LowTierGod plays mahjong soul when?

is this a good game?

>Gotta start working on my 40page thesis.

Send help.

Is it that game where you can solve crimes?

Mahjong is an ooold game and is still played because of the luck+skill addiction it creates.

It's hard to make a good UI for it but the chinks did a pretty good job with this. Also has some gacha elements but only for skins, you can just play as the hag or cat and have access to 100% of the gameplay

>you can just play as the hag
You have to be 18+ to post here.

>finally get a hand together
>I can feel it, I'll ippatsu
>riichi
>someone else tsumos with my winning tile
Fuck Silver rooms, I swear this shit is rigged.

I just want to be able to complete hands without having to discard dangerous tiles

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa

Attached: you know what would be funny, making a tile with seven pairs and constantly drawing duplicates of wh (240x157, 21K)

Stroll here, i kept having awful luck. I was one tile off a 10 yaku hand at the start of that last one, too bad nobody dropped an east or west. I'm up to keep playing.

Also i prefer 8-round games, despite longer, because it lets people come back from getting demolished.

imagine getting triple ron'd in east 1, but still not losing enough points to end the game?

Fucking Silver things..

What's the best Android Mahjong? Emulating a game system with a touch screen works too.

>going for seven pairs
lol

>Playing on PC in bedroom
>Decide to drag PC to living room so I can play on 70 inch TV, have yaku picture open, Yea Forums open and game open

This is the way to play

I have a finale tommorow that I haven't studied for because I kept playing Mahjong instead the whole week.

N-Nyaa to you too.

Can anons please explain pinfu to me? Also what is a two-sided wait?

you need at least 3 more faggots to play it

Attached: 1555444736471.gif (500x500, 1.28M)

The technical definition is a hand that isn't worth any fu beyond the base 20. Triplets are worth fu, so every meld needs to be a sequence. Pairs of dragons, round wind, or seat wind are worth fu, so your pair has to be something other than that. A two-sided wait is the only one that isn't worth fu, so it has to be that.

A two-sided wait would be like when you're waiting with a 3-4, so you need either a 2 or a 5 to win.

I'm amused as fuck that all that it took for vidya to lose itself to mahjong demons was catgirls and bunch of gook loosers in lobby.

Majan veteran here, is there anyone who plays regularly irl? Post your fail hands, strange shit, yakumans and your cunt because I'm searching for players in my 2nd world shithole.

Brainlet-lucklet spotted. Go play fortnite babby.

Another WWYD puzzle for you anons. BTW, I really recommend you finding some playing buddies, get a tile set and play during friday nights.

drop your East and get ron'd like a bitch.

As soon as I started playing silver room matches my winrate plummeted. Somehow everyone is completing their hands before me, I'm just going for simple yaku.

Panic because I'm outside, and in the presence of other human beings.

>Majan veteran here, is there anyone who plays regularly irl?
Yes, but only as of a few months ago
What set is that by the way? irl tiles are neat and I've only found a couple different sets for sale (for reasonable prices at least) so I'm always interested in finding more options

RONYA!

I probably wouldn't be able to resist and then deal into whoever is hoarding the east tiles.

4 man, aim for iipeiko

For those that can't wait for Android version you can use a kiosk app. Then you can just put the game on your home screen.

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.ozerov.fully

I want to play it locally, but where I am no one would even be interested.

I play on my phone using chrome and it works perfectly, no need for apps.

8s

This: It even rotates automatically.

>nobody dropped the red dragon, and they're calling like crazy
>someone probably has a pair, or with my luck they probably already have a hidden triplet
>need some fucking points to get out of fourth place in south 4, might as well riichi on dora wait
>guess what I fucking draw
>check their hands on replay
>turns out nobody really had them, but there really was a triplet of dragons, just not the red one
>check the wall to see if my wait was fruitless
>even if that player on my right skipped this 4-pin I dealt for some god forsaken reason, the other guy 99% would have drawn and dealt it since they folded
>player to my left would draw and tsumo off my winning tile
Okay, that's enough bitching for one day. I'll just try making 1000 point tanyao pinfu hands.

sort of. you can play east and 3P for free. hanchan is for ranked only which requires in game currency. you can gain those tokens by playing those free games.

