I don't know how anyone calls this a better game than Ocarina. I have never been so disappointed with a Zelda game in my life. I was Oblivion the other day and it dawned on me how similar BotW is. It's literally the same fucking game, it isn't even Zelda anymore. You wander around a giant open world picking up mushrooms every 10 feet, fighting through copy paste enemy encampments, searching for copy paste shrines that may as well be ayleid ruins with a few brain dead puzzles mixed in. Nothing feels special or unique anymore, you don't get any cool gear or weapons, everything is just expendable trash that breaks after 10 hits and all of your equipment has been relegated to smart phone apps that give you a whopping 4 abilities. The story sucks, what little there is, and the voice acting is atrocious. I should have just waited for Twilight Princess HD to come to Switch so I could play an actual Zelda game.

People keep modding the cel-shading out, I wanna see what it looks like fully cel-shaded. Currently, only character models and clothes are cel-shaded. Environment isn't. Also a lot of the game's post-processing kills the look of cel-shading.

But for two games with shitty gameplay, the one with the nicer visuals is usually better because it has at least one redeeming quality which is eye candy.

The breakable weapon bullshit, lack of rupees, and rarity of arrows makes this game so fucking frustrating to play. There's nothing to do, but you can't relax in the huge world they've created because there's enemies everywhere. You have to wait 30 fucking seconds after the You Died screen to reload into an empty field where there's more of the same enemies around. You can't enjoy clearing the camps because the weapons are limited and you feel like you have to hoard the good shit. Hunting is joyless because there's no fucking arrows around.
Then the story itself is bare because almost all of your peers are dead before the game starts and you probably don't even get to interact with the one left alive because the game probably fucking ends when you save her.

Nah, I actually got to the Gerudo Desert. Did the Divine beast there (was my 3rd out of 4), then just stopped playing when I came to the realization that these 15 minute snooze fests replaced actual dungeons in this shitty game.

Also got bored of the shitty shrines, the only one that made me use 0.5% of my brain was that constellation one. The rest were literally designed for children. The survival aspect also gets boring once you have more overpowered weapons than you need and that too me was the only fun part about the game. The first 5 or so hours were good because I actually felt like I was on an adventure. But when you realise that:

Of course it is, Zelda has been around since 1984 but RDR has only been around (well relevant., Revolver has nothing to do with Rockstars games) for literally 2 generations spanning 2 games total.

Doesn't change the fact that game for game, RDR2 has outsold every single Zelda game there is. If you wanna talk total Zelda sales, well GTA V alone has more sales (100+ million) than the entire Zelda franchise combined (90~ million).

RDR2 started off as a side project for Rockstar and it still is to supplement GTA like Bully. And it ended up being a colossal success way bigger than any individual Nintendo game in general, it even sold faster than the recent POkemons.

As someone who has played both BotW and RDR2, I will attempt to give an unbiased comparison of the two, even though it is impossible to be unbiased.

BoTW:

>Exploration is better, one of the best games for exploring imo
>Combat is dog-shit (on both regular and master mode)
>Graphics are dog-shit but at least have a nice artstyle
>Character interactions and story is dogshit
>Crafting is pretty good
>Horse handling is dogshit, even when you max your horse's affection

RDR2:
