Not Zelda/10

as a long time zelda fan I give it a solid 8

you don't care you just wanted to post ass

Attached: 1557163937746.jpg (700x913, 109K)

ps I'd give dat zelda a solid 8 too lmao

6, with the DLC its a 7

7/10
shallow combat, terrible weapon durability, and korok seeds really drag the game down

I rate it "I want to destroy her anus/10"

Realtalk, between 7 or 8/10, I liked it, but it also felt very lacking for a zelda game.

I’d give Zelda 8 solid children too haha.

Why won't Link just fuck her?

One step forward, one step back/10

I just want real dungeons next time.

Unironic 10/10, most fun I've had with a game in ages. Girlfriend and I put in almost 200 hundred hours playing together.

This is my biggest problem. I didnt like the weapon durability since it took the special feeling of finding the master sword away, but I could get over that I guess. I just want more proper dungeons.

Holy fuck chill out you baby

You're squealing like a pig while I'm crushing you with my butt!

Out of Zelda games maybe an 8
Out of games in general a 7

The dungeons made me very sad, they were short, devoid of content, easy.

For everything we gained in BotW, we paid for in features that made Zelda good. It's a fun enough game, but it can improve.

7/10

The idea is a 10 but the execution's a 5 outside of its physics engine. Too much wandering for the sake of wandering and not enough finding actually interesting things for your trouble as sacred beasts, shrines, and/or korok seeds all fail to scratch that itch with consistency. Also, cooking is incredibly broken and swordplay's a step down from the likes of TP and SS. I do like what it's trying to get at and there's moments where it all comes together but overall it just feels half-baked once the wanderlust subsides.

7/7.2 with dlc for me

Without DLC, 7.5/10
With DLC, 9/10

Attached: melons.jpg (1200x1200, 463K)

I went into BotW with almost no knowledge, when i found out the other dungeons were replaced with one off rooms peppered around the map I was pretty confused. It does so much right which made it worse. I saw the frame work for something incredible, it was just a near miss.

Proper dungeons could've provided a nice change of pace from the open world setting. Sometimes I want to stop wandering and just dive into a nice dungeon. Shrines did nothing to scratch that itch.

Yeah, when I started the game, I thought it was gonna be 100 dungeons, and i was ecstatic, but it turned out to be 100 one-room puzzles, or sometimes not even a puzzle. And then it turned out the 4 big dungeons were just... not nearly as big as I expected. I still very much enjoyed playing, but it was not without its disappointments.

I didnt think about it like this. The proper dungeons would have felt even more special if accentuated by the open world. Coming into an area and seeing a massive dungeon that takes an hour or more to get through would have been nice.

Unironically the most fun I ever had was playing Super Gut Check Challenge and Paraglider course over and over. Just did the Paraglider after revisited ng the game and just went on improvement spree for the score from 54 to 58, 60, 62, 63, 66, 67, and now all 70. Feel like a fucking genius right now.
7/10 game really

She wouldn't actually eat a frog right

If we assume you actually explore the world casually, do the 4 beasts etc. before beating it, I would say it's a 7 or 8. But once you've done that, it's a 6 at best.
It's not that fun to replay and DLC took way too fucking long to come out and while it's not awful, it doesn't fix the issues the main game has in being so... bland and empty once you've realized where everything is. OoT overworld has a similar issue but it saves it by actually having big dungeons all over the world to do, not single room shrines with mundane puzzles and a billion koroks that are just obnoxious after the first hundred.

rape/10

this

As a Zelda game, it's a big fat 0/10.