I use that but i'm still pretty lost

>watch replay of the guy from the lobby who got 4th to see what he was doing

Looking for a room for drooling noobs

Ok, can somebody please explain to me how I fucked up here?

I called riichi on a 1, 4, or 7 wait. I drew the 4 but wanted a 1 for a full straight so I discarded it. Immediately after I discarded the 4, Fragolia to my right discarded the 1 that I needed but I couldn't pick it up because I was now in Furiten. That move ended up costing me the round because I never drew anything I needed and the jap on my left Tsumo'd and cleaned us all out.

I thought I got most of the Furiten rules but it seems not. Does it put you in Furiten if you discard a winning tile on Riichi even if you have multiple waits?

Attached: furiten.png (1802x939, 1.79M)

>Start off with 3 triplets of a dragon in my opening hand
>Immediatly start to chase big three dragons yakuman like a retard
I really need to stop doing this

Attached: 1557121462481.jpg (930x916, 71K)

Yes

Temporary furiten?

It's called furiten. If there's a winning tile in your pond, you can't call ron anymore.

Temporary furiten. For the round you skip a call, you cannot go out. It prevents you from targeting players.

>15 points from adept 3
>next up: worst game of my life, just an absolute shit show
>dropped from 1st to 4th, below the fucking dc'd auto discard bot, in the course of South with unbelievable dogshit luck

>riichi
>temporary furiten
It wouldn't be temporary even without riichi anyway

>trashed us on the last tile of the last hand

God damn nice.

>The only one opportunity to call ron comes from the first instance of a winning discarded tile.
>If the call to win is declined, then the only option to win the hand comes via tsumo.
Permanent furiten.

Probably the 8s. The extra wait is the 9s which breaks my tanyao. I could also see an argument for the 4m, since drawing the 3s for my iipeikou is going to give me an extra pair regardless and that way I get a chance at pinfu tanyao iipeikou.

My hand will be faster if I drop the 8s, because then a 4m, 2s, 3s, 5s, or 6s puts me in tenpai, while dropping the 4m puts me in tenpai with only a 3s or 6s. It basically comes down to how badly I want that pinfu, which probably isn't that badly.

No, but there is a minimum score to win, and if you set it high enough then small hands stop being viable.

Good stuff, i would have dropped a nuke if someone put down a dot-9 or red dragon, but no luck here.

Two spots left, someone afk'd and didnt ready up

i need something like a junk mat if im going to buy tiles but i dont want to spend more/as much on the mat as the tiles...

why is it so hard to find some type of table/mat with borders

I can top that. Turn 4 ron for only 1000 points

It definitely wasn't temporary. It passed me by a few times and I was still showing as Furiten

YADAAAAA

Attached: Screenshot_2019-05-07 Mahjongsoul.png (1749x984, 1.44M)

>Chii instead of Pon
>Not waiting for the rest of the dragons

When will these onee-sans learn?

It's temporary as in it goes away when someone else makes a call. If nobody makes a call (pon/chi/etc) then you're still in furiten.

Can you still have Seven Pairs if you can?

No, kan counts as a triplet, can't have two pairs of the same tile.

Let's be reality here, it was highly likely that someone else had a hatsu pair there so you could only get to a shou san gen with the last chun and haku. It wasn't a terrible loss.

I still find furtien mystifying. This is because I discarded the 6pin right?

Attached: Untitled.png (1233x701, 955K)

Japan's pro mahjong league started an english youtube series for some reason. Here's the first video.

youtu.be/povvMEtyzbo

Temporary furiten doesn't apply when you're in riichi.

The only time temporary furiten applies is if you pass a winning ron without having declared riichi. Passing a tsumo win will count as permanent furiten in all cases

Yes

>when you patiently and nervously build a big dick hand and lands a tsumo

Why does every game do this?

