I played everyday since beta day one up until season 9. They went from a casual TF2 type gameplay into a CSGO type gameplay which killed it. By that I mean they focused so much on every hero being equal and just as viable with little regard to what made the game fun. I miss feeling like (almost) every character was OP and had such unique play styles. Blizzard just wanted to be the fun police and that always confused me.

Tried some alternatives for a splint but they all were disappointing. I don't play a lot of games but early overwatch really got me addicted, such a shame.

When OW first came out most characters took skill and there was no such thing as a "Hard Counter". Sure macree was a good pick against tracer, however it came down to flash bang, miss it and tracer can win the matchup.

Now take one of the new heroes brig. Brig has a stun similar to flashbang, if she misses it she has a knockback if she misses that she has a shield and aoe healing, the best spot heal in the game and just like macree she can instakill tracer if she lands stun.

We go from counters but outplay potential to JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP SENPAI counters that if the other team has it you have to switch.

Now what this means is picks are more important than ever... in a game mostly play by and with randoms that just pick characters based on what they feel like. Meaning a good portion of games are instantly fucked and lost bc the other team picked a comp that you didnt match or counter.

Its just not fun as it used to be back in S1/2

Baptiste is the most broken fucker in the game with immortality field being the most anti-fun thing ever, even worse than bio grenade, he burst AOE heal while also doing great ranged damage, and his ult is essentially a deal button to any choke or camped position. And because of his high damage and healing, he gets ult every 40 fucking seconds.
And as much as I like Sombra as a Spy-like character, she completely warps the battlefield taking health packs with little cooldown drawback, her debuffs and deploy are insane, and her damage is even more crazy at close-mid.
Then you have fucking Ash who is literally an upgraded Mccree with no drawbacks, better mobility, better long range accuracy, less falloff, MORE ammo, and one of the best ults in the game (while high noon is literally the worse)
Then there is Hammond, who is a fucking feed machine to the enemy team, doesn't actually block or get pick reliably, and whos only gimmick is hitting people off shit on certain stages, contesting, and waiting for mine field to actually be useful.

If you have to ask, it probably isn't.

TF2 has community content and OW doesn't. It has so many more gamemodes, possible loadouts, and creative community servers. You can literally always find something new and crazy to do. For all of the faggotry in TF2, there is amazing stuff in the community, which Valve understood when they embraced that. In OW you have to play by Blizzard's rules at all times in the game they designed. They see it as a competitive game first and foremost, so it's up to them to decide how you can play, and the gamemodes and team comp are by nature inflexible. For that reason it gets boring much faster.

It's a game that is neither fun nor creative in the slightest at this point. The game's a dead-end as an E-Sport. The matchmaking is garbage, everyone is more toxic than any other game out there at every level of play, and there always has been and always will be a set "meta" of 8-10 characters that are always used with the rest almost never being used, causing predictability and lowering expectations. Overwatch League is a meme and Blizzard's retarded for investing so much money into it because it's already dying. Shroud gets more average viewers than Overwatch League streams for fucks sake, and that's one singular streamer that often doesn't play a competitive game.

This isn't going to sound like it makes any sense, but the problem I have with Overwatch is that it rewards you for being a bad player. Try to imagine the worst play of playing another multiplayer game and you'll find that it is the winning strategy in Overwatch.

In other games that may have beefy tanks or easy-to-play supports, you'd be falling into a noob trap if you relied on them too heavily because you'd get blown the fuck out by high damage characters who would nuke you to kingdom come and you'd particularly get blown the fuck out if you lumped up your team and relied on bitch shield/healing strategies too hard.

But that isn't the case with Overwatch! I find it disgusting that that is the case.