God I hate vorefags

>frog has a belt and tablet implying link was turned into a frog
But how and why?

all 3D zelda has trash for gameplay

>Too much wandering for the sake of wandering and not enough finding actually interesting things

Here's a list of everything you can do in Hebra, one of the emptiest and smallest regions in the entire game:

>an environmental puzzle/riddle on Talonto peak that requires you to view a bird-shaped terrain formation from a certain angle to take the appropriate path to reach the shrine
>a stable with its own Stalhorse sidequest
>two environmental puzzles that require you to roll snowballs down the correct path to open a large door
>Pondo's lodge and associated snowball-rolling minigame
>Selmie's house and associated shield-surfing minigame
>leviathan skeleton needed for a larger sidequest
>the North Lomei Labyrinth
>an environmental puzzle that requires you to find a way to safely navigate to an underwater cave without freezing (the intended solution seems to be riding a log, but you can cheese your way through with enough health)
>a large wall of ice that requires heat items to melt to successfully reach the shrine
>a Lynel challenge in the north

And that's just in addition to the 10+ other shrines that don't require any puzzles or items to reach but might still be hidden nonetheless. I didn't even mention Koroks. Again, this is one of the EMPTIEST regions on the map.

The game is filled with content variety. Just because it doesn't satisfy your autism doesn't mean it doesn't count.

Did you even play the original Zelda?

8.8

It is a great game and I love it but the lack of enemy variety really hurts it.

botw is absolutely nothing like it. stop regurgitating this meme

idiot

Literally no arguments

9/10 for the first couple hours, 6/10 when you realize how pointless almost everything in the game is and start getting frustrated with durability

6/10

sorry, you must collect 96 deku nuts before replying to me again

How does anyone have issues with durability? If anything I feel like weapons last too long, because I'm constantly hitting the weapon limit, even with maxed out inventory.

Next game needs to pull back on how broken paragliding and climbing are within the context of traversal, more thought out lore/worldbuilding with less nostalgia callbacks, and better dungeon equivalent. Add in 60fps and the result would probably be the GOAT

>Art Style
>OOT> MM > TP > WW> BOTW>SS
Jesus fucking christ, user. At least TRY to be objective.

it's pretty fun up until you realize you've seen every enemy like an hour or two in and that all dungeons are more or less the same. The game itself is tedious and I'm glad I returned it as soon as I found out.

BRAP/10
I’m single/10

I like shrines, but I would have loved having maybe 50 of them total and like 15-20 proper dungeons. Same amount of content, but chain some of the shrines into continuous areas with unique aesthetics to make a dungeon.

The only thing the original Zelda in particular shares with BotW is a lack of guidance. The actual structure of the game and where it puts its priorities are much closer in sensibility to ALttP or OoT than BotW.

I'm not someone that thinks BotW is disqualified from being a "real Zelda" because of this or anything, but BotW is definitely distinct from all the games before it.

how'd you get a nice butt like that bros??

Its not my fault 90's style was kino.

TP's edgy style is cool but could use less shades of browns. Don't even try to tell me Skyward Sword's diarrhea watercolor looked good.

>he didn't find every old man cave

Agreed. Maybe make the glider a depletable item like a weapon, and make stamina deplete at different rates depending on the angle and material you are climbing on. I love the freedom it offers you but I've done a minimal climbing/gliding run, and one thing that jumped out at me was how much thought really was out into world design that I couldn't be arsed to appreciate the first time around because I just ran in straight lines towards my destination without even trying to follow a logical path just because I could

6.5 I guess

id give it at least a 7.5. combat is fairly shallow if you dont use some of the more creative and usually more effort than their worth ways of dealing with enemies, weapon durability should be doubled or tripled, but i think the korok seeds were good. small puzzles outside of dungeons you can do whenever, and almost totally optional; you only need to do so many to get a decent inventory size

i don't know, but that's hot

I'm hoping they reuse the engine so that dev time can be spent making numerous large dungeons. i think developing a new engine or not improving the sequel in such a way would be a waste

Starts as a ten and gets lower and lower with time until you stop playing it not because you're fulfilled but because you're bored.