If you're f2p don't use the shop, when you reach silver+ you pay copper to enter and gain chests containing gifts and stuff.

Watching akagi now, what does it mean when they place a tile sideways on top of their hand? (Like in pic related)

Attached: akagi.png (1920x1080, 1.41M)

Dunno how all the other currency shit works, but copper has two functions

>buying gifts for your waifu
>playing ranked rooms higher than bronze

People keep getting confused about this but temporary furiten applies only under the following conditions:
1. You have not declared riichi
2. Another player discards a tile that would complete your hand and, regardless of whether you have yaku or not, you do not ron
3. You have not discarded since passing up the ron
That's it. Calls have nothing to do with it - temporary furiten ONLY ends when you discard. Anything else, whether you discard your winning tile yourself or skip a ron while in riichi, is permanent furiten.

Buy gifts for your waifu and higher tier rooms cost bronze to enter

U start betting the copper at silver

You use those to play in Silver ranked rooms and above. Alternatively, dump them into buying gifts, which you can then either give to the girls to level their bond OR sell them back for dust to use for buying a Summon Scroll to attempt getting riichi sticks or new girls. I think there's also a cat paw you can use to replace your hand with.

I do not understand the shop at all there are like 5 kinds of currency and I don't even know how I would use real money if I wanted to

h-how do we keep pretending this isn't a general?

Because mandarin sounds like SHIT. Why couldn't canto have been the main language, FUCK.

Think it's just to have it there for the sake of convenience. Usually it's done when someone is looking to replace a tile with the one they've just drawn.

>>It's temporary as in it goes away when someone else makes a call. If nobody makes a call (pon/chi/etc) then you're still in furiten.

because it's a recently released game with mostly new players instead of a semi-established community?

How do I increase my luck so that I don't get stuck with terminal tiles and wind tiles that aren't the round or seat winds

I am fluent in Cantonese and I think Mandarin sounds better. Historically it's a cuck dialect since it's Manchurian

Fuck vg trannys and drama. I aint going there.

It's done for convenience here. This way the viewer can see both the drawn tile and how it fits the hand simultaneously. Professional players who play televised games do the same thing. Your average Joe in a mahjong parlor? Nah.

how does furiten works?
I thought it's i can only win when i draw the card myself.
But when i draw it, i can't win either.

Majsoul Friends Room 14550(4-Player South): mahjongsoul.game.yo-star.com/?room=14550
gogogo

Someone teach me tile efficiency because apparently whatever I do people are completing their hands faster than me.
I'm doing ok with defense.

Thanks

what's your yaku?

Your hand is 13 tiles plus the one in your actual hand. For the sake of the viewer being able to see what's going on, the character's are stacking the 14th tile in front of them.

Because you don't run a kindergarten in an abandoned graveyard church. Most of people here are either complete noobs or new for this particular package of riichi.

Attached: Yagi_Yui-7.png (100x100, 18K)

no yaku

can't win without a yaku user
you opened your hand/didn't riichi without having some other way of adding value to it

Play mahjong somewhere without time limits and really put your autism hat on, thinking what's the most efficient play for each turn. Also a yuuge part of efficiency is knowing what kind of hands you are aiming for from your starting hand. In a lot of ways the first turn is the most important one.

You can't win without yaku

>internet randomly disconnects during East 1
>reconnect a few seconds later
>"That match has ended"
>automatically get assigned 4th place
That's it. I'm not taking ranking seriously anymore.

KEEP PLAYING IN THATS WHAT WE LIKE TO SEE CALLS AND PLAYING IN

Yea Forums doesn't allow generals, do this thread can't be a general.

When will this game have an option of requiring 2 han to win?

>Passing a Tsumo

What kind of brainlet would do such a thing?

...

