I feel that they should've been combined together. I'm also surprised that Block Ball is that high (I like the game) and better than Canvas Curse and Epic Yarn. Also surprised that Squeak Squad is ranked higher than Triple Deluxe and Dream Land. Kind of disagree with Air Ride's placement, I like the game, but I don't think it's one of the best.
Are you kidding? Air Ride has been meme'd as the one of the best Kirby games ever made despite being a trash kart racer with only one decent extra mode.
Japan never got the best games
Avalanche and Dream Course. That was literally the only thing Japan never got that Americans were able to enjoy.
Japan needs more Little Boy and Fat Man. Fuck that place
my Top 8
Ultra
Mass Attack
Canvas Curse
Amazing Mirror
Air Ride
Crystal Shards
Dream Land 2
Block Ball
Kirby Spinoff are generally pretty damn good, actually offer challenges like CC and MA, too bad Rainbow Curse could've used more work
Avalanche was just an attempt at putting more popular characters on a Puyo Puyo skin for Americans, although I don't know if there was another Puyo-type game on a Nintendo system at that time so maybe SFC-owning Japs got fucked on that one.
Dream Course is fucking great though, they really missed out on that if so.
DL2 isn't even that great but it's still better than Dreamland 3. Dreamland 3 has awful abilities, bland level design, lame boss fights, and absolutely retarded completion requirements.
>Durr Hurr let's make you do the jumping mini game a billion times for 100%
DL3 is the only game aside from RtDL (because of hard mode) that I haven't gotten 100% completion for because of this stupid shit. DL3 is the only game in the series I actively dislike. Flagship Kirby is on par with Adventure, maybe slightly lower.
Star Allies has brainless balance, bad level design and really bland atmosphere. Dream Land 3 is way better and has a greater variety of gameplay options thanks to the friends. You don't even need abilities most of the time.
shit I mean't dream course no block ball realizing now
I can tell by your inability to find exploration fun and be left "confused" by a lack of handholding what kind of player you are.
i was going into this expecting to be angry but honestly top 5 is my opinion as well
Every mode is a lot of fun and they all get a lot of mileage thanks to the checkbox system. When did you guys start hating fun Kirby games?
I like exploration when it's done well, ala Super Metroid. Amazing Mirror has shit exploration
I have similar complaints but I wouldn't call them bad. Personally, I like Squeak Squad more than DL2&3 but I appreciate the step forward DL2 was and the top-tier aesthetics in DL3. Flagship is the weakest mainline era only because there was no real standout Top-Tier game like Adventure/Super Star, Crystal Shards, and Robobot/Star Allies Wave 3 were for their respective directors.
what does SNES have that makes it ovee Ultra other than Nostalgia/impact? Ultra is pretty much the same with more
Dreamland 3 has far worse level design, god awful puzzles, shit abilities, and an awful gimmick.
>air ride that high
Base-
>super star above ultra
Is it just nostalgia or am I missing something, doesnt it have more content and better music?
Obviously you're wrong. Amazing Mirror has some really fun exploration and level design. I wouldn't place it in my top 5 personally but you're really being overdramatic.
Dreamland 3 isn't ""shit"", but it's so poorly made compared to every other Kirby Game. Even games like Adventure are better made.
All of that is good and fun though.
As far as I'm aware, Ultra is the far better game. It has better Partner AI, more content, and less jank physics. I don't get how anybody can go back to the original besides nostalgia.
Again, not it doesn't. It's pretty bog standard for Kirby in general and without actual level cohesion and progression it feels like a mess. It's just random rooms stapled to one another.
It has better music and sound quality and it also has better gameplay and visuals. Ultra made everything too easy to enjoy for more skilled players while the original struck a perfect balance, and Ultra cut out a lot of cartooniness from the game's sprites. The new content was also pretty weak in Ultra, none of it was creative like the subgames in the original, though Revenge of the King was good for what it is.
Those mini games alone are trash though. They aren't ""hard"" they aren't ""fun"", they feel lazy. Kumazaki and even Sakurai had the right idea in making puzzles tied to Abilities over stupid shit like "hurr water flower".
DL3 is easily Shimomura's best game the fuck are you saying
It's more like an adventure. You're clearly the type or player that gets frustrated without a clear sense of direction and gets impatient and angry when you don't receive instant gratification, so I can understand why your type would shitpost about it.
Right where it should be.
They're all fun. The only annoying one is the balloon guy but even that's fun with a buddy. Also you only have to jump to the last smiley to get 100%, I did that while drunk so anyone can.
