Is this one of the most memorable games of all time?
Is this one of the most memorable games of all time?
It is not
My personal favorite cause I'm a /deepfag/
3 is clearly the best but this game fucked with me in good ways
Yes, and an ultimate pleb filter. It filtered me HARD when it released, I was pissed off about the Raiden twist. Then I replayed the game after college and was able to understand what Kojima was going for narratively a bit more. Now it's in my top ten GOAT. Also, Solidus did nothing wrong.
not if you skip all the cutscenes and calls like me, fuck that interactive novel shit if you don't
Yes, it's one of the best games of all time. MGS3fags need not apply
>bird eye perspective
>minimap doesnt work until you find the terminals
Whot the fuck is responsible for this?
Git gud etc. Just use first-person view to keep track of guards. The nodes are usually pretty close to wherever you enter from anyway.
Play MGS
but you have to look in 1st person every 4 steps and often the guards can see you even they are not even on the screen. Bad game mechanic.
MGS1 had a minimap
Yes, but it's ultimately not in the Top 10

I forgot how annoying rosemary and raiden are at the beginning Jesus fuck
>Bad game mechanic.
It's not that hard. Just do a little scouting and then go for it.
It's not about being hard, it's just annoying and makes no sense. Imagine your character can only see a couple meters in front of him, unless you stand still for a sec and go into 1st person.
unironically those are all some of my all time faves...when did PC become the platform of choice for gamers? It seems like back in the day a PC gamer was quite the different person/liked completely different games than console.
>and makes no sense
It forces the player to familiarize with the area and look around before having the radar as a crutch for speedier movement.
>playing with the map enabled
Bet you used the tranq gun too
>when did PC become the platform of choice for gamers?
When the PC started to share a lot more of the library consoles had. The utility of platforms (namely Steam) had a lot to do with that access.
I don't think PCs are all that great for gaming these days relative to consoles, though I do most of my gaming on a PC myself. The returns on performance relative to cost are pretty diminishing, and for the vast majority of people (even serious video game hobbyists) I don't think a PC is necessarily worth it given how hard console prices can drop over time. I play games on a PC because I wanted a PC for other reasons, and it made sense to consolidate.
yeah how you described yourself is pretty much me, but when I was initially deciding on taking that jump and everyone was like "PC is objectively better" I was like is it if you don't play like sims and RTS games?
yeah i felt it made the game that much more challenging, also in the boss fights. maybe it's artificial difficulty, and maybe that's part of the reason 4 is so much easier than the previous three, but of course the third game has more diverse environments and makes use of verticality much more so of course they had to change the camera.
basically for me it meant i had to play the game more strategically and think things out more/plan ahead etc.
>yeah i felt it made the game that much more challenging, also in the boss fights
it plays exactly how it's supposed to play
it's pretty much a perfect game.
*Is the worst area in any mgs game*
Yeah, truly Fuku's finest masterpiece.
Kojima apparently participared as well. Probably was a coffee boy or something. Go figure.
Depends a bit on which door you enter it from. First-person aiming can really trivialize it, though.
oh fuck i have fond memories of that one..
I too love to create fictional stories without basis in reality.
especially when you have to find the bomb. also, before going into this area, make sure you get the tranq gun, it makes this area a whole lot easier just to knock them all out one by one while they go and investigate why they all keep systematically falling over one after the other.
it's remembered because of the bait and switch with the main character, something that can rarely be done. Last time I recall a bait and switch of something was in an anime where this one character was marketed as a female lead and was killed off in episode 1.