There goes all my luck for the next few weeks, three straight calls

>playing ranked game

>check log

Attached: 1557146194233.png (120x120, 8K)

You forgot two important points:
1. Furiten applies to the whole hand, not to the specific tile that was discarded/passed.
2. Furiten doesn't give a fuck if it's a winning tile, but only if it's the tile that would complete the hand.

Maybe in a case where the fourth place player would end up with negative points and end the game but you'd still get only second or third place.

Just learn the fucking furiten

Let me make it very clear for you. There are two types of furiten (with the first being eay more common)

1. Permanent furiten:
If ANY of your winning tiles is in your discards (or in the tiles your opponents have called), you can NOT call ron. No ifs or buts.

2. Temporary furiten:
If a player discards your winning tile but you ignore it, you can't call ron until you've made your next discard, hence 'temporary'.

That's all there is to it.

Why haven't I seen this posted yet

Attached: 1533534971737.jpg (1055x640, 73K)

so what's the point of furiten?
I thought it worth at least 1 yaku

The point of furiten is so you can't target players you don't like or in last place.

Attached: 1390142689081.jpg (384x288, 41K)

Like I said, I was hoping for the 1 for a better hand.

it's also the reason that tactical defensive play exists

Furiten is not a yaku.

What's wrong with her?

That was a fast East 1

Needing only 1 han to win is already lame. I don't need a more accessible hand.

FUCKING JAPANESS TRY HARD

I have two: one is standard imported yellow set with JUNKMAT, the second (red) is something that was avaliable in my country for scraps - it has more vibrant colors but tiles themselves are quite uneven.

Also, one of my buddies had a set of Washizu Mahjong (quite crappy but it worked).

Attached: Zdjęcie1803.jpg (2048x1536, 494K)

I tried not discarding as many early honors in these games and I think it worked out really well. There were a lot of matches where I still discarded something too early instead of just changing my hand up to fit it in, and I always ended up regretting it. I had more than one spot where I was sitting there staring at a dragon I drew and went "yeah there's someone waiting to pon this thing and if I discard it I'm just speeding them up".

Same with that last discard, I was debating whether to drop my ryanmen and try to turn the chun into a pair wait.

can i play it on me phone?

some free shilling for Sega MJ
0) same as with tenhou you screenshot your code upon registration and save it because it's impossible to recover. You get to pick a body type only once so choose wisely. Only game I know where you can play dress up with a fat NTR man by the way.
1) free tonpus are free, you get here gold for the ranked in small unsatisfying quantities. If you really care you can hoard gold hoping for the event where you absolutely need to win the event character, like the recent Tonegawa one.
2) ranked works so the better performance replaces the bad one upon the 9+ game so the more you play the better you are placed. There's probably some reward I never cared to find out.
3) you click free cheap shit gacha every day, the right corner button, that button redirects you to all the gachas screen. Sometimes as the login bonus you get a ingame currency cheap shit gacha roll pass. Those gachas give bingo cards and scrolls with quests, and stuff for your little goblin body. You equip the scrolls or bingos and just play hoping they clear themselves .
4) every week there are 5 login bonuses, a chest with some cheap shit or a paid play pass.
5) the rewarded passes you'll get are confusing but basically there are 4 types - regular paid ranking one play pass, event tournament play pass, a shitty gacha pass and the passes you won't ever use because they are basically deals for the paying players so don't mind them. So you get a weird ticket - click three places - both ranked and the gacha near the free daily one.
6) rarely there are give aways of anime character portraits, like right now, this replaces your body-kun or body-chan but you still need to buy for the medals/find in the rewards backgrounds and frames. Medals are useless once you need nothing out of the medal shop which isn't getting updated ever. They are also drops from chests from the scrolls and bingos.
7) u suffer all this shit because NPC narrators are hype.

Still need one more

If people are spamming pon and you're going for kokushi you absolutely shouldn't be aborting the hand, it doesn't make any sense. You've got so many terminals you're probably more likely to give away something they want.

Besides, what's the worst that happens? Aborting a kokushi is basically folding regardless, and you're getting ronned for like 4k max compared to your yakuman.

