In chivalry, I was an untouchable god who brought fear into the hearts of men because they couldn't even touch me to land a hit on me before they'd get oneshot by my reverse maul overhead feint drags. Meanwhile in mordhau I actually have to try and have a real sword fight. It's like playing chivalry the way chivalry was intended to be played before people started breaking it into oblivion.

The combat isn't horribly broken like Chivalry. There are no instant spinning reverse overheads. No instant overheads if you face the ground. The devs said they hate that shit from Chivalry and will patch it out if it ever happens.

I was thinking the same thing the other day, actually. I came to the conclusion that sometimes you're going to click the capped one but the frontline will just get capped so you might as well wait a little bit.

It should be something as "Click to spawn somewhere you want" and "press Space to spawn at the front". That way you can spam space and always be bumped at the heat of battle.

Skirmish is arguably one of the least fun since it means you arent playing alot of the time, especially as a new player. Play the main game mode frontline, its like Battlefield, but with melee weapons.

They kept saying that skirmish would be the best way to learn the mechanics, but it was obviously not because it was full of people who already had 50+ hours and were expert duelists. I spent two hours just playing that and being frustrated the entire time so I refunded while I could.

The only thing I take actual issue with is rapier spam, that feels like it shouldnt be happening. I love the clusterfuck combat, I would hate for this to turn into nothing but duel servers, I want to feel my dick swell when I knock 3 peoples heads off with a maul in one swing, I want to taste hte tears when I whip 3 firebombs into the enemy catapult and block corridors, I want to have to billhook horseniggers and have everyone in a 5 mile radius gather around and river dance on his skill, I want to run up the flank and have a quick duel with some asshole who also strayed off the main path before returning to the frontlines, if it was nothing but duels I would get bored fast.

No fishes, unfortunately. The most humiliating way to kill is beating to death with lute then turning it over and rocking a lute solo afterward.

It's a subtle change but swapping grip mid-fight can throw off your opponent's timing.

Don't worry, that's only because they have 4 frontline maps where you need to constantly get to the frontline(hence the name) to prevent losing. Once they add attack/defend maps everyone in general will have less reason to sprint to the front as soon as they spawn as there isn't a flag at risk of being captured or a flag they need to capture, and would have no problem chilling back a little.

Thats why its bullshit, they just spam and even if you use the mechanics to counter it the weapon is so fast it doesnt even need the player to time that shit, they just spam it and it will do it for them. They arent an instant win weapon it is just shitty that there is a weapon that allows players to ignore mechanics and spam attack and get away with that, not just get away with it but be successful. It has the fastest stab in the game outside of the dagger, thats how it can do that shit. Do something like have it cost more stamina to do that or punish it more with misses it would be fine.

Combined with shields they are just unreasonably safe and annoying.

You are still getting slapped by his spam since the stab is the fastest attack outside of the dagger, so if you morph into another swing that isnt to chamber his stab you will get hit because he is simply faster, it also doesnt stop other people hitting you in the middle of doing this, it is a rarity to face people one on one in this. If they are using a shield too they have but to raise it after the chamber and start the whole process over. Its some cheese bullshit, people are getting chambers by accident simply because they are spamming the attack and its so fast that it just intercepts the enemies attack without them realizing what they are doing. Reduce the speed even sleightly so that if it is chambered it cant just stab immediately again, the only weapon that should allow for quick stab spam should be the dagger itself.

Shields are getting nerfed because no matter how gud you are they still take too long to kill. That makes anything but 1v1 fights miserable when shields get involved. Anyone who uses shields is the one who doesn't want to git gud, they should be removed or nerfed heavily.

It can only be done with long reaching weapons. It doesn't require skill, you'll be surprised how easy it is. Literally just sprint toward an enemy while swinging 45-90 degrees to your side, then try your best to move the mouse toward him and it will hit him like 7/10 times.

In most of the games ive played lutes are seen as noncombatants and killing them is a warcrime unless they engage in something un-lutey.

I destroy games with spear and executioner. The rapier straight up counters spear but with executioner rapiers get destroyed. This is fine because it's easy to outplay a rapier with a non-stab long reach weapon, but for every other weapon rapier is just too difficult to deal with. It's just below shield on things needing to be readjusted considering just how many people it instantly counters. They need to either make the rapier cost more points so whoever uses it is a total glass cannon, or reduce its damage.

why not both and then just pick up a weapon on the field. the problem with low armor with bloodlust is that most weapons will one shot you making bloodlust pointless and only really shines in 3 armor letting you tank like 4-5 hits.

Bloodlust is pretty bad honestly. 3/3/3 is better because for every kill, you get like 25 health back even if you have 0 perks. I don't have any numbers but playing with both of them, I feel like I live forever with 3/3/3 as long as I use stuff like maul or exec and literally never wait for my health to regen.

Throwing weapons, bows, medkits etc also drop when hit.

Mountain Peak is unironically the most balanced map. Even then its fairly red biased but not as hard as a few others.
