Don't even tell me about it. My PSP is so dusty I had to buy cleaning products for it. But like showcased, it's still the definitive portable emulation device. Even the New 3DS can't run SNES as well as the PSP.

Sadly, homebrew on the PS Vita is weak, the emulators are just the PSP ones, there's nothing new being worked on. I'd love to see a Daedalus working well on the Vita.

Only plays SM64 and Kirby 64 at full speed. Majora and Ocarina plays well but no sound.

Loved hacking that thing. Was my first attempt at messing with hardware. My first battery inflated, so I had to heeey a new one. While looking up the best replacement for the price online, I stumbled upon the early hacking community. Was a lot of fun going through the growth of the community until it was perfected. Played so much patapon and lumines on that thing.

Holy shit I loved the weird ports PSP got.

Fascinates me to this day. Shrinking down GTA. God of War with GOAT graphics. It’s still impressive as fuck, it’s a shame games of this magnitude aren’t put on handheld anymore

I bought an used pearl white PSP 3000 for $40 from a druggie these days, it even came with a 64gb card, the guy was desperate for money lmao, fucking addicts. The PSP is still in pristine condition, with the analog still stiff as if it was never used before.

SNES emulation on psp sucks!

Really, nowadays there's no excuse to not own both. I got 2 DS's with R4 for next to nothing and can enjoy playing shit like DQIX and Bomberman with friends. PSP had no such thing as download play, and the AdHoc multiplayer games were lacking (still spent a lot of time playing Medal of Honor online though).

P3P is the definitive version of Persona 3. FESfags are the worse. I've never played a turn-based RPG where you don't have direct control over your party members. When there's a 4x4 fight (four characters vs. four shadows), you have control for one turn, before having to wait 7 other NPCs to move so you can play again. Really ruined the game for me.

PSP is incredibly easy to crack, has a great library of games, a native PS1 emulator and can run a lot of homebrew emulators too. However, it can be hard to find one that is in good shape. I bought mine recently, I had to replace the shell because it was really scratched, while still being the best one that I found.

The 3DS (sorry for reddit spacing, but it's easier to read) is a little more expensive, and slightly harder to crack. The guide (3ds.guide) is brainlet proof, assuming that you read and follow every single step. It can run 3DS games that are installed on the SD card (not drag and drop like the PSP), as well as DS games using the Twilight Menu. You can also buy a flashcard to run DS games if you want, but Twilight Menu is better at this point. The 3DS can also emulate GBA natively, and you can run NES/MDrive/Genesis games and even SNES games (N3DS only).

Catalogue really depends on personal taste and DS can edge out a victory but in no is the the DS better to hold unless you have small hands
