Wasn't Jack Black's entire "gaming" channel a mockery of what Youtube has become? He started the thing, obtained a number of subscribers most people would deem successful for a professional Youtuber, and then fucked around without really taking it seriously.
He hasn't done any of the normal clickbait thumbnails, he hasn't done videos on Fortnite or any of Youtube's other current material, and he hasn't uploaded three videos per week. Yet he still gets a minimum of 1 million views per video, and if he were monetized that's probably worth more than $1k per stupid upload in ad farming.
I think Jack Black is 100% in touch with the site's culture. The guy's getting tons of hits from low effort content he puts perhaps a day of thought into, and that's what it means to be a "top" Youtuber. If he were posting more often, playing something relevant, and had somebody editing his surprised face on every thumbnail, he'd be peak talent for that site.

Will Smith is probably the only high profile celebrity using the site, and even then he's kind of using it as a documentary of his retirement, it feels like. Youtube did hire him to do the Rewind, but no amount of acting could prevent that from feeling utterly fake.
