>implying being sub elite isnt a sign of mental illness
nobody plays anything but Ness, Samus, Link and Snake in quickplay

Even in Arena it's something like that

with every character and have a stellar Duck Hunt.

>don't play me play the better version
>Squirtle

>snake
>let's have some fun
every combo of yours interrupts from grenade explosion
>fun

>snake
>fun
kill yourself

Play Ivysaur

It's ironic, Lucina, Wolf and Snake are the pinnacle of Tryhard online

>Snake spamming grenades and breaking all your combos
>Wolf spamming blaster and killing you at 80 with backair or downsmash
>Lucina in general
>Lets have some fun

>He doesn't understand the "Let's have some fun joke"

t. swordie mains

duck hunt main, sorry.

>Ridley
>Low endlag
I main him and I fucking wish. He's big but lacks a few things to help big characters. He has moves that have horrid endlag and moves that have like no priority. I don't think he's garbage but a few tweaks would really help him out.

I still don't even have online and I can't bring myself to care

Hack your Switch in that case

Neutral air is good, Ftilt is good, Forward-smash bursts you, F-air x2 for edgeguard, his recovery is decent.

I've seen people say his recovery is bad. I get that it's linear but if you mix up your jumps and timing as well as side b isn't it at least acceptable? Really what I think could benefit him most is:
>Up b comes out a lot faster, becomes viable kill option.
>Down b breaks shields.
>Spitting out one fireball is instant.
Maybe making him heavier would help but I'm not sure if that'd make him even more combo food or if he's at the point that it's no use trying to avoid that and just give him the weight to survive potential kills.

i never understand how anyone can complain about recovery with multiple jumps. boggles my brain.

Why do I miss with fsmash sometimes and then others it lands like a champ when it doesn't look like it should? Dashing and stopping short with an ftilt has been helping me out lately. Much safer than my usual tactics.

Ridley really could use an extra jump I think. Dedede has what, like 5? He's even a super heavyweight. Ridley's a flying space zombie dragon with wings and only gets 3? Just seems silly.

>I get that it's linear but if you mix up your jumps and timing as well as side b isn't it at least acceptable?
I think he's okay with you use the good mix at good times.

I don't know, play him more and you'll land them. Smash Bros Ultimate is all about knowledge of frame data and reflex.
Example : You play Mario and do a Fsmash (opponent in shield), the endlag is so low that you can chain up with a quick Downsmash and bait them.

Yeah also fuck retarded Up-B recovery like Pirahna Plant and K.Rool

He at least deserves to have an omni-directional recovery. It being locked into 4 directions is completely counter intuitive

Why the hell DOES Ridley's up b take forever to go off? What is the fucking reason for taking a year?

Honestly I find the online so shitty to play I just lose patience with it.

>no way to communicate with opponent even through tags or anything
>can't change character against the same opponent so if you find someone fun you're just stuck playing the same matchup over and over and over against eachother
>still get matched up with people with retarded rulesets, especially shitters who try to pick rulesets to suit their character

And I haven't even played since stagebuilder came out but I heard people select custom stages now online or something?

I never thought I would ever say "I miss Sm4sh" online, but having For Fun and For Glory was so much better than this shit.

Squirtle is legitimately better to rack up damage in some matchups.

clearly you never actually played For Fun, it makes even the laggiest matchs of Ultimate look like they were offline. the only reason to play For Glory over the current system is for character counterpicks and being able to play more than just FD and having an actual ranking system albeit a shitty one is a worthwhile trade

Because it's an extremely powerful kill move

Do what I do and make a 1v1 arena with only 2 slots (you and one other), or free for all with 4 slots. Nobody has to wait in line or spectate, you can change your character, and if you want it to just be FD/Battlefield you can set it to do random of either. Much less annoying than pissing with Quickplay.

That can easily be blocked in the state it's in, or worse out ranged and punished.

You use it it mostly to punish people recovering at the ledge. Making it faster would be too much of a buff is it stands. The suggestion to make it able to go in any direction is far more reasonable

You mean downward up b at the ledge so you grab it but still spike? I still have a hard time doing that effectively. I usually shoot straight into the damned air.