10/10

Somewhere in the 7.5 to 8 range. I really enjoyed it as a standalone game but I have a hell of a lot to compare it to just in other Zelda titles. The flaws stack up the more I think on it but I was happy with the good parts. It is a game I'm generally happy with so if 7-8 seems low for a game I'd put 100s of hours into it's just that I don't like most other games. Many don't even reach 5/10 when I think about what I want from a video game.

Attached: 1555644279561.jpg (732x1024, 82K)

9.7 out of 10

8.5/10
It was cool to see old enemies, but I didn't like how they made Moblins, Bokoblins and Hinoxes ALL pigmonsters, especially when its the downfall time line. Moblins should be bulldogs. Bokoblins are fair game for pigs or orcs or imps or goblins. Hinoxes are supposed to be muscular cyclopes.
I didn't like how most of the the game is nothing buy moblins, bokoblins, and lizalfos.
And most of all I hated how empty the world is, and how it has no backstories yet unending mysteries.
Once you beat the story, sidemissions, update your clothing and the shrines there is NOTHING to do other than set your sheika slate to find treasure chests buried underground.
Theres all sorts of cool ruins, but like zero story behind them.
I want to know about the parade ground ruins, the twin peaks valley ruins, the Dragon/Turtle temple in Faron woods, the Colosseum. Why the gerudo statue isn't with the rest and why its sword is on top of the mountains. Why, when and a group of Hylians became tan and settle on the beach.

Because it was so short and empty, along with some little annoyances like the weapons breaking, the continued cel-shaded art style, and stuff like that, I say its a 8.5/10.

Stop being trans and find a brapper who braps daily. Brapping works out the brap muscles

I prefer Dr. Stone’s naive depiction of America’s industrial Cowboy Culture

I know the Zelda series doesn't have that much in the way of enemy variety, but they could have done a bit more than Goblin 1, Goblin 2, Lizard 1, Lizard 2. It's incredibly boring

overrated/10

Well stop being gay. Easy.

With or without the DLC I'd say it's a 5/10. It tried its hardest, but it was missing something really essential: a good challenge. No matter what I did, no matter how much I gimped myself, the game just failed to peak my interest. Even doing a 3 heart run, enemies were dying left and right because of their horrendous AI. My quest through hyrule was in search of thrills and adventure, and I don't feel that when the game bends over and doesn't offer a challenge. I need a strong presence pushing me back, or it feels like I've gained nothing. The game itself wasn't even consistent on its rules. Every opportunity they had to make me "strategize" was trivialized by other aspects of the game. For example, you say that weapon durability was designed to make me think about combat and learn how to manage weapons? That'd be cool if the game didn't give you infinite bombs, throw weapons at you like candy, and let you carry infinite amounts of food and a near-endless supply of cooked dishes. You can't just tell me to "duuuude turn off your brain lmao XD". That's not what I expect from a 60 dollar purchase, plus DLC. I expected a bit more of a coherent experience.

Storywise, I hated every single character. Bunch of cliches and bland sex appeal with the personality of a foot fungus. I would've rather teamed up with Ganon to murder everyone. maybe the game would've felt more exciting. Overall, it feels really overrated.

nice autism, or did you get that somewhere else on Yea Forums?

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Once you get off the plateau and wander around a bit you realize how little there actually is in the world. Just a few towns (and one of them has 0 plot relevance or anything to do besides a gambling game), 4 beast 'dungeons', the final dungeon, and tons of similar shrines and koroks all over the place. I ended up avoiding most fights later on as the combat system was way less fun than the other non-SS 3D Zeldas too.
Doesn't help there's only a handful of enemies in the entire game either. The NES games had more enemy variety.

It was basically bragging rights.

But you can't get it until you've done most of the content and it's a resource dump

Attached: 1463668294369.png (569x553, 13K)

So?

Have YOU played the original Zelda?
LoZ has 9 actual dungeons per quest for 18 total, tons of enemy variety, numerous weapons and items to tinker with, a map that's not bloated to make the game feel bigger than it actually is, and 90 percent of the map squares has at least one secret hidden on it on either the first or second quest.

