I herniated 2 discs in my lower back and now I will never not experience extreme pain anytime I sit down, so long PC gaming sessions are now dead.

Thanks America

Get a standing desk a lean stool. Sitting's bad for you anyway.

Better now than it used to be.

How'd it happen? This country is a hellpit though desu.

I strength train so it really helps being able to be postures properly not only when gaming but throughout the day

literally me except my feet are propped on the total gym I never use

Mine are propped up on a unfolding-table I use to eat off of. So I don't eat off my computer desk.

Physio is worth the money if you don't have time to figure out the body mechanics yourself. I was doing strength training stupidly for a long time, without enough light work, stretching, and recovery. Combine that with a lot of sitting and it's bad news.

I've always wanted to create a pseudo medieval torture device to fix posture.

Something like the heretics fork but modified to only hurt you if you tilt your head out of the proper angle. Now add some similar pain inducing mechanism for the shoulders, the entire torso and ass such that if you get out of proper posture you get stabbed/shocked. I'm more than positive this will set your asses straight in no time.

The optimal one.

The right has predator vibes. I would trust the left infinitely more.

I have shit posture and started lifting a month ago. Is this going to fix it or am I on my way to snap city?

Just to help you a bit more. Some of the stretches should be pushed as far as discomfort or pain then back off, you really wanna make sure you pull on those muscles as hard as you can without damaging them. Also consistency is key. You can miss a day here or there, but I'd try to avoid more than two in a row. It takes legit up to 12 months to fix really bad posture, the more days you skip and undo progress, the longer over it will be. It took me about 8 months of doing them till i wa neutral again. Good luck dude, hope it works out.

I've been sitting in a bad posture for so long, whenever i try to sit up in a straight posture my back starts hurting after a few minutes.

pretty poor unfortunately. it's a little too late to completely fix it.

thanks brother, god bless ye

Depends on how you lift. If you have APT already as an example, you'll just reinforce it. Same with hip rotar twist. Your body will naturally just use your existing posture to lift and train the vast majority of the time making said bad posture worse.

Keep doing it for longer and longer you will adjust, and do stretches

I asked to the boss gym that the reason i went there was because i had pain in my back. He said he was going to help me but also with doing general exercise. Weeks passed through and this faggot barely helped me with doing back exercises and telling me which stretching exercises i should have done.
>why the fuck you didn't say anything to him??
I was very nervous since it was my first time going to the gym, also i become a little too anxious when talking to people.

Y-Yes, but this shit keeps going back, user.

This gave me a good lel

>I was very nervous since it was my first time going to the gym, also i become a little too anxious when talking to people.
understandable

if we're supposed to sit up straight then why did we evolve to find slouching more comfortable

I had an x-ray on my back and the doctor said my back muscles showed signs of deterioration.
I have no idea what that means.
If I sit in my computer chair for long periods of time my back feels fine afterwards but if I walk on concrete for even short periods of time my back hurts like a bitch for the rest of the day and even keeps me from falling asleep.
Life is suffering

Guys I have knots in my back, will stretching be enough to get rid of this pain?, If so how long it'll take me to get rid of this shit approximately?

That's none of your fucking business

Attached: 1598198534954.png (241x293, 129K)

gravity is a cunt
don't let it rule you

Man was meant to fly actually, if you look at the evolutionary chart, the missing link was airborne.

Depends on what's causing the knots. Stretching should help within a month if you can find a guide that's accurate to your issues. If it's posture related it can take months, all depends on if you're reinforcing it while you're trying to correct it.

You sound like a "GRRRR PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY" Tshirt kinda guy.

my right knee makes an enormously loud boom sound whenever i straighten my leg
is this caused by years of the bad posture?

its islam

terrible, I'm too lazy to invest/search for a better chair and desk to accomodate leg room without squashing things.
>also have TMJ issue from my braces years later to the point I've fainted twice over two years
I still think the awkward side-sitting might have put strain on it.

>also have TMJ issue

how do you get a good posture when you're born with a scoliosis and a thoracic malformation?

Mine's the opposite of pic related

Attached: aaa.jpg (341x512, 20K)

I won't know myself hopefully until August late where I have an appointment.

Basically I presume that the strain on the jaw joint has reached a point now where its capable of doing that to me.
Essentially if I'm tilting my neck shaving, or talk a lot more than usual in one sitting or something, I can feel some shit like a nerve in my neck tighten, and at times it feels like it "snaps" within my throat, almost like someone is flicking a finger from the inside against it. That has a range of severity, either it passes instantly, is uncomfortable for a couple moments, winds me and stops me speaking for a moment/cough a little, or my airways cuck me for about a minute and I black out, twice so far.

shit is weird

that's fucked up man
hope all goes well for ya

can someone tell me why whenever I first wake up and open my mouth to eat something I get this really unpleasant feeling radiating around where my jaw connects to my head?
it's not even explicitly pain, it's really hard to describe but it doesn't feel good

You're biting down in your sleep, theres a protective brace for that

Go GSLP and eat
Boom
No more backpain

what's GSLP?

>reinforcing it while you're trying to correct it.
You mean, making effort to correct it?

