the level of quality present in both Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy will blow your mind.
Watanabe (the director) likes to bring on different talent and directors for almost every single episode and he lets them go crazy. I've genuinely in all of my years never seen anything like Space Dandy.
You WON'T like every single episode. But you will like at least one. It's value is in it's identity as the embodiment of creative freedom and expression in an industry that shits out garbage and has horrible deadlines all the time.
Space Dandy is freedom of expression for dozens of wonderfully talented people that love what they do.

Honestly, I feel like ZOE takes way more from Gundam. The space station itself looks like one of the colonies, and the experimental weapon being the tipping point in a system wide conflict, with political layers lost on this child pilot. The more I say, the more it definitely is Gundam on a slightly smaller scale. I'm not even mad, it does a lot different enough that it works.