>Squeak Squad that high
Hell yeah
Again, don't tell me what I do or don't like faggot. I want a game with good exploration. Having to look up a fucking guide to figure which door goes where and what room has what because the map is god awful and the levels don't flow is not good level design.
This maybe? I don't know
You have to be five years old if you think shitty memory games are fun. The only fun puzzles in DL3 are the ones that require you to use one animal buddy and power to find another animal buddy and so on.
Then don't make it so obvious you big baby.
>having to look up again
Agaim, speaks volumes for your imatient and easily frustrated, fragile nature.
I enjoyed them all. The game has a great sense of variety in its challenges that go with great levels in lovely worlds. Man I love DL3. 64 and Adventure are better though.
I like Dreamland, Adventure, Triple Deluxe, and Robobot
Bit of a strange selection liking the two oldest games and two newest ones. Oh yeah I guess star allies is newer now
>Air Ride that high
Where were these people when the game came out?
I love Meta Knight!
Probably playing it with their friends. That's what I was doing. Do drones actually think it wasn't one of the best games on the system now?
Okay big brain, show me that play through of you first beating the game to 100% completion without a guide.
A game about exploration should naturally lead you down the right path and give you indications onto where to do or what to do. This is why Super Metroid is better than Metroid 1. Hell even a game like Breath of the Wild does this.
Once again, I like games with GOOD exploration. Amazing Mirror does a very poor job of telling the player what to do, and whatever you want to name call me as it is completely irrelevant.
I guess you're underage then, because I really don't have any idea how you could think shitty memory puzzles are boring as shit and lazy game design.
For Kirby's Dream collection, were they just looking at the bonus stages or the full package?
>even games like Adventure are better made
If you’re talking about the 3D Classics patch sure. But Kirby Adventure murdered the NES and VC is just as bad if not worse with the processing issues
Why are Kirbyfags so defensive? Like damn I was just talking about how Air Ride had an lukewarm reception when it came out yet everybody I know seems to remember it fondly
>3D Classics Adventure counted as its own game and also that low
>Dream Collection that low
>Amazing Mirror that high top 12 don’t get me wrong but #2 is a stretch
the game that had Meta Knight finally be based is best, as it should be. You all should bend over or heil to your new overlord.
Ultra changes the control scheme compared to KSS and you can't change it back. That honestly makes it trash compared to the original.
Honestly that's a pretty decent list
There's some nostalgia mucking things up with Super > Ultra, Kirby's adventure being so high/Nightmare being below it, but it's a far better top X list then you see most of the time
This. Everyone knows Meta Knight is best boy.
We need a Amazing Mirror 2 like right now
>crystal sharts that high
Japan has shit tastes as usual
Surprised that Start allies is not there, considering is the newest game, I do like a lot of the thing they added in with DLC, but for some reason it gave me this NSMB feel that always annoyed me
This list is shit, not a single one of these games is even a good kirby game (not that there even is a good kirby game). Theyre so easy, you just fly over everything and eat the bad guys. Babbies first (AND WORST) platformer. BT dubs, how OLD is this list??? Lmaoo, like ro-bo-bot is #11? Lmaoo okay hunny, I put ultra over superstar anyday
>Robobot below Nightmare in Dream Land
I want to know what happened to the Meta-Knights. They just disappeared suddenly, which sucks massively, they were they best part of Meta Knight’s character. I’d even argue that they WERE Meta Knight’s character
Good to see 64 that high
They are still active, they show up a little in Robobot
A shallow cameo if anything
At least they still exist, that was way more than what Adeleine had until Star allies
>Super Star first
based Japan
yeah, Japan loved it.
I don’t know… People always bring up Meta Knightmare and Battle Royale, but it doesn’t feel right. They feel like accessories not unlike Blade Knight and Sword Knight’s role in the anime. You never really get to see Meta Knight be an organized leader/commander anymore, now he’s just “the lone swordsman”
Fully agree, I not that much of a fan of Meta knight current characterization, I liked his huge fortress/hangar and the way he commanded his own organization, but I doubt HAL will focus on that again
I want to rape Susie
>Meta Knight is my favorite
>does absolutely nothing with him except for retconning his blush and white eyes
>not to mention his cape wings before returning them in SA
B-based Shinya…
>wanting to rape Susie
>Susie
That's a weird way to spell Meta Knight.