You forgot the most important thing. Click an opponent's riichi stick to see their safe tiles (gembutsu) hilighted. This includes both the tiles they have discarded and tiles other players have discarded after the riichi.

The school of tenho really did a lot for me. Now i am used to haneman and mangans from damaten and watch people's hands. Unfortunately nobody does this shit here, i bet people don't even do discards from hand when you get the same tile you already have to show you're not in tempai.

see

Say you're in riichi, and you draw a tile that you could call kan with, but doing so would change your wait. Will this game allow you to do so, or will this game not even give you the option?

I remember doing so in one single player mahjong game. Got to the end, nobody won, and the game gave me a chombo.

Open kan basically never, closed kan is nice if you're planning to riichi because you'll get two new dora indicators instead of one. Never kan in any form if someone's already in riichi

You can't influence luck, but you can influence your skill.
Even if the game is 80% luck and 20% skill over a long period of time skilled players will always rank higher than unskilled players.

>discards from hand when you get the same tile you already have to show you're not in tempai
You might think it's a cool bluff but strong players can see through karagiri and extract useful information from it and weak players just don't notice it anyway. There's a time and a place for karagiri but it's a bad habit to get into and you're better off just defaulting to tsumogiri.

>Say you're in riichi, and you draw a tile that you could call kan with, but doing so would change your wait. Will this game allow you to do so, or will this game not even give you the option?
The latter.

Then you did the right thing. Just because something happens once doesn't mean you picked bad odds, it means you got unlucky.

>4 kan and a hag is on riichi
I have never slammed Ron harder for a shitty hand in my life

Dont think i ever seen 1 damaten in gold room so maybe its just a tenhou habit.

I started 3 days ago and I'm getting the hang of it plus some wins, I still aim for simple hands and I get fucked by no yakus. anyway I have some questions :

When I should call pon and chi and what other purposes do the calls have? someone told me it raises the value of your hand but I learned to play more patient and I only do it when I'm waiting for a triplet ''9,9,9' and someone discards it and there is another 9 in the discard pile. I also learned to not do kan, I fucked my riichi with a kan.

I should riichi? when watching they sometimes skip their riichi, I guess because the enemy might have a clue of what their hand is? or trying to caught them out of surprise? also that doesn't cause them to be on furiten?

Someone posted two days ago a link with 4 competitive players playing on TV, what's the schedule on that?

Need one more.

I don't know what karagiri is but i doubt you can tell if i am tempai or not with that shit as long as i don't waste my time. Basically you're saying a strong player can see my hand like an open book but i doubt so. You can point the difference when someone wastes too much time or suddenly discards a bunch of dangerous tiles, if it's a safe tile you're in the dark. I don't know if it's cool or not but any small detail can help.
>bad habit
I guess it depends on your end goal if i understand you correctly. Sometimes you want to intimidate your opponents or you can do the opposite.
?

Skipping riichi might also be for a better hand, you're in wait for a tile or two for some specific hand, but draw tenpai for something else that you don't wanna go for

The perfect time to start calling Pon and Chi is when you are 100% certain your hand is almost completed in getting a closed Yaku in order to end the round and gain a Han. Many players make the mistake and brute force it until they have little tiles left without Yaku, so they have no choice but to fold or get lucky and manage to get Tenpai when there are no more tiles left to play. As for skipping Riichii, it's a Risk vs Reward thing. You can skip it if you think you'll gain a Tsumo, which is more Yaku than a Riichii.

weird tips for intermediates (or: if you're a beginner, ignore this entire post)

>don't always instantly drop all your honors and terminals at the start of the round
all it takes is one draw to turn your useless 1 chun into a powerful 2 chun. and if someone's waiting on that chun, you can completely destroy their hand if you never drop it and they call something too early. an isolated 5 isn't particularly any better or worse than an isolated 1, you still need to draw a bunch of tiles to get it to work, and there are probably more productive ways to grow your hand.

