I have no sympathy for Olgierd but O'Dimm was just too dangerous.

As far as we've seen, Olgierd hasn't actually done anything particularly bad. He fucks over people in deals like and evil genie and curses people if they fail basic hospitality tests (that woman in Blood and Wine). He kills the people who try to look into his true nature, but that's also a dangerous choice that's knowingly undertaken. He doesn't try to fuck Geralt over at all.

He does kill that one guy in the Tavern though. He probably didn't have it coming.

Roche, for some reason, suffered amnesia regarding these events and he acts as if you were his best bro during these events, when he was sperging against you in 2 if you picked Iorveth.

Originally, you were meant to have Iorveth, Roche and Letho (if you spared him) combined in 3.
Point is, Iorveth and Roche were 100% guaranteed to be together during the events of Kaer Morhen if you picked Iorveth in 2. Don't know if Iorveth would be present if you went with Roche, but I know Roche would be present if you picked Iorveth in 2.

Not sure how well that would have worked with a big open world like 3's because enemies basically have to be directly next to you for the combat to work so if they are spread out across bigger distances it's just frustrating

Iorveth was a mistake since day 1. CDPR cornered themselves moment they replaced name Isengrim with Iorveth in 2.
Moment they did that, they completely ruined any opportunity for real Isengirm to ever appear in the game due to conflicts it would have with his OC fanfiction version, Iorveth.
Which is why both Isengrim and Iorveth just get shitty mention in 3, that is easy to miss.
