It's honestly amazing to me how fast the interest in Stage Builder seemed to slow. It's without a doubt the most open one yet with the most limitless potential yet no one used it much after the first couple of days besides a few diehards despite Smash being the biggest audience of probably any game. It's kind of sad. I wonder if it's because there just isn't that much interest in user generated content for people to feel the urge to make it, or if the Builder is just too hard for the majority of people to get the hang of using it and puts people off from learning how to use it easier

It's because everyone has already reached the stage limit and can neither create nor download more without first deleting some, or hacking their Switch. I guarantee you if tomorrow an update released that doubled the allowed number of stages, these threads would be alive again.

I guess you're right. I'm as obsessed with the Builder as you could possibly get and even I've said in multiple threads I'd probably stop being a reg once I made 99. God Nintendo really messed up so much with that stupid limit, I still don't understand why it's in place in the first place.

I started looking at the Click Clock Wood. It looks like you (hopefuly you're still in these threads) use the bottom rails to stop/start the backgrounds by having it try to move past them, but what's with the bits at the top? Just curious, I'm not trying to ape it.
3 reasons I can think of:
1) The hub is basically Reddit in the sense that it promotes easily-digestible content, not exactly quality. The top stages are usually some form of Avengers Tower, a meme reference, or something else you can quickly look at and Yeah! without actually playing it.
2) The glut of awful porn stages is a turn off for many, such as people who play around friends/family. Like, do I want my 5-year old son walking in to see one of the Pokemon girls being fucked by a dog? Absolutely not. I don't actually have a son, but I'm sure many players do have relatives/friends that they don't want to look like perverts to. I'm not trying to knock them all, but just understand that this is a very niche thing.
3) In the end, the people online talking about SSBU and still playing it 6 months later heavily prefer true competition. That means 1v1 on the subset of tourney-legal stages. So SB is irrelevant for much of the community.

This stage is based on the second world of Bomberman 64. I initially tried to design functioning cannons for it as a hazard, and if I had been successful, I would have gone for an outdoor design representing one of the regular levels. I couldn’t so I opted for the boss stage instead, inside the waterway. It features the giant angler boss that rises on either side of the stage to swing its angler dangler onto the stage, and there are also some bomb blocks within the wooden main stage to simulate the angler wearing down your raft during the boss fight. It looks pretty hideous from the thumbnail, but it looks a bit better in motion.

I put out a minor update to "Genocide City". In version 2 (1b) I added some art because the stage seemed a bit boring, and I did it badly to look funny. But I didn't realize it could cause the stage to lag so much. So I improved the head visually and in terms of efficiency, using some of the techniques I've picked up for Stage Builder art + tricks learned from this thread. The end result looks better, but still comically bad, and is much more efficient. Hopefully it doesn't lag up players online now. Also, I decided that Genocide City was a horrible name and most of the SSBU players have no idea what that's referring to. So I changed it to "Sonic's Hood", which is more in line with the stage anyway. This might sound dumb, but I sort of envisioned the ice block as Sonic rolling around while I was making this stage.