>stop dropping your doras
If you have to drop a dora to get your hand into tenpai, consider just changing your waits. is it really worth halving your score to get into tenpai?

>stop doing dumb riichis
If you only have 2-3 tiles you can win on, just don't riichi, especially near the end of the game. you're probably going to end up losing 1000 points. Or worse, dealing into someone else.

>stop folding completely the moment someone riichis
this isn't a professional tournament setting, you aren't a professional player, and unless you're absolutely certain your opponent is waiting on the tile you just drew (e.g. it's an honor that hasn't been discarded all game), consider just dropping it. what are the chances that you actually get ronned? in most cases, there are maybe 8 total tiles out of 100+ that they can even win on, and destroying your hand isn't going to stop them from tsumoing. Folding also means you won't be in tenpai at the end of the round, and that means you're getting "ronned" for 1000-3000 points.

>don't instantly riichi if you might be able to improve your hand
if you've got a sequence that you can expand to include the dora, or a 5 you could potentially replace with an akadora, hold out for a bit. even if you don't have any yaku at all, menzen tsumo is still a yaku on its own, and your hand probably wasn't worth that much to begin with if you didn't already have a few dora or another yaku.

Skipping calling riichi doesn't cause furiten, skipping calling ron your wait in riichi causes a temporary furiten

>go for pinfu
>ready to go to tenpai
>"no yaku"
>forgot to have an open-ended wait AGAIN

anyone else do this literally all the time?

Attached: 1541544708407.png (100x100, 21K)

My mistake, I thought it wasn't

this looks like a new major time sink to me

Attached: 1358963551442.png (278x267, 145K)

>Basically you're saying a strong player can see my hand like an open book but i doubt so.
Generally, discarding a tile from your hand gives more info than discarding your draw. Even if you discard that 5 or whatever and replace it with the same 5, another player might just end up going "well, he discarded that 5, he probably had some stuff near it".

Like what if he thinks your hand might have been 455 and you discarded the 5 to get a 45 instead? Then he's not going to discard the 3 or 6. Regardless of how little info you think it gives, the fact remains that you kept that 5 in your hand for this long.

How will I instill the fear of god in the heart of the chinese if I don't riichi as soon as I can?

Damaten is way scarier than riichi. Go one or two rounds without riichiing and more experienced opponents will start playing it safe even when they don't need to.

I don't forget, but that's often the hardest requirement for me to meet.
But if your hand is closed (which is one of the requirements for pinfu) you should still be able to go for a riichi only hand, still has a chance for menzen tsumo/ura dora.

>>stop folding completely the moment someone riichis
What are the chancec you'll manage to make a hand with a good way versus a guy who already waits for something. Even 1 shante can be too slow. Sometimes you can read a bunch of safe tiles but usually you just fold and that's the best thing to do. It can be different with an open hand because you have much more info on your opponent but even then, if you can't read it just fold.

>What are the chancec you'll manage to make a hand with a good way versus a guy who already waits for something.
Pretty good. fast riichis rarely have good waits. even if you don't think you'll be able to make a good hand, what's the harm in going a few more draws? you'll never know when your 2-shanten suddenly becomes a tenpai if you fold the moment your opponent calls a riichi. winning against a guy who's declared riichi is like getting a free 1000-point ron on him on top of your other winnings, it denies him his win (which could happen by tsumo regardless of what you do), and it denies him the possibility of getting a free 1000-point ron from you when you're noten at the end.

again, you aren't a professional and these aren't professional matches. you can afford to make mistakes every now and then. defense is not the most important thing in the world.

Maybe but how will he determine if i am in tempai or not? There are 3 other players as well. Is he gonna memorize their discards as well and keep in the mind the list of dangerous tiles? That sounds like a lot of work to be honest. Let's say he spectates only me for the most part. The most important question for him "is he tempai or not". If i am not tempai then that "dangerous" 5 doesn't matter much because you need to take a decision, keep 3, 6 or discard them to progress with your own hand.