Sorry user, but Taranza isn't into that
Ribbon is a cuck
Listen, who said Taranza isn't getting in the rape dungeon too Dude has six hands for christ sake he could work as a prostitute and make Mc Donalds Money
>Ribbon is a cuckquean
I remember some anons hoping HAL would create an alternative for that, but yeah, we ended with that, no that weird, considering Ribbon is hardly there most of the time, I wonder if adding her wasn’t part of the original plan and Ado was on her own
Because it's fun to play. If anything the Kumazaki games have toddler-tier game design.
Wow, really? I always considered Amazing mirror to be one of the worst.
Why?
>at least they still exist
I understand what it was like not existing to HAL t. Zero fan but unlike the Meta-Knights Adeleine doesn’t screw with another character’s development just by being ignored
Don't.
You actually think it's impossible to beat without a guide? You really are a baby.
>KSSU just reuses the same NiDL sprites that the other GBA and DS mainline games did
Untrue, Squeak Squad and SSU use new, higher resolution sprites drawn in the same style as the GBA games,
>it apparently made the game marginally easier across the board, to the point where True Arena is about on par with the SNES Arena (I haven't compared myself)
I'm not going to comment on the game as a whole but as far as arenas go, this is completely false. True Arena is much harder than the SNES Arena.
>Kirby being slower and floatier makes playing poorly a lot more forgiving.
>Kirby (supposedly) having less mobility makes the game easier
Amazing Mirror was one of the first games I ever 100%'d as a kid, you just suck man.
Anyone have a link to a download for the Star Allies OST?
Kirby 64 is really unique. If you think about it it's Ribbon's story more than it is Kirby's.
EAT THE FUCKING FETUS
Yeah but Susie is.
>2 of the top 3 are the most disappointing games in the franchise
>Mass Attack and Rainbow Curse that low
Thank god I only play Kirby in moderation. Extended periods seems to cause brain damage.
>but I doubt HAL will focus on that
Not giving up hope just yet. Kadokawa’s game novelizations show how easily you could include the Meta-Knights in the plots without disturbing anything. It’s not like the Ado where her situation would make it difficult for her to regain a role in the series
Galacta Knight timeline:
RtDL (breaks out of seal)
Robobot (is resealed)
KSSU (breaks out of seal, dies)
Star Allies (comes back from hell, is killed by/fuses with Morpho Knight)
>1: Kirby Super Star
As god fucking intended
Put Robobot's true arena between Robobot and KSSU, he doesn't have a seal in KSSU
I'm playing Star Allies right now and can't really understand why I'm enjoying it. The level design is basic as fuck and it's braindead easy.
you can PLAY as MARX
These are the top 5 best Kirby games:
>Kirby Super Star (SNES/Ultra, your preference but I think Ultra's better)
>Kirby Planet Robobot
>Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
>Kirby 64
>Kirby Air Ride
Robobot is just the best Kumazaki game, but all of them are at least solid, with Star Allies being the worse.
mirror and air ride surprisingly high
with my bias. i would rank kirby's adventure higher but a decent list
1. Kirby Super Star
2. Kirby: Planet Robobot
3. Kirby's Return to Dream Land
4. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
5. Kirby's Adventure
6. Kirby Super Star Ultra
7. Kirby Triple Deluxe
8. Kirby Air Ride
9. Kirby Squeak Squad
10. Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
11. Kirby's Dream Land 2
12. Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
13. Kirby's Dream Land 3
14. Kirby's Dream Land
Haven't played the rest
>3: Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Well hot damn
Telling, isn't it? Maybe 64 isn't nearly as unpopular as Sakurai suggests.
A good user posted one some time ago, here you go
mega.nz
>Robobot not even in the top 10
Two nukes weren't enough.
That game is exactly where it belongs.
>kdl3 made top 10
I'll take it, it's better than I would've expected. Based jippy japs.
It did fairly well, considering how new it is
His JP Robobot pause screen allegedly says he's been sealed over and over without successfully being destroyed (making him functionally immortal), but I don't have the original source.
Wouldn't be surprised if he somehow manages to come back from being eaten by a butterfly.
Will Morpho be the last one? Or they will keep on making power creep Borbs?
>don't tell me what to like and not to like
>proceeds to tell others to not like the game
Holy shit, generally speaking just because you didn't 100% a game doesn't mean it's automatically garbage. What kind of arguments are you trying to create as it seems you're just shitting on it just because people seem to enjoy the game.
I have some hope that Ado can at least sustain a small role from now on. It'd be unfair if they dropped her for another decade.
>fucking Crystal Shards that high
That's pretty based of them.