If you were a woman I would recommend turning your toes inward a bit more, but that would come at the expense of making your hips more fem and giving you thigh gap and a fat ass which I doubt you would think is an improvement.

I want you to google it since you will get better info on gorm, rest intervals, what to do etc. It's Greyskull Linear Progression. If you are serious and dedicate yourself, you can bench 80-100kg in a year from now.

>If you were a woman
if only

Attached: mash.jpg (570x630, 187K)

Bad, I now do posture stretches/exercises every day though.

Worryingly though I've recently started to get strange pain in my leg. It's like I suddenly get stung by a wasp but a second after I jerk my leg from the shock, the pain very quickly subsides and there is nothing unusual on the skin. Happens once or twice per day.

Let's say a bad posture from sitting poorly is causing your knots. Doing stretches will help you, but if you're still sitting poorly with a bad posture you're still reinforcing that bad posture. A good 30-50% of any corrective excersise is learning what caused it in the first place and trying to mitigate that as much as possible.

Remember to exercise your eyes too.

Attached: eye exercises.jpg (313x500, 32K)

I can't even do that. My shoulders can't touch the wall

So would be possible to get rid of these knots by stretching and sitting with a good posture?, will that be enough, user?

If a bad posture is causing them, yes. I'd recommend searching around a bit and seeing if you can find a few cases with your symptoms, and seeing if it has a specific name. If all signs point to bad posture YouTube some simple stretches and away you go. If not, you'd need a GP appointment. For all you know it could be a simple inflammatory that's healed in a week with some medicine.

>He can't tell the difference between an overview and underdeveloped jaws

>tfw too fat and scared to lean back on chairs back rest because the lock disengages if it’s too heavy

Bad posture it is

The bad posture is definitely what it is causing them. Thank you so much about this, user.

Reminder that "ergonomics" is bullshit. There is no scientific evidence whatsoever to support the idea standing/sitting with a straight back is "correct" and plenty to suggest forcing yourself to do so will cause long term issues. This is all just bullshit invented by quacks trying to make a buck selling funky furniture and office design consultancy. Slouch in your chair. It won't give you a funky posture, you just already have one. And don't worry about it making you look ugly, nobody has ever said "Leonardo DiCaprio would be so hot except he has poor posture."

I recommend using machines if you're worried. At least to start out with, so that you can build up strength and flexibility before using free weights

GOLEM GET YE GONE

Are there any good devices that allow you to switch your desk between sitting and standing? I'd like to start standing when playing but not all the time

You see the old people who are hunched over at a 90 degree angle?

Thats what decades of bad posture does to you

I actually started trying this consistently for a week until it became habit to shut my jaw and keep the tongue pushing the roof of the mouth, and I can honestly say I've never been able to breathe better. My sinuses are opened, and I've actually fixed my swallowing habits. It's fucking amazing how a simple fix in the face can do it.

You need to do back exercises

You're not supposed to sit up straight. You're supposed to walk up straight, but the side effect of walking upright is maintaining that posture in everything you do. So if you slouch all the time, you're just not walking enough.

No, that's what osteoporosis does to you.

Med student here

We are worthless at helping out with these kind of problems, because even if we are drilled and excpected to learn every single part of the human anatomy, the only use we have for it later on is to put diagnosis on neurological diseases or as basis for surgery. Unless you have a neurological disease/dysfuction or a problem so severe that it would require surgery, doctors are useless. Physical theraphists are usually hacks, finding one that actually know how to fix postural imbalances is suprisingly hard. My suggestion is to watch som videos on youtube (the one linked above was great, simple but effective over long term), and start to work out very carefully, don't go heavy on the weighs but instead focus to perform every single rep with best possible posture.

Good luck user

Its lame when you post about your permanent injuries but you dont include the story where you were pumped, had coffein preworkout and trying to push your limit by lifting double of your weight in deadlift.

Why do you always make it sounds like it wasnt your fault? Have you not seen enough snap videos on /fit? Did you think they are just memes? Posted for laught? Not as a warning?

Attached: spinal cord causes-resized-600.png (524x358, 87K)

I move around as often as I can, and will stand so I'm not sitting on my butt for too long. Working at being more mindful to sit proper. I have enough problems as is, typically with my scalenes and TMJ from bruxism.

I see, thank you med-user for that redpill, i'm going to check that video.

This seems as good a place to ask as any. Would sitting on one of these force me to keep my posture straight while gaming?

Alternatively, would sitting seiza or half-lotus on the floor help?

Why shouldn't your feet touch the wall too? This doesn't make any sense.

the answer is: because then you'd lose balance and fall on your face

I've done it before though. I'm actually not fat at all. Opposite of fat. More like a skeletal.

I hear yoga helps. They really stretch out the back. Also, for lower back, I recommend before getting out of bed, you twist and turn using your legs as the turning base.

I can't have my right arm using the mouse or keyboard for an extended amount of time or it starts to hurt. The left arm has no such problem.
Sometimes if I deviate too long in posture one of my shoulders (mostly the right) will hurt.
Other than that I make sure to sleep, walk, and exercise properly to fix my posture. It's been a little less than a year since I've taken measures to fixing my posture but it's definitely been a lot better for me.