New players don't understand the concept of live/shonpai honor late game. NPC dude in Sega mj worries about those so hard it pierces language barrier.

>Maybe but how will he determine if i am in tempai or not?
He'll guess, mostly. But discarding a tile from your hand already doesn't show him you're not in tenpai - it shows him that you might have just entered tenpai. And if he suspects you discarded the same tile you drew, he has some info on you.

This is all really high-level theoretical stuff, though. The fact is, it doesn't matter if you do or don't do this, because nobody's watching whether you're discarding from your hand or not anyways. Most pros agree that you shouldn't.

>Is he gonna memorize their discards as well and keep in the mind the list of dangerous tiles?
Sure. Top-level players don't bother remembering every single discard, but they still try to keep track.

>retty good. fast riichis rarely have good waits.
That's a very dangerous type of thinking. What you're saying is "my opponent's hand or waits are probably bad so it's ok to risk and deal in". My thought process is different. You don't need to win every hand, you have to win at the right times. Even with tempai your chances are basically 50/50 against your opponent. It's a big risk therefore you should get a much bigger reward than him to compensate.
>again, you aren't a professional and these aren't professional matches. you can afford to make mistakes every now and then. defense is not the most important thing in the world.
Indeed i don't think i am even qualified to call myself an average player but imo defense is the most important factor, outside of basic tile efficiency. In the end consistency is what matters.

Prepare myself for never getting the tile I need and someone else winning the hand.

Watch my opponents and try to spot a retard who doesn't care about my riichi with his shitty 1000 hand. It can be useful later on. I usually don't pic into people's profiles but it can be a good source of info too, as long as you have time to do it.

They say you can somehow mode your char using mahjsoul + client. Would be cool to see an epic noseman meme mod.

Maybe it was a chii, I can't remember. Just know I -WAS- going to do something about it, you smug bitch.

It was a lot of fun. I'll post another match tomorrow.

>What you're saying is "my opponent's hand or waits are probably bad so it's ok to risk and deal in".
Yes, exactly. If you risk a 2% shot, sometimes you'll lose. Most of the time, you won't. There are generally more tiles that will get you into tenpai than there are tiles that your opponent can win off of.

>you have to win at the right times
Sometimes, the right time is when your opponent has called riichi.

> Even with tempai your chances are basically 50/50 against your opponent.
No, because there's more info on your opponent's safe tiles than on yours. Against 2 riichis it's very likely that your opponents will try to fold, and they'll defend better against the other guy than you.

>In the end consistency is what matters.
Consistency is also about know when to take risks and what risks to take. If your entire skillset is based on tile efficiency and defense, that's a good start, that's a playstyle, but you need to diversify and learn some tricks in order to climb the ranks. Anyone can pick the most efficient tile and betaori whenever they fail to riichi. The real skill is knowing when to take risks.

PLEASE I NEED A PISS AND I KEEP WINNING AS DEALER EXTENDING THE WHOLE GAME

>I'm surprised it's taken them this many years to make a cute girl mahjong game.
There have been tons of them for decades
This is just the first free english one

You get FREE 25 seconds to pee and then other 10~ seconds until it's your turn again.

I thought Yea Forums knows its pissbottle strats.

The waifu shit is cringe. However the client and other stuff is well done. Too bad the thread is filled with xD looool how do I play mahjong ponnyaaaaa!~ should I use chinya!~ here?????mmm catgirl is my favourite!!! It's not all too bad though.

Attached: Minefieldmahjong.jpg (489x489, 183K)

I just started and there have been people answering a lot of my questions, I think the threads have been very helpful. Also this is Yea Forums so shitposting is part of everything

Speaking of cringe, If you care about riichi you will inevitably spend a lot of time teaching people online and irl. That's just how it goes you dolt.