I do enjou this meme...however I fail to see just how much Pepe enjoys the lingering scent of the brap magic

Then why are you in this thread?

Just to see if I made the right decision.
I did.
The OOT randomized is worth more than this and it’s free

You see Moblins, Bokoblins, Keese, Chuchus, Guardians, golems and the skeleton variety of the first two either on the plateau or shortly after leaving it. After that the only enemies that are out of the way on a normal playthrough are Wizzrobes, Lynels, the cursed enemy heads, Yiga, and the bosses. That's it for enemy types.

You literally just described BotW.

Genuinely surprised that Darknuts weren't in the game.

Attached: schlorp.webm (398x224, 1.47M)

So why give me something when I've already finished the whole game that just consumes my finite resource pool

"You can have fun but only after you do your chores and only for as long as I say"

>finite resource
Throw in monster guts
You got a billion of them

Darknuts, Tektites and Redeads were strange omissions. Not to mention actual dragon enemies. Gleeok, Volvagia, or even Aquamentus should have been in the world somewhere.

Well....

Sorry, I was actually describing LoZ, a good game.

Combining all Guardians into one category is disingenuous. There are at least 4 distinct Guardian types. You also forgot Lizalfos, Octorocks, and Hinox.

You could maybe make an argument to add wolves and other wild animals that attack you, but that's stretching things.

10

Nope because you spend those at the monster shop. Even if I still had them, and even if I somehow had the foresight to save all possible side content (anything that isn't a dungeon) until I got the bike, they'd run out sooner or later

About 6 or 7. It was quite boring at the start, then I somehow got into it, but after defeating the first boss (camel) I just don't feel interested enough to continue. If this is the best Zelda game I dread to imagine what others are.

>a non-canon book created by westerners made in the 80s is more 'Zelda' than the games
ok retard

Is that why all Zelda discussions devolve into console wars and porn spam?

Not him, but most of Zelda one is exploring the overworld and finding secret stairs and caves. Most of BotW is about exploring the overworld and finding secret shrines.
The big difference is really that Zelda 1's dungeons are combat gauntlets whereas BotW's dungeons strings of puzzles (barring Hyrule Castle which is a Zelda 1 style combat gauntlet).

The fact that you have dungeons that are locked away by items found in dungeons, like say the raft. Doesn't really change how the games are similar at all.

>100 boring as fuck useless puzzle rooms with the same tiresome looking mechanical theme makes up for 8-10 good unique and memorable dungeons
Kill yourself

>You could maybe make an argument to add wolves and other wild animals that attack you, but that's stretching things.
I'd agree, except that people often cite absolutely nothing enemies like the bats and rats when they speak about the breadth of the enemy variety of other games. And wolves are most certainly a bigger threat than those.

Total bullshit. BotW has far more in common with the original than OoT does. OoT is extremely linear with a larger emphasis on story and little exploration, the dungeons in the original are almost entirely combat oriented with little puzzles. Everything they have in common is superficial, like having dungeons with items, their actual structure is nothing alike.

game itself is a 6.5/10 but it gives people who don't know anything about video games a 10/10 experience.

i had a 8.5/10 experience with it for the first few hours though, if that counts.
but the game itself is like a 7/10 at best, and i'd say it's a 5/10 due to the lack of dungeons, weapon/inventory slot limitations (yes i know about korok seeds), poor music compared to other zelda games, poor progression system, (just get rupees from minigames, buy the gear you need to survive the environment near this divine beast, etc) inconsistent shrines (some are great, some are shit), lack of difficult content / extra content, etc.

it has a good map to explore, but again, even farcry 4 had a better map, so...

Their dungeons being formulaic is another, separate, point. As shit as SS is it's overworld approach was a step in the right direction. A massive hyrule/termina field hub with injection points into contained sub areas is preferable to open world. Open world is massively overrated.

Ass/10