1. Superstar Ultra
2. Robobot
3. Return to Dreamland
Every other ranking is shit
>Robobot that low
Retarded japs and their shitty nostalgia goggles as always, reminds me of that smt music pool, smt4 got shafted pretty hard
It not only had to have people actually play it, but people who played it and thought it was better than any other Kirby game they played. Considering the game was released on Wii U, it’s not surprising it’s so low on the list, even if it’s still a very good game.
I mean, the Halberd Crew has been showing up a lot more in side media recently
It's just kind of hard to represent that when Meta Knight hasn't had any major role in a game since what, Squeak Squad? I do feel like Meta Knight often gets the biggest shaft out of Kirby's core characters though
Not him, but I hope so too. It would be awesome to see a boss fight against Adeleine that updates her classic battle to the modern standard.
remakes tend to change things here and there
It'd be really cool if there was a game where the Halberd served as a hub like the Lor Starcutter did in RtDL and it let you talk with the crew between levels.
Yeah, no one is asking for her to be a new main character and have a game revolved around her, just a minor role is fine, throwing items, giving tips, showing up in the menus or something like that, I wonder if she will show up in merchandise eventually, at least Gooey and the animal friends are somewhat common now
>mass attack that low
>robobot that low
>amazing mirror that high
>original superstar higher than ultra
cringe
Well Adeleine is a boss character since she first showed up in DL3, so I'd love if they gave her the boss treatment that Whispy/Kracko/Dedede had in the past games. As far as merchandise, she might come up eventually, but it isn't much of my concern. Going off topic, but they really need to up the ante with the Meta Knight battles. It seems like his doppelgangers are the ones that gets the challenging treatment instead of him. Even Squeak Squad did his battle right with him being really quick on the offense while also playing his defense just as well.
The thing with having an Adeleine boss fight is that she HAS to be possessed to be a boss. Whispy/Kracko/Dedede/Meta Knight are the type to challenge Kirby if he gets in their way or just because they feel like it, but Adeleine is very passive and wouldn't try to get in Kirby's way.
If they don't go with the possession route, they should give her back her job from 64 and let Bandana Dee do something else.
That’s a good point, I don’t think Adeleine would want to hurt her friends under normal circumstances, not sure how she would handle a friendly fight? After they boys would like to train and she can provide a challenge
>Dream Course in the top half
Based
SFC got Puyo Puyo proper. Tsu too.
Well yeah, Adeleine's fights against Kirby always had an outside force influencing her. Just saying that an upgrade from those fights would be better to see. Her giving tips would also be okay to see, but almost any character can do that role. Maybe even a new character would be made to fit that role before turning against us.
I'm actually more offended that Team Kirby Clash Deluxe was at the bottom, that game was mad fun.
>mad fun
Until you want to 100% it and mobile gaming syndrome kicks in
To be fair, you don't even need to spend that much on apples and it has a cap on how much you can buy.
Clash Deluxe is pretty fun to play with friends, but holy shit when playing alone those achievements are honestly challenging at times unless you start with Mage or if the ai partners finally begins to work with you. Telepathos, and Parallel Landia in particular are a nightmare to complete all challenges.
user
it takes literal years if you don't buy apples, and buying them doesn't make it that much quicker. Imagine doing 3 Dark Mind fights a day every day for about a year, with the fight becoming easier and easier each time, but not any quicker.
That is what hell feels like.
Parallel Landia is the only one I had any trouble with, but I got him in a few weeks or so in my daily attempts.
Makes me remember the guy who spent a whole year trying to beat Pokemon Picross because it would take forever to unlock the next stages without paying.
Haven’t posted about it on Yea Forums before but I’ve slowly progressed in pokemon picross over a course of years. Dont play it every single day but I’ve been whittling away slowly and surely.
Haven’t spent a cent. Opened the final world earlier today.
Pokemon Picross was way more tolerable than Team Clash Deluxe because at least you do different shit every day in it and the exercises keep your skills up.
Parallel Susie is a cutie
Why would Nightmare in Dream Land be near the original?
>Yeah, no one is asking for her to be a new main character
If anything she already was the new main character back in DL3 and K64. It would be sweet if that role was restored and explored.
I'd love to see a hybrid version with the NES designs upgraded to look good on GBA. The cacti and palm trees would be easy enough to re-add if you can make them look right.
This actually, forgot to mention about that in my reply.
I'm glad to see Kirby's Dream Course getting some love.
IMO it's the best Kirby spinoff game that isn't Air Ride. Super fun to play with a friend.
>all the butthurt Kumazakidrones in this thread
Acro is best girl
