I only have call of pripyat and wanted to immerse with it but I couldn't for the life of me find just a mod to have english subtitles with the russian dialogue. Anyone have a mod for this? I just need the name of it or something to get me on the right path.

Why just one? They're all part of the same story. SoC's the beginning chapter, and pretty mandatory for rookies. Luckily, it is also the best one.

They're hella immersive even without mods. I've put over 2 weeks to each of the 3 games, all-vanilla. You can easily fuck up the game's balance and make your life in the Zone a total misery if ya pick up bad mods, so better play them as-is first.

It doesn't take much longer than that to finish the story, though you may miss some side content and / or optional endings.

Now, the most important thing w/ Stalker is to NEVER GIVE UP. For some reason, lots of newbies seem to find the rough "hobo phase" beginning taunting or underwhelming, making 'em drop the game too early on.

Play SoC first. No matter what.

If you end up getting SoC then use the ZRP mod to remove time limits on sidequests. SoC doesn't really need mods to be enjoyed.

1) it's the FIRST GAME in the trilogy.
2) CoP is the LAST game in the trilogy.
3) The way the campaign is designed and paced in SoC makes it way better & more engaging for rookies. The Zone's wonders are slowly introduced to you in a dramatic manner.
4) CoP assumes you've already beaten the past 2 games, and just sends you off to do sum' HC Stalkan, without much instructions.
5) CoP is boring AF compared to the first two games.

CoP dosen't assume you have played the last two games but it does just throw you in open world and is very non linear compared SoC, CoP has more rpg elements then Soc. If you want an atmospheric shooter then play Soc, if you want an atmospheric shooter with rpg elements then play Cop