Go watch akagi you noob

>Yes, exactly. If you risk a 2% shot, sometimes you'll lose. Most of the time, you won't. There are generally more tiles that will get you into tenpai than there are tiles that your opponent can win off of.
What i am trying to say is you don't have a way to determine your opponent's hand. Even if it was early, it could've been a 6 han monster. I don't think you can determine a 2 side wait or 4 han hand as rare or say it's only 2, 5 or 10%. Good players always try to do better. Let's think it the other way. Betaori lets you keep your score and lets someone else to take a hit. You didn't get points but technically you're closer to first or second place and you have higher chance to avoid 4th place. Isn't it small win by itself? Of course tsumo can happen but tsumo is still better than a ron against you.
>Sometimes, the right time is when your opponent has called riichi.
I do it too but on a rare occassion with big hands, sometimes it's a deciding round and i can get 1st and avoid 4th place because of score buffer. That's an example of "when it's worth it. Well, there are all kinds of playstyles i guess.
>Anyone can pick the most efficient tile and betaori whenever they fail to riichi. The real skill is knowing when to take risks.
True, can't say my tactic is super unique For now it works but the game isn't so simple at times so eventually i'll need to improve my reading skills and take it further.

Who is the akagi shigeru of Yea Forums?

Nobody. It's a luck based game you retard.

me

im akagi ishiggydiggyru dunno if that counts

t.not akagi shigeru

A lot of this is bad advice or, at best, very very situational.

Your push/fold evaluations are waaaaay off if you think pushing against riichi with ryanshanten, or iishanten for anything less than mangan, is a good idea.

>same guy gets like three tsumos
wat de fugg

Akagi's playstyle is terrible in the anime. He basically solves everything with cheating. Also there is a lot of bullshit, for example his sense about 2 chuns in the early episodes.

You can play it on any browser, even on phones. The original version does have an app, but there's been no news about an English version because the game is only 2 weeks old.

I don't think we know yet, it's a very small organization doing business with them.

will this game teach me how to play?

I don't think i've ever heard of something getting uncensored before

Yes, but only the very basics. It's enough to play, but you won't be getting the highest scores without doing some extra research.

I don't think they know what "bug" means
Unless the bug is that censored art got used in the wrong regions

>giant caveman tiles
user those plastic tiles are even more disgraceful desu

>do nothing all round

Obviously it's not a bug. They're just calling it one so they can reverse it without looking weak.

It's probably something like the CN client is supposed to be censored while the EN and JP ones aren't, but the builds got mixed up somewhere

Link it.

Why are chinese tiles so big
How does the wall even comfortably fit on the table

Very important poll.
strawpoll.me/17949090

we use fuck large tables for it

Different auto-tables, of course. I think the tiles are big because Chinese cheat like no tomorrow. I mean I heard about never ever gamble Chinese before I even knew anything about mahjong. You can't hide this brick inside your palm at all.

how else would you loudly bash the RON tile onto the table to assert dominance? you plastic fags are missing out

they don't say "ron" in chinese mahjong

does anyone know if theres a yaku here? note that the seat is neither north nor west

Attached: chrome_i32vIUvM97.png (1293x139, 128K)

where can i play mahjong with a chinese/korean/japanese girl, who is also cute?

yeah, it's a shame that most people get stuck thinking "dude, this looks HARD AS SHIT"
they think it's a high IQ intensive game like chess but it's really not

They just have one huge pool in the middle of the table. No need to read your opponent's waits when you're trying to build a hand and nothing else.
100% serious. I've gone into chinaman gambling dens and would never consider playing their dogshit mahjong.

women who play mahjong are all gay why even bother

This thread is clear example of that. It's fucking infruiating.

That almost sounds appealing, defensive play is stressful and folding for 90% of a hanchan gets kind of dull sometimes

I don't think they will. Chang and Mario are both minorities. I don't see fukumoto doing a dirty and implying the people with a hard past will fuck over another dude. They're definitely going to end up flying to their home country while Kaiji gets fucked back in Japan.

Thinking about it what happened to Kaiji's bros in part 1. They get shifted underneath the table lmao.
